I was referred by my general dentist when I had developed symptoms of a dental abscess. I'm 29 and everything dental care related has always been high stress for me. I'm aware that I'm anxious, this is why I ask for nitrous for most dental procedures. When I asked, he tried to talk me out of it. One of his arguments was that "anxiety is all in your head." (I wish I was joking but those are the actual words he used.) Which is absolutely not helpful, you're my endodontist not my therapist. You can't undo 22 years of horrible dental experiences by telling the patient it's all in their head. He asked if I had any questions and I asked what signs to look for in the future so that if this happens again, I can get help before it gets this bad. He said he wasn't going to tell me because I'd just agonize over it. This was after going over my extensive medical history, I think he'd decided I was a hypochondriac because I have about 12 conditions almost no one has heard of. I tried to stand up for myself, insisted on nitrous. Finally he said okay and gave it to me for the numbing and then removed it for the entire rest of the procedure. Don't get me wrong, getting numb isn't fun, but seriously? I can definitely handle getting numb without nitrous. I paid $70 to get nitrous for 5-10 minutes. When he removed the nitrous, he said "see that's much better, now I'm much less anxious". The mask was making things more challenging for him, wish I could have told him his anxiety was all in his head. Things would have been a lot different if he'd said nitrous wouldn't work because the mask blocks part of the area he needed to work on, I'd still have been anxious, but at least it would have been a real reason and not a cheap shot at my anxiety. They're about to slice open your gums, what part of that wouldn't give someone at least a little anxiety? The most anxiety inducing part of the entire procedure was being dismissed and repeatedly told why it was acceptable for him to dismiss me. I then laid there for the entire procedure with tears streaming down my face, they wouldn't stop. I kept trying to put up my boundaries and communicate what I needed but at every turn I was dismissed, belittled, or just flat out ignored. At one point there was something that was at a weird angle and I had 4 different people working on my mouth for a couple minutes. No idea who two of them were. Never introduced them or anything. He did explain what was going to happen before starting and explained some things at different points as he went. Basically letting me know I was going to hear a new sound. I wish I'd been in a position to go somewhere else but I hadn't eaten in almost 24 hours because it hurt to even drink water, let alone have food. He was arrogant, rude, dismissive, and uncooperative. I have never left a dentist appt feeling as violated as I did that day. It felt like I wasn't even a person. That said, everything healed the way it was supposed to. So if you don't care about your doc being a condescending prick that doesn't let you finish your sentence, then yeah, sure, Dr Farmer is a great choice. read more

I was referred here by my dentist because I needed a root canal done on a very painful tooth. They were able to get me in the same day and did the root canal at that visit. Needless to say I was not excited or looking forward to this at all. This office though was fantastic and the staff here are amazing and super nice. I saw Dr. Farmer and he did a great job! I like that they offer nitrous oxide as well as I have severe anxiety of the dentist. This helped tremendously with the procedure and kept me way calmer than I would have been without it. They also have tvs on the ceiling to help keep you calm and they allow you to choose a show/ movie to watch during the procedure which is a great way to keep you distracted as well which was a huge plus. If I have to have another procedure like this (hopefully not) I will come back here! read more

I need an emergency root canal and my dentist referred me to this group; he said that's where he'd go if he needed a root canal! I called and spoke with Alex who was incredibly sweet and amazingly accommodating as I got right in! I was beyond impressed with how nice the settings of the office were; clean, bright and contemporary. Loved the music they play, too! Alex became my new best friend as she sat with me the entire time of my procedure. She is an exemplary Dental Technician and is a credit to the trade! Dr. Farmer is funny and thorough. I have to return in a couple of weeks for a bit more treatment and I'm looking forward to being there! I've seen Dr. Parry twice recently for a root canal on a front tooth experiencing resorption following a traumatic injury years ago when I was kid. There is likely no part of my body that has caused me so much anxiety over the years, so needless to say, the thought of a root canal on one of these teeth made me nauseous with dread. Dr. Parry understood my anxiety and gave several suggestions of ways to deal with it. One of them, anti-anxiety meds did the trick. That, combined with amazing chair-side manner from both Dr. Parry and his staff made it a tolerable experience. I don't think anyone would ever describe a root canal as enjoyable, and this wasn't, to no fault of anyone. I had a root canal at Lone Tree Endontics yesterday, and it was very pleasant! That was a nice surprise. The receptionist was friendly and quickly directed me back. Dr Eck and her assistant Alex were very warm and welcoming. I felt zero pain or discomfort aside from the numbing agent, maybe--very minimal.) During the procedure the conversation between Dr Eck and Alex incuded me. Alex continually checked on me, to be sure I was doing okay. Otherwise--I had mentioned how much I loved the play list, for example, and they talked about the music. They didn't talk about personal things that excluded me. (That sometimes makes you feel like an object in the room, unintentionally). That politeness went a long way toward my feeling of comfort during a time everyone generally dreads. I just went to Lone Tree Endodontics for the first time and had the best dental experience of my life. That is saying a lot because I am 67 years old and have been in the dentist chair since I was six. Unfortunately I normally experience tremendous anxiety before, during, and after going to the dentist due to numerous bad experiences. I was in severe pain from a toothache. To the point I was sitting at my work desk sobbing. I was able to find a same day dentist appointment. Sure enough I needed a root canal. They then called around and found this endodontist, Dr. Parry, that could see me in 30 minutes so I didn't have to go through the weekend in agony. We initially saw Dr. Parry and we were so pleased that they got my daughter in at the end of the day. He was very helpful and kind. We scheduled a root canal but had to call and ask for an appt sooner because she was in so much pain. They were so accomodating and friendly. I'm never one to write reviews, but I've also never had such a "pleasurable" dental experience. Dr. Parry and his entire staff are professional, kind, clearly great at their jobs, and comforting. I was coping with a lot of pain in an infected tooth and needing my first root canal-- which presented a lot of anxiety for me. Dr. Parry and his staff immediately put me at ease (and even rubbed my arm during the difficult time of the procedure!) Although the infection is more complicated than I hoped, and I do have to return to the office for another procedure; I am not worried at all about the quality of care I will receive. I had a consultation for trigeminal nerve pain that my primary dentist could not find the source. I literally can't say enough about Dr. Parry and his staff. From Patsy to Michelle, the whole office will literally bend over backwards to take care of me. Not only do they always do their best to schedule in an emergency, but they are constantly checking in to make sure I am comfortable during the surgery and after! I have never before been convinced to visit the same endodontic practice more than once, let alone the 5-6 times I have been back to see Dr. Parry. He is an absolute pro when treating without pain and also, dealing with someone with high anxiety. I agree completely with Diane A's review on 03/29/2017! Dr. Parry and his staff are warm, comforting, extremely good at their jobs, and make up a cohesive team. Dr. Parry is a wizard at numbing. His topical anesthetic and his skill made the Novocaine application painless. That meant that my procedure was likewise painless. Throughout the time I was in the chair, it was very apparent that Dr Parry and his assistants cared about how I was doing. Never have I had as "enjoyable" an experience receiving a root canal as I did with Dr. Parry and his staff. It's been over a decade since I had one and I remember and was reminded by my friends and coworkers about how bad it would be. How wrong we all were! I was treated like royalty, Netflix or Pandora etc. if I wanted it but I didn't need it. All I can say is Dr. Parry is AMAZING!!!! I cracked a tooth on a late Friday night and all day Saturday it was killing me. I didn't know what to do considering we were taking a family trip to Europe for 10 days on Monday. I called him and he said meet me at my office now and we will get you taken care of. I HATE going to the dentist etc. he gave me laughing gas and put on pandora and handed me the remote so I was in control. Everything went great!!! He was so professional and explained everything he was doing before and as he was doing it. I have to see him again in a couple weeks for my follow up and permanent filling and then see my awesome dentist Adam Almeida who's office is right above Dr. Parry's to get my crown done. If I could do more than 5 stars I would give him a million!!!!! He did 3 root canals for my step-daughter after she broke several teeth after falling over a couch as he dad was chasing her.
