Cute little place. Nice staff. Good service. Ordered bacon cheeseburger with tots. Started eating and it just got worse the more i ate. Not sure how tots can taste bad but thy did. Burger meat pattie was so thin it was a burger with lots of lettuce & bun and no meat. But it started to taste bad too. Again. Nice staff. I will not return.

Cute place. Mom and pops type food. Fun place to stop on a nice day when you don't want to cook and just want a burger and fry. We got 2 basket meals. Fries are perfect. Goop....omg I love goop. Burgers are yummy smashed burgers. Unfortunately my Sierra Mist was just soda water, no flavor. My husbands was fine. So not sure what happened there. Staff was sweet. Encouraging us to get the meal. Glad she did!!! We've been before and for some reason this was a little better than the time before. I would recommend coming here!!!

Highway 12 always takes care of us. We don't eat buns. They don't treat us like we flew in from Mars. We love this place.

The atmosphere is one of my favorite things about this place. It's fun, lively and has a really great vibe. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and there's a nice little shop right up front with all kinds of cute merchandise. I always enjoy looking around before or after we eat. The food has always been good every time we've been. We've tried several different dishes, and we've never been disappointed. And of course, the beer is really good too! We especially love their Juicy IPA. We usually end up buying a six-pack to take home with us because we enjoy it that much. The only downside I would mention is that the staff can be a little slow and not always the most attentive. They're never unfriendly, which I appreciate, but sometimes it takes a while to get someone's attention or get what you need. It hasn't been enough to keep us from coming back, but it's definitely something I've noticed on our visits. Overall, we really like Talking Cedars. Good food, great beer, a fun atmosphere and a cute little shop make it a place we enjoy coming back to. We'll definitely be back again!

We tried the artichoke dip with crab, which was really good, along with the cheese curds. Our meals were generous portions, and I ordered the salmon cakes--they were flavorful and something I would definitely order again. We finished with the bourbon bread pudding. The dessert portion was on the smaller side and it was definitely sweet, but still very tasty! The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, with a casual distillery feel that made it a comfortable spot to sit and enjoy lunch. Overall, we really enjoyed our lunch--the food was good, portions were generous, and the service made the experience even better. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area!

I had the Pesto Caprese pizza and it was amazing! The balsamic glaze added just the right amount of sweetness to bring together the different flavors. My husband had the NY steak and said it was delicious and cooked to perfection. Our server was very attentive and told us how all the ingredients were locally sourced, which is very good to hear because we like to support local businesses. Lastly, the building is quite beautiful with the exposed brick interior walls. I'm not familiar with the local history so I'm curious as to what this building was originally? We will definitely come back and also check out the market next time.

So Bad It Was Almost Comical…read more My wife and I stopped here for lunch on our drive from Oregon to Seattle. The parking lot was completely full, so after circling around and eventually finding street parking, we figured the place must be popular. Unfortunately, that turned out to be the high point of the experience. The main restaurant was fairly full, so we were seated in a large, dark bar area in the back. And then... nothing happened. For more than 30 minutes. Eventually, a waiter appeared and took our order. Then another 30+ minutes passed before the food arrived. Somehow, even our iced tea didn't make it to the table until the food did. All told, we spent roughly an hour sitting at an empty table without so much as a beverage, and about 90 minutes from the time we arrived until we actually had food in front of us. At that point, the whole experience was becoming almost comical. We ordered a cod burger with fries, a Caesar salad, onion rings and an iced tea. The cod burger was okay. Nothing memorable, but edible. The Caesar salad was actually good. The fries, however, arrived cold, soggy and thoroughly greasy -- quite an accomplishment considering how long we waited for them. The onion rings apparently embarked on a separate journey altogether, because they never arrived. By then, we'd lost the will to ask about them and just gave up. The grand total for one cod burger with cold fries, a small Caesar salad and an iced tea? $40.00! We mentioned the long wait, forgotten food and other problems to our waiter. He was sympathetic and explained that they were short staffed, which we understand can make things difficult. But being short staffed doesn't make a 90-minute lunch, no drinks for an hour, cold soggy fries and forgotten food any less disappointing -- especially at those prices. By the end, we weren't even angry. The whole thing had crossed over into comedy. Needless to say, on future drives between Oregon and Seattle, we'll be finding a different midway lunch stop.

It was a great adventure getting and beautiful site seeing as well. Service was on point, one of the workers there greeted us in our native language and it was a cute highlight and having a beautiful conversation with her. One thing I loved was the chutney mashed peas you put on top with the malt vinegar and tartar sauce. *CHEFS KISS* it was the best bite and I took everyone's mashed peas. All around 9/10 for us. After a round of golf, we tried calling again, still no one picked up the phone, after 20 minutes, we decided that this is our last try before going to a pizza place. Then magic happened, someone actually picked up the phone, we decided to order to go since we figured it might be packed. Turned out the whole place was empty when we arrived to pick up our order. What?! Finally, the food, yes, it is actually the only fish and chips that is worth trying in Seattle. Fried fish, tender and juicy on the inside, thinly or lightly batter on the outside, although some area are starting to feel soggy because it was steamed in the Togo bag. But overall, still good. Fried oysters - so fresh and delicious, I can totally skip the fish and eat this all day long. We traded the fries/chips for the mashed peas and loved it. Hopefully, they improve the ordering system in the future. Otherwise, it can get quite frustrated.
