During COVID, this business is taking orders via phone/email for pickup at a nearby restaurant (Mr. Henry's). Which is awesome, because it's basically Willy Wonka's factory for foodies. Seriously, Leah has something for everything! All high quality and at fair prices. Fancy European knives, Nordicware baking supplies, endless tea towels and spatulas and specialty molds and cutters. Whether you just need a new can opener (she has four options) or a fancy new gadget, she's got you covered. She even sells some local artisanal snacks and bar ingredients. Seriously, I haven't even lived in the area that long and I so miss browsing in this store. I can't wait til it's back, and will keep ordering by phone in the meantime!

Amazing experience and lots of fun!…read more I have been to many cooking classes around the DMV, but this one was so much fun and the best! The Chef/Instructor - Paula was amazing, very detailed and full of cooking tips to inspire you. The class offered was a Pasta Making class which was something I always wanted to do. I consider myself a great cook but pasta making has been something I have not mastered. Welp, I can honestly say after taking this class I left with the tools and skills to definitely hone-in on making exceptional pasta. The technique was well explained. W e even got a chance to produce two full meals to go with the pasta. Pesto Bow Tie Pasta & Pappardelle Pasta w/ Beef Ragu were the recipes of choice. The recipes were super easy to follow along and it was fun to work in teams, while mingling with other foodies in the class who enjoy food like yourself. Not to mention, the finish product was delicious!! In all, the cooking class was outstanding. It's a great date night or place to go with friends. Also, Sur La Table is an excellent store to find any and everything under the sun for the food enthusiast and inner-chef looking for inspiration to create great dishes and cuisines. I highly recommend the cooking class and checking out this store location.

My girlfriend has…read morebeen telling me about the classes that she takes, and she decided to book me one to join her. I have never cooked outside of my home and only for a handful of people, so this was an experience! We showed up around the start time, put on our aprons, and prepared to get to work. It was only four of us in the class, all working at one table... I can't decide whether I'm happy it was a more intimate experience or if I would have preferred more participants so I have less attention to myself since it was my first time... Either way it was an absolute blast. The theme of this class was Spanish date night, so we made this chickpea asparagus dish, cheese-stuffed piquillos, Serrano ham- wrapped cod, and almond empanadas. The instruction was clear, tips were given throughout, and overall I found it to be a very approachable experience. Huge shoutout to Penny for doing a fantastic job. Oh, did I mention I used some new kitchen tools and quite frankly had to buy them in the store immediately after?? So fun.

Not worth the price…read more CLASS: you share a tiny station with 3 people so it's not really interactive as you have to split the cooking part and don't get to learn everything. Most things were already premade or done for us. We just cooked the meat, sides, and decorated the dough. There is no where to sit to eat the food so everyone chows down for 10 minutes and leaves. Couples Date Night Cooking Class = Amazing! In-Store Experience = Needs Work…read more My husband and I attended a Couples Date Night cooking class at Sur La Table in Tysons Galleria, and the class itself was absolutely fantastic. Chef Jonathan was incredible--his instructions were clear, engaging, and easy to follow. The dish we made can definitely be recreated at home because he explained every step so well. His personality and interaction with everyone in the class made the entire evening fun and memorable. The team assisting him during the class was wonderful too. We loved the experience so much that we returned the very next day to purchase several items for our home. The sales associates we interacted with were pleasant and helpful, but unfortunately the manager on duty on 12/7 around 5:30 PM was the complete opposite. She came across as rude and bothered by even the simplest interaction. You could feel her employees walking on eggshells around her--some looked genuinely nervous to ask her a question. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere for both staff and customers. I truly love Sur La Table and especially this Tysons Galleria location, which is why this stood out so much. When customers are spending hundreds--even thousands--of dollars, it's not unreasonable to expect warmth, respect, and professionalism. Chef Jonathan and the cooking class team set the bar incredibly high; I only wish the in-store management reflected the same level of hospitality.

I also compared it to an older cuisineart model that I have to note that difference. Went to return the item within the return period but was told by the manager that because I used it once I can't return it. I read the return policy and it states returns can be made on items in new condition, not unused. Manager did not communicate the correct policy to me. I called customer service and fortunately the person I spoke with simply said that if I wasn't satisfied with the item I could return it. He didn't even say it had to be new or unused. Just be aware if you want to make returns for an item that you tried out and disliked. The manager there that night clearly doesn't understand their own policy. She wasn't very nice either so I'm docking her for lack of customer service.
