I had a frustrating and ultimately dishonest experience at Hiley Chevrolet, Rockwall, TX, on Saturday, March 21, 2026. To be clear, salesperson Michael Joyce was excellent--professional, responsive, and helpful throughout the process. I initially worked with him on Friday, March 20, and nothing that followed reflects on him. The issue arose in the finance office. After waiting roughly 3 hours, I met with the finance manager (forgot his name). Early in the conversation, he made inappropriate personal disclosures, including discussing his role as a pastor and firing an assistant pastor due to an incident/ military combat PTSD. This was unprofessional and irrelevant. I came in pre-approved through USAA at a competitive rate (my credit score is in the high 700s to low 800s). I made it clear I would only consider dealership financing if they could beat my terms. After reviewing their offer, I declined and chose to proceed with my own lender. At that point, the finance manager stepped away briefly, then returned and said they could no longer complete the deal, claiming the dealership would "lose $3,000" if I didn't use their financing. This contradicts the agreed-upon out-the-door price finalized with the sales team, including sales manager Ivan. The deal was effectively withdrawn solely because I refused their financing. This suggests the pricing was contingent on backend profit from financing--something that was never disclosed upfront. I would not recommend this dealership. Took vehicle to the service department of Hiley Chevrolet on Friday, August 14th as scheduled, actually dropped it off 2 hours early and was told that the work on our vehicle would take 4 hours and that it would be ready by end of day at the latest. We didn't hear anything, so we called several times to get a status update on the vehicle but had to leave messages through an AI driven system and placed on eternal hold. We received no calls back making us continue to call until we could get someone on the phone to give us answers. When we finally spoke to someone, they told us that they couldn't read the notes and that they were vague but that our vehicle was not operable because it was up on a lift so it wouldn't be ready as we were told. We were then told that it would be ready on Saturday, my wife told them that we had plans Saturday night that we couldn't miss, we were told that no matter what it would be ready. Saturday we still heard nothing so again we have called multiple times to no avail, prompting us to keep calling back until we got someone on the phone, finally we actually receive the truth. Our vehicle was not worked on, it would not be ready and that the scheduled work wouldn't happen until Monday, but oh yeh vehicle can't be picked up because it is not operable and we can't get a loaner vehicle even though they have screwed us around. The last service advisor we spoke to was very kind and apologetic to my wife, so I give him a compliment but the others? Forget it. I have taken time off work, now we will miss our plans that my wife and I had due to this, we can't find a rental car that we can get today, so we are screwed because the service department doesn't care and they lie to you. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS PLACE IF YOU PLAN ON GETTING IT BACK WHEN YOU NEED IT. I was leary to begin with because I do not trust dealerships but the work I needed done needed to be completed by a Chevrolet Certified Technician, so I took it. Worst decision I could have made. Now my wife is completely destroyed because we will now miss our planned trip, which has cost me more money that I won't get back and has cost my wife a getaway that she has been looking forward to. Forget the lost time at work, my wife crying because of this is the worst thing that could have happened. Thank you Hiley Chevrolet for screwing up my wife's trip, I truly appreciate it. read more

I took my 2017 1500 in for an overheating issue. The service writer and I went to the truck. The truck was hot with coolant in the overflow bottle. No leaks etc.. I told him I was pretty sure the thermostat was bad. I was told the radiator was bad and it was on back order. It could be weeks to get one. Oh he was right! I took the truck in on May 26th and picked it 15 June. On my way home 15 minutes out of the shop guess what? The truck is overheating and left me on the side of the road. It took me hours to get my truck home because of pulling over to let it cool. I was closer to my house than the dealership that is why. I called Hiley service and spoke to my service writer about this. Told him I need a flatbed to pick my truck up and take it back to them to be fixed. I need this repair expedited since I was trading this in on a new truck. I asked him to never let that mechanic work or ever touch my truck again. At 11:30am I had that conversation to have a flatbed sent to me. Nothing have I heard yet. 2:30pm I called and asked to speak to the GM. I was told this is Eric so I and left a voicemail for him to call me. So I wait. This is totally unacceptable in all ways here. To wait three weeks for a part that might have not been bad in the first place. The truck is doing the same thing I took it in for and out of the shop 15 minutes later broke down in the Texas heat. I'm a retired Army combat veteran and don't need this stress in my life. This has made me physically and mentally ill. The job I had in the Army if you didn't do your job someone might be killed. All I asked was for you to fix my truck and give it back to me. Warranty paid for most of the repairs and I booted the other. Total cost to get it out was $2900.00. For a BREAKDOWN!!!!! 1 star is too many. We had a horrible experience purchasing a used car here. Buyer beware. We bought a used EV here. We asked them to perform a battery check before purchase. They kept saying they would do it. We called and they said it was done and ready for us to take home. We drove 40 miles for pick up and the car was not ready. They were having trouble charging the car. We gave them longer for pick up. Every time we called to check on the car nobody knew what was going on. After all the struggles we finally brought the car home only to learn that it would not charge on level 2. $3000 later the level 2 charging is fixed. DO NOT BUY A USED CAR HERE!!!!! I bought a $100,000 Corvette from them 2 weeks ago and noticed when I was washing it yesterday that there is a 5 inch scratch on the rear bumper. I called them so they could fix it and they said there was nothing they can do. So basically, I bought a brand new car, spent a ton of money, and inherited a vehicle with a huge scratch on it, and the dealer will not take care of it. Hiley listed a car on auto trader , car guru and other several other selling mediums for sales price of $9991.00. Plus tax, title, license and documents. There was NO mention of any other charges. I scoured each listing and found NO disclosure for any additional fee to be added to the list price of car. Went to dealer and they handed us a deal that had a charge of $3989 added to list price in addition to the regular fees. Questioned what the fee was for. The salesperson went to manager to ask. Not sure if he was lying or really didn't know. The "fee" we were told was for conditioning the car for sale. Absolutely NOWHERE in the listings was this mentioned. I call this BAIT ANd SWITCH. Instead of listing car for $13980, they baited you with a sales price of $9991, then added the $3989 after you arrive at dealer. The total price with this added $3989 charge and doc fees, tags, etc was $14,836. Any dealer that does business like this deserves to be called out. This is so wrong in so many ways. Hiley Chevrolet is a dishonest dealer that tried to trick a customer that in good faith came to purchase a vehicle based on their numerous listings.
