Wow! Highly recommend! Feels like a hidden gem, we were one of only two tables on Saturday night and I was blown away. Food was quick and delicious. Staff was super friendly and let us know they are opening up a new spot to be called Spice Kitchen, solely for takeout orders, in the downtown area. I felt well taken care of by the staff. Very relaxed environment and was able to enjoy my meal with my husband and hear each other in conversation. So much better than the competition around the corner Can't wait to come back and try more! Food was 11/10! If I could paint a picture, I felt like Remy in Ratatouille with all of the flavors bursting and swirling. This place is IT!!!

Mushroom Masala and a Tropical IPA

My wife and I were craving some tasty Indian cuisine and decided to try Himalayan Spice for the first time. We had an excellent meal and were blown away by the flavor of the dishes. Definitely a go to spot! We chose Samosa for our appetizer - 2 are included to the order and it comes with mint and tamarind chutney. These were hot and fresh and stuffed with delicious curried potatoes and peas. They were very good and had a spicy seasoning on top. For entrees we chose chicken masala and mushroom masala. The dishes are served in a large bowl and come with rice on the side. We also ordered some naan to scoop up all the incredible sauce. We both loved the mushroom dish and the spice level was perfect (medium hot). This was an all around good meal and service was great. This is a great casual lunch or dinner spot. The prices are reasonable and the portions are huge. We definitely had enough for leftovers. The medium hot was pretty spicy so definitely stick to mild if you can't handle the heat. We can't wait to go back and try some other dishes!

Great tasting Indian food in the heart of Berkeley, Denver Met friends here for dinner here on a weeknight. There was not a wait, but after tasting the food there should have been! Please come visit or order takeout, I highly recommend it. The staff were really attentive and provided great service. The atmosphere is clean and welcoming and also has ample outdoor seating. The food itself is delicious. We ordered a few curry chicken dishes, a veggie dish, garlic naan and rice. Between the 4 of us we could not finish the portions they gave us, so really great value for the money. I would recommend coming to visit!

I'm finding a new love for Indian, Himalayan and Nepali Cuisine! Everything we had was delicious, seriously!! My favorite dish was the chef special chicken, packed full of flavor.... it took everything not to pick up the bowl and slurp what was left of the sauce! And my favorite appetizer, although they were all very delicious, was the Chicken C MoMo Dumplings!! Also they have a unique selection of different tandoori naan bread. My favorite was the truffle... But they were all delicious! I can't wait to come back and try more of this delicious menu! What we ordered: Chef's special chicken curry C MoMo - appetizer- chicken Gobi Manchurian - appetizer Paneer chili - appetizer Saag with paneer Tandoori shrimp Tandoori mixed- chicken tikka, chicken on the bone, shrimp, and salmon Sun-dried tomato and truffle naan I forgot the name of the cocktail but just think of it as a boozy iced chai tea! Amazing!!

I found all the food too spicy. The papadom was good, soup and mango lassi enjoyable. It was takeout.

Chicken Tikka Masala flavoring was awful. It tastes like tomato soup. Bland with no seasoning. My desire to return is 0%.

No reservation needed on a week night and was sat immediately with a large party. Ordered the tikka masala. Was standard but solid.

I cannot believe it took as long as it did to get here. To be fair we did try a couple times and…read morethe parking was so packed we couldn't find a spot. All pointing to an excellent experience. The timing was right for my husband and I to come for a Sunday lunch. The service was fast and friendly. We started with potato sliders that were really good but not as good as our main courses. My husband opted for the lamb tiki masala and I opted for the eggplant (Baingan Bharta) Thali meal. The dal soup and spiced potatoes that came in the Thali were incredible. My favorite part was the chai though. I cannot drink milk and the alternative was oat milk. This was one of the best chais I have had in my life. So so good.

The Thali caught my eye as it's essentially a traditional platter with a variety of balanced small plates from rice to potatoes to dal soup and even dessert all on a single tray. I got it with Butter Chicken which was so good! Highly recommend as it was creamy, medium spicy, and very aromatic. I absolutely loved the street-style chaat! It's creamy, crunchy, cold, and loaded with flavors and textures. Such a satisfying bite and I almost couldn't stop until it was gone. I love that this Thali came with both rice & naan as I usually want both and can't decide lol! The rice was fluffy and aromatic from the cumin while the garlic naan was fresh, soft, and delicately brushed with garlic & parsley. I didn't care for the dal soup (bit too watery) or the jeera potatoes (bit undercooked) but the dessert was a nice way to end the meal. Their options included rice pudding and gulab jamun; I went with the "healthier" option lol. It was creamy, sweet, and cooled down my palate after the various dishes. The Lamb Biryani was another good try! The lamb chunks were tender and seasoned, the rice was aromatic, and it paired well with the onions and raita (yogurt sauce). This definitely satisfied my craving and I'm glad I stopped by before the long day I had ahead!

Coming from the east coast where the food was incredible, this spot is definitely a must. The restaurant is so vibey and beautifully decorated. It's large space and used to be a 50s diner, they have done such a cute job making it uniquely their own AND they saved the booths which I loved. We got there at 5:30 on a Thursday and it was filling up, by the time we left most seats were taken so next time I might call ahead just to be safe. I didn't expect the crowd but so glad to see it. The food was AMAZING - the menu is extensive so they have all of your favorites and then some. Our waitress was very helpful in sharing ideas on what to order so we got a few classics and a few new dishes and really loved it all. Saag Paneer, Jalfrezi with chicken and a few others from the "house specialty entrees". The online menu isn't as extensive as the in person menu so be prepared to put some time into decisions once you arrive!

Our family does both take out and dine in from this amazing establishment and we are never dissapointed. We love that they have both meat (me) and vegetarian/vegan (wife) options. The Thali veg/non veg meal is our favorite to order as its a great value and let's you taste multiple parts of the menu. The wings, assorted naan, and samosas are always a must add on. We will always choose this when we are craving amazing flavors, spices, and an experience that always leaves us thinking about how great everything was. When dining in, they always make you feel like your the only one in the restauraunt, busy or not. Do yourself a favor, whether dine in or take out, and enjoy Janakpur for a true taste of India and unmatched hospitality. Can't say enough great things about this establishment.

That vindaloo was legit spicy and absolutely incredible. As a pale dude who constantly has to fight for his right to real heat, I appreciate that more than I can say. The old fashioned was one of the best I've had anywhere, full stop. Not an easy thing to pull off and they nailed it. Service was outstanding. I had to step into a work call mid-meal and they were completely cool about it, no weird looks, no rush, just genuinely accommodating. That kind of hospitality is rare and it means a lot. I'll also be returning shortly to give back a napkin I accidentally walked out with, so consider that my excuse to come back soon. Highly recommend.
