The dress is very intricate with lace and beading and I knew that the job wouldn't be easy and could end up being pretty expensive, but I think that for the task they were presented with they gave me a very fair price. I initially contacted the company via Yelp and was given a quote for pick-up & delivery services at the address that I provided for laundering of a down comforter. The website is broken so I was unable to schedule the pickup, and the e-mail I sent to the company was ignored. I called to arrange the pick-up, and the man who answered the phone refused to provide me with services, citing my address being "too far" despite me providing Vadim with the cross-streets of my address in order to get the initial quote. Increase in prices, decline in quality of service. This was especially confirmed after my many bad experiences, and confirming the same "shady" patterns with my friend who I had recommended this company for her new house cleaning. The past few times I have had to deal with the maid(s) leaving wayyy too early. It has always been at least an hour or more still remaining in the cleaning session - and somehow they are always "finished". That obviously has not been the case. From unscrubbed showers left with the grime from their dirty rag bucket water, half a mopped kitchen floor, foggy glass cabinets... if I wanted a decent/mediocre cleaning, I could have saved myself the $100 and done that on my own. There seems to be no resolution from their end whenever I reach out to express my concerns about lack of quality, and lack of the actual time that the maid(s) worked. To spend all that money for a subpar result, and then the maids shamelessly cheating the clock to skip out an hour earlier than scheduled - that's one half of it. What really does not add up for me is how whenever I call the office, the people who are in charge will somehow try to tell you that their policy now states that paying for a 3 hour cleaning session means that it can "be less than 3 hours, or more than 3 hours, but that's the rate paid" as if half their staff hasn't been bowing out an hour early on their clients. There is no sense of resolution from this company when you express your complaints about the unsatisfactory performance. Personally, it feels like I am being cheated. If a cleaning service for 3 hours is $90/3 hours, and these ladies are constantly cutting the shift short at 2 hours .. then all I'm seeing here is a sneaky $45/2 hours rate. If you are receiving constant calls and complaints about this "1 hour freebie" pattern that it being pulled on many jobs, why wouldn't the supervisors/managers of the team come to the conclusion that their clients should be refunded for the hours of service that they did NOT receive. She did a great job cleaning every part of the house and was very thorough and detailed. She had a great attitude as well. We will consider making this a monthly cleaning service. I've never written a review before, but my recent experience with Hippodrome compelled me to write one, so here we are. I've hired Hippodrome to clean my 1br apartment twice. The first time was perfect. Two cleaners came for 1.5 hours and left the apartment spotless. Absolutely no complaints. The second time, however, was a different story. Two cleaners showed up again, same rate for 1.5 hours. They only stayed for 1 hour. When they told me they were done, I pointed out that the service was really quick, and that it had only been an hour. Their response was "well, there's two of us." I paid them cash and that was that. Over the course of the next week, my girlfriend and I noticed that the apartment wasn't nearly as clean as the first time. Admittedly, we should've checked over the apartment while they were still here, but we didn't. There were water stains in the bathroom that don't accumulate that quickly. Corners of our living room (under desks and such) weren't fully dusted. Small stuff like that that showed low attention to detail. Obviously, we weren't too happy about that. Ten days after we had the apartment cleaned (we were out of town for a few days), I contacted Vadim, who presumably coordinates the cleaners, about how dissatisfied we were with the service. I apologized for the late notice, because we really should have contacted him immediately. That's our bad. I pointed out that we paid for 1.5 hours for two cleaners, and received only 1 hour of service. I mentioned the water stains and the dust. The response I received was that because it was 10 days after the service, he offered a 15% discount on my next service. I messaged him back going into further detail, reiterating my complaint and asked if he really thought that a 15% discount was appropriate compensation for missing 33% of the service I paid for (1 hour instead of 1.5 hours). This percentage doesn't include the quality of the cleaning, just the amount of time I paid for and the amount of time they spent here. A week later, no response. So I messaged him again asking if he forgot to respond or if I'm being ignored. His response (which came just over an hour after) again was to offer a 15% discount. Frankly, I find this unacceptable. He briefly apologized for the 'inconvenience', but didn't acknowledge my complaints whatsoever. No acknowledgment of the reduced time I received, or of the poorer quality service. My second message to him was blatantly ignored until I followed up a week later. I understand that I should've contacted him sooner. That was 100% my fault. That said, I simply can't accept that not only was the service was inferior, but my messages/complaints were barely even acknowledged. If I had paid via credit card, I would've charged 33% back. But I paid cash, so it is what it is. I'll give my business to a more deserving company. read more

We hired cleaners to clean our apartment before move-in (the landlord claimed the previous tenants had cleaned, but they certainly did not). The two ladies that came (Gulia and Bema), got our place spotless. They cleaned all the caked-on grime off the stove and in the oven, scrubbed the inside of the fridge and freezer, got the sinks and tub back to white, cleaned all the windows, baseboards, inside all the cabinets, etc. They even scrubbed the walls. I use these guys for my monthly dry cleaning and laundry. They will do pick ups mostly after the work day has ended or early on which is reasonable. The pick up man is always courteous and will come right to your Apartment door. I have yet to schedule a delivery because I find t convenient to just stop over and grab my things in person on the way to work. The yelp deal for 20 Dollars is great to start with to check it out. I do wish they folded he laundry like the place on my street though. The place on my street has them in very compact squares. Overall still this is my preferred cleaner read more

They were really late about 1.5 hrs and called me a lot when I was really busy that day but they did come the same day which was great. The girl spoke no English so I couldn't tell her what needed cleaning but I will say she cleaned really well, she missed a couple things and paid extra for windows but she couldnt do them so I would have preferred to take that service off. The only thing I was upset is they told me they would bring their own mop and broom (I just moved in the day before so had nothing) and they didnt so communication wasnt great. I will say she was nice and cleaned quite well though, even floors on her hands and knees. Total service cost me $156 for kitchen and bathroom cleaning on a new rental that obviously was still dirty. read more

I've called them for cleaning at least three times and I will use them again. In the rare chance they are late, they always call, which I appreciate. Work and customer service are absolutely phenomenal. I had a bridesmaid dress fixed here. The dress was pleated all the way from top to bottom however, the dress's pleats were all messed up as I receive it from the mail. Upon reading the reviews here, I decided I'd give it a shot. I needed the dress to be fixed right away since my flight is on Saturday. Wednesday was when it was handed to them and they promised that it would be ready by Friday. I just picked up my dress today. The dress was flawless, perfect pleats , which is my main concern and also had it cut by two inches. They did a wonderful job. Now another thing that's worth mentioning is the CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! Vajib (not sure if I spelled it correctly) came outside to meet me since I was having difficulty finding the place. I don't think any place would make this effort. My dress was holding into a necklace. It was really dependent with necklace and I broke it while trying on. This is my fault for not being careful. Vajib fixed it for me. Note that this is not part of the deal and he did not charge me for it. He could've just brush me off and say , hey we're closing and we don't have equipment for this, but he didn't. He was genuinely concerned about my dress and fixed it. As for the pricing, it was reasonable. I used Yelp deal and paid in cash to redeem 5% off. You should go here for alterations; pricing , output and customer service is a real thumbs up! read more

Not what you'd expect to find in the basement of a high-rise, but these guys are great. I got 3 pair of pants hemmed here. They have a changing room where I was able to try on each pair and have them sized by the seamstress and they were ready right on time. Super polite and reasonably priced (especially with the yelp deal!) I also had a pair of beloved combat boots which I asked if he could restore (they do shoe repair as well). Instead of nickel and diming me he let me know they were basically a lost cause. I'll definitely be back, because I think most places would have done a shoddy job repairing the shoes, charged an arm and a leg, and instead he was very honest with me and I appreciate that. EDIT: turns out they forgot to sew two pant legs! One on each of two pairs! This is partially on me, because I did not thoroughly check the pants until months after having them hemmed, but they actually failed to complete the sewing job. The pants I got hemmed I only wear during the winter (they're a little more roomy so I can wear layers), and I got them hemmed during the summer. At any rate, now that I've gone and tried to wear them I realize that they ENTIRELY forgot to sew the left leg of two pairs of pants! They were cut and ironed, but never sewed. I realized this too late, at work, which was very embarrassing, to be walking around with a dangling pant-leg. I ended up having to sew the other two pair up myself, which really defeats the purpose of me paying them to do this earlier. Please, pay closer attention to your work guys. Attention to detail is pretty crucial to your business, I wish I'd noticed this error sooner. EDIT NUMERO DOS: they fixed all the things! and threw in a free dry clean & delivery! They called me twice (I had a really chaotic week and wasn't able to return their first call) just to follow-up and make sure that I knew they were willing to work with me to resolve the issue. I came in and the staff immediately knew who I was. Everyone was super polite and professional through all of our interactions. Next time I'll make sure to double check for any human errors (which are reasonable, that's life), but these guys are great and completely reasonable. Highly recommended! read more

Amazing. Professional. Friendliest tailoring service ever. Actually I never really get my dresses altered until now, for a bridesmaid dress and everything was super easy and welcoming here. I knew my dress was gonna be a pain to alter--3-4 layers. But the man (I think maybe he's the owner or supervisor or manager...?) and tailor were both so friendly. The owner man even took time to show me a shortcut out of the building. It's the small details that make this place so amazing. I went here by looking through yelp reviews and since it was near my house. To be honest I wasn't expecting much and kinda worried bc it was in the basement of an apartment complex. But this place is awesome. I wish they could get a storefront because they truly deserve more business. I hope those of you reading this will come to this friendly yet professional place. The tailoring and alterations are excellent!!! I've had to have alterations done here twice and both times the work has been impeccable; the fit, flawless. When the tailor has questions as to how to proceed, he doesn't make assumptions. He calls and gives options! I know that should be standard but... I bring wash and fold here all the time and it's excellent. The dry cleaning has always been reliable as well. I just wanted to put the word out about the tailoring. Maybe this place is great for other types of tailoring or basic bridal hemming but this is NOT the place for complicated bridal alterations. The tailor is a nice only-Spanish speaking man...but he won't make the dress look right or fit right at all...and doesn't seem to care about that fact. He won't suggest ways to make the dress fit correctly and doesn't seem to know how to work with delicate bridal fabrics. The reason that I still give this place a 3 stars is the business owners. They were extremely kind when they learned that the tailoring was done very poorly and worked out a fair arrangement with me after the fact. I suggest discussing the work with the owners instead of relying solely on the tailor. The management here is wonderful and really cares about their customers. read more

The guy hemmed the bottom and brought the front in for me like I asked, but did nothing to fix the extra strap fabric in the back and it was gaping.
