Needless to say, my tenant in CO (I'm in NY) was quite frustrated. By 11:30am Matthew had responded to my call and confirmed a plan forward, despite being booked all day. By Saturday afternoon, the furnace was fixed and all was well. Matthew provided concerns about the almost-20-year-old furnace, and made sure I wanted to pay for the quick fix that Saturday, knowing I'd have to replace additional, larger parts sooner than later. He later looked at the prices of blower motors and shared those with me. I will be hiring Matthew again to do this additional work and trust he will do a good job! Thank you!

He showed me everything he was doing as he did it, including pics of the more damaged parts of the unit, so I wouldn't have to climb up on the ladder myself. It was really great to find someone willing to come downtown and work on the heat pump (no parking close by, mid-rise building with awkward placement of unit in hard-to-reach area in crawlspace above the bathroom) that was also really reasonable. Great job! Would definitely call them again.

Despite some of the negative reviews I read about Breathe Fresh, I decided to hire them because most of the bad reviews were not that recent. I spoke with Bobby on the phone and he gave me a quote to clean our air ducts, fireplace and chimney. The next day I texted him to schedule the service and at the end he asked me to text him the address and the price he quoted me. I thought that was strange. Even more strange is that I was asked again the day of by Jon, who actually did the service, as he didn't know what the quoted price was either. Furthermore, Jon also had to ask me what service was being performed. Jon was great! He explained everything as he was doing it and showed me some before and after photos. The one knock on the actual service is that Jon left all of our vents closed, which I did not discover until a couple days later when I realized that the heater was running more often and for longer than usual. I didn't expect this because he ran the fan for almost 20 minutes before leaving to "get the air circulating." Not sure much was circulating though given the closed vents, but that's not the reason for the 2-star review. Keep reading... The first fire I burned in the fireplace after the cleaning resulted in a smokey odor in the house the next day. It was fine while the fire was burning, and I'm certain the damper was open, so I don't believe this to be an error on my part. I'm not claiming it has anything to do with the work that Jon did (or didn't do), but I contacted Bobby to share this info with the hopes that they'd come out to investigate. It had been a week since I burned a fire, but the odor didn't diminish despite the damper being closed and windows being opened during the day. Instead, I developed a cough and my eyes burned. I explained this to Bobby in my communication with him, but it didn't spark any urgency on his end. The timeline of our communication was as follows: Tue 12/12 @ 12:55 pm: I texted Bobby informing him of odor and asking for a good time to chat on the phone. Wed 12/13 @ 9:10 am: I called and left a message for Bobby since I got no response to my previous day's text. Wed 12/13 @ 5:49 pm: Bobby calls and leaves a voicemail, apologizes for missing my call earlier, and says to call him back or text for a faster response. I was at a holiday party, so was unable to answer or respond that evening. Thu 12/14 @ 10:15 am: I text Bobby (as instructed by his voicemail) and gave him a couple time slots in which I'd be available for a call that day. It is now 5:54 pm on Fri 12/15 and I still have not heard back from Bobby. Unfortunately I've had to hire another company to come out and investigate the potential causes for the odor, and I regret having hired Breathe Fresh in the first place. Based on reviews, it appears that Breathe Fresh does great work most of the time. In this instance, I'm discouraged by the lack of follow-through and the apparent disregard for quality customer service.

We had our vents and dryer outlet done. We had a full birds nest in our dryer vent and had no idea it was almost 100% clogged. A HUGE fire hazard that we had no idea about, which was extra scary given that we have our first baby coming in a month. I read reviews like you're reading now, and wondered if they were real. I found Premium Duct Cleaners after a failed Groupon purchase for another company. The first…read morecompany was not able to do the work on my system, which is apparently unique. Brandon from Premium returned my call the same day, even though he was on vacation. He put me on his schedule and offered me his Groupon rate. Brandon did the work himself with the help of another employee and was thorough. As expected, there was dust, but we covered the few items in the house and had waited to move stuff in knowing it could get covered in dirt. They didn't think the ducts had ever been cleaned before. They removed about 50 lbs of dust and debris. I wish we'd taken "before" photos, because the results are tremendous. What we thought were shallow gray openings beneath our vents are actually deep and are different colors. I can detect a difference in the smell when the heater is running. My husband asked him to look at some issues noted in our inspection report, and he did. They even replaced our air filter for us while they were in there. I have no idea what duct cleaning should cost. I know that the $50 Groupons at other places always have additional costs incurred (or, in my case, are refunded because they can't do the work), and those who don't offer Groupons started at $600. That's a BIG range. But for the work they did and all the debris they removed, we're satisfied with Premium and with what we paid. We also got a discount by paying with cash.
