Great hidden gem! The food portions and quality are excellent. This location is takeout only, and they prepare your orders very quickly. The price point is outstanding! Give it a try; you won't be disappointed! Enjoy!

A concerning and unfortunate turn on events. As former frequent patrons of this establishment, we are absolutely disappointed by the way Hiroi Sushi has dealt with a food-borne illness safety concern/food poisoning concern. We order party trays every so often from Hiroi because we liked their quality. Yesterday after we ordered a PT6 and a roll and ate it, we noticed that the sushi was not as fresh as they usually are. A few hours later, we got severe nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, and headaches. The next morning, we tried to contact Hiroi through their email as a courtesy contact, and the email bounced back. We messaged their social media and we received no response, so we called. The first phone call we spoke to the front staff to explain the situation and they offered us "two basic rolls". This wasn't what we were expecting after a whole night of sickness, so we asked if there's anything else they can offer because we're wary of going to their establishment again. They told me that their manager will call back. I asked who I was speaking to, and they hesitated to tell me their name, and told me "I don't know why you need to know my name". A few hours later we called them after receiving a missed call. We spoke to a guy named Sam, who claimed to run the store. He was defensive in his tone and said "we can't offer you a full refund, and if you don't want the two rolls, then you don't have to come back and you can go visit other sushi establishments because that's what you were going to do anyways, right?" This was a very off-putting and concerning statement from a restaurant representative, and as frequent patrons, we regret spending our hard-earned money here. I concluded the call with the notice that they can keep their money and that they don't have to deal with us in the future anymore. I absolutely regret attempting to make a food safety courtesy call to an establishment I spend $100+ on every visit. I am appalled that this business is too arrogant to make their customers happy because they're a popular establishment here. Unfortunate because I used to like their food but never again.

It's my birthday weekend and off course it's time to spoil myself for some sushi! My daughter got invited off an all you can eat and I got jealous lol me and my son decided to try Hiroi Sushi! It's not our first time but it is our first time to try Aburi Scallop & Salmon Dragon Roll - $17.95 Dynamite roll topped with torched scallop and salmon!!!!! It's sooo delicious! Don't take my word for it,YOU need to definitely try it! I also loved the soft shell crab for only $12 is really a treat!!! They definitely need to have a dine in restaurant looking forward to this ! It's just minutes away from my house so it's soo convenient!

My fave sushi takeout! Hiroi is an amazing hidden takeout place in Mississauga. I recommend calling in early especially on Fridays or weekends because the wait could be well over an hour sometimes. BUT, trust me the wait is well worth it. The portions are huge! Fish is fresh. I can't ask for anything else. This is a take away only spot, no tables or counter space to eat in at all.

I echo what everyone else says - the portions here are massive and quite yum yum. Everything is much larger than that offered by competitors - the maki rolls are bigger and more stuffed, the handrolls (though priced at $6) are GINORMOUS, and the fish on the nigiri drapes over the top. Hiroi is quite popular, and, as a result, quite busy. We put in an order at 5PM and were told that our food would be ready for pick-up at 7PM. Two hours!! I only have two main complaints about this place. First, the rice in the nigiri could be a bit smaller (maybe 80-90% its size). Second, the salmon was a bit bland in flavour - definitely not as rich and fatty as other places. I loved that the Big California had salmon inside (though wasn't a huge fan of the egg) and that lots of their nigiri was torched (e.g., the kinmedai, red snapper, etc.). It added a touch of flavour and was delicious! Prices were pretty good too, for the value. Would love to come here again!

A bustling sushi takeout contender in Mississauga! Located near the entrance of a residential plaza, it is a super busy spot. If you're planning to order from here - do it much in advance: at least one day recommended. Don't wait for day of your event to order! Call them directly, or ordered via food app like UberEats. Tip: follow them on IG for latest updates! All staff are in PPE and behind protective wall divider. Take out bags are well packaged. Good portions. The presentation is top notch. Sashimi is thickly cut. Sometimes rolls are inconsistent in size - but overall flavour is great. As others have mentioned, they do have lots of sauce on some of their Signature Rolls, so if you don't like extra sauce - look at the basic rolls instead. Food is fresh. Definitely one of the better sushi joints in the city!

Not sure why I didn't Review Hiroi Sushi Sooner This place is the best hidden Gem in Mississauga If you miss Scarborough Sushi but don't want to commit the drive Hiroi is open 6 days a week! SUSHI Hiroi doesn't come to play on their fish, they don't skimp on the size and definitely has a better understanding of rice than any other Sushi joint in mississauga. It leaves you savoring each bite. SASHIMI if rice isn't your thing, get Sashimi, thick cuts of buttery goodness. Quality is the word for each piece MAKI The rolls are large and in charge and absolute works of art (see pictures) every roll at hiroi is an adventure waiting to be explored however the only comment I would make is for them to please stop adding sweet potato to every roll. Thank you. If you've never tried Hiroi you must do so, but if you feel overwhelmed their specials (aka 1 person meal deals) are a great starter around $18 per person take out its a great choice.

Sashimi and Big Cali roll special
    Selena C.

Hiroi Sushi probably gives the biggest portion sizes I've seen from a mom and pop type shop. 1 piece of sashimi is probably 2 pieces at other places you go to. They offer a wide selection of rolls and specials. The prices can't be beat for the portion sizes and quality you get. I'm not usually a fan of california type rolls and tend to go for sushi or sashimi, but their Big Calfornia roll has salmon in it too which gives it a great bite and adds to the taste. Their menu is easy to read and find online. I usually order their specials, but their platter has also been delicious and a hit. It is a take out only location and you can call in advance to have your order prepared because sometimes they are quite backed up. In the actual store they have some cute little greeting cards on the side you can purchase too! Love supporting local businesses and I will continue doing so at Hiroi!

Got takeout from this spot for a picnic. We ordered a butterfish aburi roll along with a set that came with 6 types of rolls. Overall the sushi was good value for the price. The fish was fresh and the rice to fish ratio was good. My one complaint is that all the rolls had so much sauce the rolls all tasted similar.

A tiny lil sushi place out in Meadowvale (Glen Erin and Britannia). Strictly take-out only but I think it's probably the best sushi in Mississauga easily. I ordered one of those Hiroi Specials, that you can find directly on their website, and I did the order through the phone. I'm hoping that an online ordering system can emerge from it, but calling in is sufficient (though depending on when you order, you may have considerable wait times). I ordered the Sashimi/Sushi/Big California special and I was immediately impressed by the presentation (pictures below). The Big California (8 pieces), practically a California with Salmon sashimi inside, laid across in the container, while the nigiri sushi and sashimi rest on either side of the dish. It was very pretty to look at, and take pictures. The nigiri sushi, particularly the salmon, was practically draping and hugging the rice. Both the rice was nicely seasoned and the salmon being super fresh, and smooth. Also enjoyed the lil jalapeno on one of the nigiri sushi, which is a nice touch, give it a small kick to the subtle fish and rice. Big Cali roll, like I said, Cali Roll + Salmon, a solid bite. And the sashimi was delicious, fresh and smooth (zero fishy scent). 100% reco this one.

So I have been going HAM on sushi after my pregnancy and am so happy Hiroi Sushi opened near me because it has been my go-to! I literally order from here at least once a week through ubereats or pick-up LOL. Super affordable sushi with amazing quality and portions. Sushi and maki rolls have the perfect rice to fish ratio and my favourite part is that their sashimi is always fresh and THICCC~ sashimi literally melts in my mouth - ugh I'm droolin just thinking about it lolll Their signature rolls are unique and DELICIOUS and filling. My favourite is definitely the aburi salmon maki. If you're a fan of spicy salmon maki roll, you'll for sure love this! I've also ordered their sashimi, sushi & maki party tray B a couple times - 54 pcs for $54... I've ordered many sushi platters from many sushi restaurants and I've never ordered a sushi platter with such big portions and so delicious for only $54... really bang for your buck!! I also like that Hiroi is always consistent with their service and quality: reasonably-priced, great portions with beautiful presentation - everytime I post my Hiroi meals on my ig story my friends will always ask about it. Even when I go there for pick-up service is super friendly and efficient. 10/10 will always recommend! I can't wait to order again LMFAOO. I got my sister hooked on Hiroi Sushi.. she even said it is better than her fav sushi restaurant! Do yourself a favour and go to Hiroi Sushi!! I've gotten everyone hooked so far loll

    Edward T.

Generous portions, fresh tasting fish and thoughtful presentation, all at a fair price. This small takeout spot is a great option for your sushi cravings. I ordered their PT6, which is their Large Maki, Sushi & Sashimi Tray B (54 pieces). Their sashimi was cut in very big pieces, which gave it a more unique eating experience. The salmon used in their sushi is also a larger slice of fish, compared to the average takeout sushi restaurants. I'm looking forward to my next order.

Medium Maki & Sushi Party Tray
    Michelle H.

I ordered through UberEats to send my mother-in-law a birthday dinner as my husband and I live extremely far. I left a note asking Hiroi to put some extra care and attention to my order (the Medium Sushi & Maki Party Tray), and they certainly did! In fact, they went above and beyond in their presentation and even treated us to a couple of extra pieces! My in-laws said the sushi was absolutely delicious and was so filling! I will most definitely check out Hiroi, for myself, when I visit my in-laws next. I can't wait to finally try many of their popular selections (and I'll update the review when I do ;))! Overall, Hiroi definitely knows how to operate a great business: 5-star customer experience and food. Go check them out!

One side is for takeout but patrons are sitting there to dine in and the other side is for dine in, but the employees also do take out. Confusing YES. So I arrived in blindly following a line. I eventually tapped the person behind me, is this the line to get a table. He says no it's the line to order... okay. About 20min in the line I finally get the deal what everyone is doing, they order their seafood order at the front where the precious alive seafood is stored- it's like a pick what you eat counter. So I order their sangarita with a salad and yellow rice and a calamari with no sides (you save like $4 for just skipping that). After ordering she asked if I had a table?? I said no, then she comes out with seven yellow sticky notes and says there are 6 parties waiting for a table. I asked how long? Maybe 40min. She also advises me that i can put myself on the list for a table and she can hold my order up to 45min- they won't start cooking until you have a table. So I asked how long for takeout, she says 20min. Well I did my math, I waited 20min in line, and 20min for food that is not partially cooked so 40min, I can live with that. Watched the server rip the slip, and just fyi the fish was charged at $35/kg costing $60 and the calamari at 1lb was $22. She asked me to wait on the side, saw her put the slip with the raw fish and placed it ON THE FLOOR behind the counter. As I waited on the side I can see quite a number of orders piled in Rubbermaid containers on the floor. Behind the counter I can see the coats of the employees piled up next to what looks like to be the washed cutlery for table service and the employees use the same yellow rag to wipe every cutlery. I also saw employees clear the tables and return to prepare more cutlery- did they wash their hand in the kitchen??? I was then prompt to pay on their pay unit. It prompted me tip. SKIP tip for takeout. Then she tells me it's 2% charge if I pay credit card no charge for debit. So I pay debit. I waited patiently, I stood near the washroom and overheard how a male customer found a $100 bill in the washroom and handed it to the restaurant- they didn't even ask around if anyone dropped it. Then when I had waited 30min (10min past the estimated time, I asked for an update ). They assured me 10 more minutes. Then after 10min I asked again, they said 1min. And then they came out with my take out. The gave me a complimentary hummus for the slow service, but I don't think it made up for the undersized sides they served me. Just look at my pic and look at the website photo. Overall , if you have 2-3hours this is your place. THIS PLACE WAS ABSOLUTELY CHAOS! I'm questioning food stored on the floor even though it's in a Rubbermaid and then that bin placed back on the scale, touched by the gloved hands and potentially cross contaminating food. During the whole time I didn't see anyone clean or mop the floor- what if people are trekking sidewalk salt in the winter. I am really concerned. Eat dangerously here if you want. I do say the food was seasoned well but won't be returning.

The menu leans fusion, so there was a lot to try, and overall it felt like a fun place to share plates and compare notes with the table. The cocktails definitely stood out for being stronger than the usual lighter, sweeter drinks you get elsewhere, and the smoky cinnamon one was probably the most memorable. For appetizers, the beef tartare with bone marrow was the clear winner for me. The tartare tasted bright and fresh, and the marrow was rich without feeling greasy. The mussels were also enjoyable, mostly because they were fresh and sat in a creamy broth that made the whole dish feel comforting. We also tried the octopus with pumpkin purée, which had a nice chewy texture and a lovely sweetness from the purée, although a slight charred taste came through more than I personally wanted. For mains, a few dishes landed better than others. The ribeye with chimichurri was one of the stronger choices, tender, properly cooked medium rare, and especially good with that sharp, herbaceous sauce. The ribs were also very tender and full of flavor. The salmon in puff pastry was enjoyable enough that I would order it again, even though the pastry itself was a little softer than I expected. The udon carbonara was decent and comforting, but probably not the most memorable thing on the table, and the signature chicken had flavorful meat even if the rice leaned a bit too soft for me. One small complaint I kept coming back to was the bread, which tasted more charred than I like. Still, Wilcox feels like a nice little spot for a relaxed dinner with drinks, especially if you go in the mood to share, explore the menu, and order a few of the stronger dishes.
