The house

The Tampa turnup is real. We are on a 2 day road trip destination clearwater. Wifey was hangry so we decided to go to Himes Breakfast House on Himes st. Angel, our waitress was a delight from start to finish. I ordered corn beef hash which was not on the menu at all. I went with the fried grouper. It was hit and flaky. I wanted French fries but took the home fries instead. Also, I had one of my favs, an English muffin w/ butter and Jelly. Wifey had a staple meal includes eggs, cheese grits and bacon. We were treated like Tampa royalty and it was only breakfast. Himes will always be our breakfast spot when we are in Tampa. I'm glad they have several locations to boot!

Jessie's breakfast bowl

Great breakfast spot with unique dishes. I had Jessie's bowl a nice combo of loaded grits topped with eggs. Gooey, cheesy goodness. And Cuban toast! Hubby had the pork belly Benedict. Done well. Great service and friendly to our pup who had an order of sausage. Ate outside on a nice shaded patio.

Visited this spot with some friends for brunch. They have a great selection of options and it's very family style. Melissa was our server and she was nice and attentive. The space is fairly spacious and the wait wasn't too long at all.

Jessie's loaded grits, crunch cakes, biscuit

Himes Breakfast House is a solid breakfast spot overall. The service was mom n pop nice. My food came out fast and everything. I ordered Jessie's famous loaded grits and that was amazinggg. The biscuit was mad soft and easily one of the highlights of the meal. The only downside for me were the pancakes. They were very doughy, almost like they weren't cooked all the way through. I tried one piece but couldn't finish them. That said, everything else I had was enjoyable. I'd definitely come back and just skip the pancakes next time.

First time there, Saturday after Thanksgiving. Was busy but they had more than enough staff to handle the crowd. The egg sandwich was hot, so important, and the marble rye bread was substantial. Home fries seasoned well. My husband had a breakfast bowl with sausage gravy. Again they did it right. Just the right amount of sausage gravy and hot. Both. Our waitress was on spot! Stopped by our table a few times to check on us. And a manager also stopped to see if we were happy with the meal. Kudos to all at Himes.

Smart storage for condiments allows ample access at small table.

In town for a soccer tournament. The place is busy, but I was seated within five minutes of arriving. Waitstaff are polite and attentive. Ordered Jessi's Grits. They were creamy and perfectly seasoned. Added on bacon, which is thick cut with a little sweetness. Coffees was good. While the food was a little slow to come out, it was not excessively so, and everything tasted freshly made. I would recommend and come back.

Stopped in for breakfast on a Tuesday morning. Was greeted by the manager Kyle. Seated right away. Our server was Valerie. She was a pleasant young lady and very efficient. Menu has most of the typical breakfast and lunch favorites. In addition they offer several unique items and different takes on popular dishes. You can have eggs Benedict's with pork belly, or over a biscuit instead of an english muffin, or southern fried catfish & eggs. Restaurant is brand new location for this chain. Nice and bright interior. Outside covered seating. Plenty of parking out front.

I want to start off by sharing that this gem opened up just 4 days ago and for sure will be come a favorite in the area! It's breakfast food done well-- really well and at a reasonable price. We were seated immediately and Maya took our drink orders, we started off with a mug of coffee and a grapefruit juice! I haven't had grapefruit juice in awhile and it was really good. In the very near future they'll offer mimosas which will be great. Several things on the menu caught our attention- after having a delicious pancake, I'm certain the chicken and waffles will be my next selection here. We decided on the sogs and nogs omelette-- made with 4 eggs with loaded grits and a pancake stack to share! Everything tasted soo good. I loved the hollandaise sauce on the eggs! Pancakes are perfect in my book when they have the crispy edges and these delivered! I loved the taste as well, not super sweet but good on their own with just the butter. I tried the specialty espresso flavored syrup made in house as well as the butter rum flavored syrup. While both were good and different, I think I still prefer the original maple syrup. I would be doing you a disservice if I don't shout out the loaded grits! Sooo creamy! Service was great, the decor is clean and welcoming and even the patrons all seemed to wave and smile at each other, which is nice! I plan on returning soon.

Himes Breakfast House recently opened off Bloomingdale Avenue in Riverview. It is located in Winthrop Shopping Center. When we entered we were greeted by Kyle and immediately seated. The restaurant was very busy for a Tuesday morning. There are tables and booths and there is plenty of seating. The tables can all be pushed together to accommodate large groups as well. This is a big plus! I found the restaurant to be spotless and very bright & cheerful. When we were seated a very sweet server Valerie approached our table. We proceeded to look over the menu and ordered. I ordered the basic benny, which is described on the menu as the following: Two poached eggs over thick cut bacon & an english muffin topped with our house made hollandaise and your choice of home fries or grits. Breakfast was enjoyed by both my husband and I. The one thing I will add is the coffee was HOT which we very much enjoyed. I find at many breakfast joints the coffee is never hot, it's usually lukewarm at best. So we really appreciated that. We will definitely be returning in the future to try other items off the menu. This restaurant also offers outside seating. We really hope this restaurant succeeds, it's a great addition to the Winthrop Shopping Center! I highly recommend you give them a try. I think you will be happy you did!

Catfish & grits

I've been to every Himes Breakfast location & all of them are incredible. Quality & taste at every location has been the same. I always get the catfish and grits with a pancake on the side and an Arnold Palmer. I really want to try other things but the catfish has me in a chokehold . Himes has thee best pancakes - I'm not even a big pancake person but they're always fully and delicious. Every server I've had is always nice and super attentive. One of thee best breakfast food chains I've experienced. I will always be a fan.

We stopped by here for breakfast when we were on the east side of Tampa. It's located at the front of a large shopping area with plenty of free parking to be found. Genesis was our server, and she was incredibly friendly, fast, and efficient. The food is southern inspired. I had a simple egg breakfast with grits and bacon. It was delicious! Their grits are amazing! The coffee is tasty, and they have the good Coffeemate creamers, like hazelnut and Irish cream. You must try their espresso infused maple syrup. It's soooo good!

Super cute area, great staff and extensive menu. Out service was fast and efficient even on a Sunday at peak time (11am). Food was also delicious and pretty great prices as well. I was extremely impressed that my food came out hot, which is hard for breakfast foods.

The food and wait staff were good. The decor could be better...plain, nothing cozy. Other breakfast restaurants offer more.

The restaurant was very clean and had such a cozy, welcoming vibe, making it the perfect spot to sit back and enjoy a great breakfast. I ordered the Lumberjack, and everything came out great. The eggs were cooked perfectly and placed on top of the mashed potatoes--not cooked together--but honestly, it still worked really well and tasted amazing. One thing I really liked is that you can sub the biscuit for French toast or pancakes. I chose the French toast, but the Lumberjack is so much food that it was honestly hard to even get to it . Everything was delicious, and I'd give this place a 10 out of 10--I'll definitely be back. Shoutout to our waitress Sienna, who was absolutely amazing. She was super friendly, recommended a bunch of great options, and made deciding easy. She checked on us often and even brought out a new syrup they make for us to try, which was so good. This place will definitely be seeing more of me!

Here is what we got; $14.00 Waffles - not fully cooked and straight out of a box- not fresh- hard parts throughout from freezer burn. 2 slices of bacon (this was fine) "smash burger" is NOT A SMASH BURGER AT ALL. Patty's are also frozen from a box and a traditional smash burger is paper thin- not 1/2 thick. And it was not fresh- definitely a frozen patty. Fries were not crispy. $50.00 bill for boxed freezer burn food. Save your money - go somewhere else!

Please consider supporting this business expansion so that it remains available to us. This does not appear to be an experiment to see how it goes. All of the signs, including outdoor signs, have been updated or replaced to announce that the business is open for dinner. The dining room is too bright. I suggested to server, who passed my comment on, that they should figure out how to dim the lights or turn some of them off. Speaking of the server, she was very friendly, efficient and accommodating. Our server's name was Ava, and she is an immigrant of Greek and Albanian descent, who has been in the United States for 29 years. Ava happily brewed a fresh pot of decaf for us and offered drinks for us to take with us. We were given the regular menu and a dinner supplement. I have attached copies of the dinner supplement and you can see there are varied options--and you can also see how reasonably priced the options are. Portion sizes were great. Too much for us, anyway. I had the fried shrimp platter and the $13.95 price included the shrimp, french fries, sauteed green beans and a really nice dinner salad. Joanne had the chicken salad croissant sandwich. She really liked her sandwich. I liked my dinner but being candid, I would be surprised if the shrimp were breaded in house as opposed to prepared and frozen by the purveyor. I will try something different next time or will have the shrimp grilled. Portions were plentiful. Overall, we had a really enjoyable experience. Based on the food, the location and the prices, we are certainly happy to support Eggtown for dinner.
