I woke up this Monday, took a sip of coffee, and was almost taken down with an intense spike of pain in my mouth. I tried to "walk it off" all day, but by that evening emailed my dentist. Tuesday I was in for x-rays and an exam, then immediately got a referral to EA. I went to the EA website and filled out an online medical history and sent a message for an appointment. I missed their callback late Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday I was able to contact them and set an appointment with Elizabeth, who asked about my symptoms and was able to get me into a slot where someone had cancelled for Friday. I am so thankful, because the symptoms (i.e. PAIN) grew more severe to the point that Thursday evening, I wondered whether I would be capable of driving the 16 miles from my home to the office with such an intense distraction. Friday I got to the office right on time. Check in was very quick and the front office service was on-top-of-it! They looked up my electronic med. history submission. I forgot the hard copy of my dentist's referral, but remembered I had scanned it so I just emailed it from my phone and they printed it out for the treatment team. Both the assistant and Dr. Hoelscher were very empathetic, focused, and efficient. Exam/testing, diagnosis, and treatment took a little over an hour for my infected / necrotic tooth root. The doctor was sensitive to any reaction from me and carefully "topped off" sensitive sites with local anesthetic injections during the treatment and gave a time estimate of when they would be complete with the work. She was happy to explain any questions I had about the treatment, gave me optional prescriptions for a couple of the most common post-treatment complications, and I was on my way. Saturday I got a follow-up call from Dr. Hoelscher to see how I was doing. Weekend check-in for the win.

We do not recommend this business for several very serious reasons:…read more 1) My husband fainted when they administered his anesthetic. They should know how to do this without this effect on a patient. 2) We were not given any discharge papers with instructions on required medications for his healing. 3) They prescribed antibiotics he had listed an extreme allergy to. Had he not realized and taken them we would have landed in the hospital. At his follow-up visit, Dr. Malek offered no apology or accountability for the failings of her or her staff. Please be cautious about where you book dental work and pay close attention the treatment you receive regardless of where you go. Incorrect treatment can have very serious implications.

When entering Lone Tree Endodontics, a sincere greeting with delightful smile; genuine comforting and welcoming presentation! Dr. Farmer, is honest with his exams! Redheads are noted to be highly sensitive is an understatement! Yet Dr Farmer's Scholarly and Great Skills, couple with a sense of humor eases any patient in his chair while stating; "I have to Poke you!" OK? I could barely feel the first two numbing shots, only a slight sting, (Immediate RELIEF) for a deep root canal; by the 4th or 5th shot, my jaw was delightful NUMBED! Dr. Farmer's phenomenal skills and CARE with candid sense of humor, treatment will ease any patient. Assisting Dr. Farmer was Mitch, very tender and caring person with equal Endodontics knowledge. Dr. Farmer's focused commitment made what normally is finger-gripping, an ease to move through during procedure. The next day, NO residual PAIN! Diet is recommended coupled with after care. Recommendations for the following two weeks, the comfort after a "Root Canal" is more than appreciated. Billing is simple and understandable, plus up front! Highly recommended!

I was referred by my general dentist when I had developed symptoms of a dental abscess. I'm 29 and…read moreeverything dental care related has always been high stress for me. I'm aware that I'm anxious, this is why I ask for nitrous for most dental procedures. When I asked, he tried to talk me out of it. One of his arguments was that "anxiety is all in your head." (I wish I was joking but those are the actual words he used.) Which is absolutely not helpful, you're my endodontist not my therapist. You can't undo 22 years of horrible dental experiences by telling the patient it's all in their head. He asked if I had any questions and I asked what signs to look for in the future so that if this happens again, I can get help before it gets this bad. He said he wasn't going to tell me because I'd just agonize over it. This was after going over my extensive medical history, I think he'd decided I was a hypochondriac because I have about 12 conditions almost no one has heard of. I tried to stand up for myself, insisted on nitrous. Finally he said okay and gave it to me for the numbing and then removed it for the entire rest of the procedure. Don't get me wrong, getting numb isn't fun, but seriously? I can definitely handle getting numb without nitrous. I paid $70 to get nitrous for 5-10 minutes. When he removed the nitrous, he said "see that's much better, now I'm much less anxious". The mask was making things more challenging for him, wish I could have told him his anxiety was all in his head. Things would have been a lot different if he'd said nitrous wouldn't work because the mask blocks part of the area he needed to work on, I'd still have been anxious, but at least it would have been a real reason and not a cheap shot at my anxiety. They're about to slice open your gums, what part of that wouldn't give someone at least a little anxiety? The most anxiety inducing part of the entire procedure was being dismissed and repeatedly told why it was acceptable for him to dismiss me. I then laid there for the entire procedure with tears streaming down my face, they wouldn't stop. I kept trying to put up my boundaries and communicate what I needed but at every turn I was dismissed, belittled, or just flat out ignored. At one point there was something that was at a weird angle and I had 4 different people working on my mouth for a couple minutes. No idea who two of them were. Never introduced them or anything. He did explain what was going to happen before starting and explained some things at different points as he went. Basically letting me know I was going to hear a new sound. I wish I'd been in a position to go somewhere else but I hadn't eaten in almost 24 hours because it hurt to even drink water, let alone have food. He was arrogant, rude, dismissive, and uncooperative. I have never left a dentist appt feeling as violated as I did that day. It felt like I wasn't even a person. That said, everything healed the way it was supposed to. So if you don't care about your doc being a condescending prick that doesn't let you finish your sentence, then yeah, sure, Dr Farmer is a great choice.

The infection persisted despite antibiotics, and I remained in severe pain. I had to insist on having the molar pulled. The extraction took over 2.5 hours and was extremely traumatic. It was like the doctor was jack hammering my mouth. I was then charged another $2,000 for a single tooth removal and that added trauma. Afterward, stitches and a plastic membrane caused weeks of pain, and I ended up removing the stitches myself. A month later, the plastic worked its way out of my gum. This was an expensive, painful, and poorly handled experience. Do not see this doctor if you have a previous root canal or crown that needs to be replaced. It's all about the revenue that they want to bring in. I was told payment in full was necessary even when the procedure was not completed. That should be illegal!!!!!

Despite that, Evolution Orthodontics repeated the same process and made a $495 3D scan mandatory, which is not covered by insurance and far above the Colorado average of $150-$300. On top of that, they took two more X-rays, charged a separate doctor consultation fee, and gave me a $4,000 estimate for the two root canals, which does NOT include crowns. They only do the surgery and refer you elsewhere for the rest -- meaning more time, more money, and more appointments. I deeply regret not researching ahead. If you're in pain and feel rushed, please take the time to compare pricing. Nothing here is bundled, and costs are stacked aggressively for services that other clinics either include or don't repeat unnecessarily.
