I threw a party in my apartment on a Saturday night. Imagine the frattiest, frat party of fratsville. Puke in the toilets, bottles of liquor strewn across several rooms, a thick layer of black scum coating the floors; this is the mess that the ladies of Dust to Shine walked into. I called them on a Wednesday, and Andrea confirmed our Sunday morning appointment via text. We texted throughout the week to finalize our service options and pricing. Remember to treat them kindly over the phone and in person, because even with the slaughterhouse they worked with, Andrea still gave us a discount from the kindness of her heart. They arrived on time with all the necessary tools and materials to do the hard work. I actually tried helping them clean (out of sheer guilt), but Andrea shoo'ed me away and promised to take care of it. Four lovely ladies tackled a kitchen, living room, long hallway, one bedroom and two bathrooms in under an hour and 45 minutes. Our place is clean enough to walk barefoot, which we couldn't even do prior to the party. We will definitely call them again for our post St. Patrick's day party. My only regret is that I didn't take before and after photos of the miracle they provided.

We could not discharge her safely from the hospital with the extremely unsanitary conditions in the house. I have no words to describe the hoarding, the squalor, the grime, and the smell of incontinence. Andrea was very pleasant and very kind. I agree with the other reviews about her and her team being wonderful and nonjudgmental. They came in at 9 am and worked hard all day to organize, clean, polish and throw out what was necessary. That house went from uninhabitable to shining in one day. They worked so hard and left everything immaculate. I don't think I've seen those bathrooms and kitchen so clean in at least a decade. All the cabinets, the fridge and the dishes are clean, the bathrooms are sparkling, the walls are clean, the furniture has been polished, and the messes organized. The furniture and rugs that needed to be removed, were moved outside so all we need to do is get a dumpster. I only wish we had the time to get the dumpster before they arrived. I can't believe it's the same house! Thank you Andrea and team!

I am very particular regarding cleaning, so I have high performance expectations. Erik was easy to work with prior to the work and a pleasure during the job. He came with a competent assistant. The work was done in a timely fashion and in a way that was not disruptive to my wife or me. The price was competitive, and I look forward to my next appointment. I've had some decent and good cleanings over the years but Hylton gave me something I didn't even realize I was searching for. No judgement. Generally, I call for cleaning when the home gets messy and chaotic which, according to a cleaner friend, is way harder to deal with than filthy. So whenever I'm showing a new cleaner around, i always catch a glimpse of the silent judgement and slight annoyance with the chaos. After some juggling around the time, the two women from Hylton showed up and cheerfully told me they would bring the house back to Order. I looked at their eyes and for the first time ever, I saw determination not judgement. Together they scrubbed, rubbed and wiped the home down. They moved, organized and wrangled my home into submission. I signed up for a deep cleaning and I received a Deep Cleaning. A cleaner windowsill where once I thought the windowsill was already clean. There was a crevice between the washer and dryer and they figured out what to use to reach there. I expressed my concern that most cleaners miss corners and behind furniture and they alleviated those concerns by removing every speck of dust from every single crease and crevice. This is a company that takes great pride in the work that they do. However, when they were finished and called me to do the walk through, they proved that differently from any place I've used in the past. I didn't just walk and nod. She was right behind me and actually asked questions about each area then asked if I needed them to improve anything. I said yes in one instance, and they immediately put me out the room and remade the area. I was blown away by the professionalism, kindness and peace they brought to my space. Usually I find issues in the hours or days after the cleaning but not this time because they were so thorough, both with the work and because of the questions they ask at the end. If I had found something though, I got the distinct impression that it would be safe to let them know it. I'm glad I found them and I am definitely going to call them again.
