I'm aware that I'm anxious, this is why I ask for nitrous for most dental procedures. When I asked, he tried to talk me out of it. One of his arguments was that "anxiety is all in your head." (I wish I was joking but those are the actual words he used.) Which is absolutely not helpful, you're my endodontist not my therapist. You can't undo 22 years of horrible dental experiences by telling the patient it's all in their head. He asked if I had any questions and I asked what signs to look for in the future so that if this happens again, I can get help before it gets this bad. He said he wasn't going to tell me because I'd just agonize over it. This was after going over my extensive medical history, I think he'd decided I was a hypochondriac because I have about 12 conditions almost no one has heard of. I tried to stand up for myself, insisted on nitrous. Finally he said okay and gave it to me for the numbing and then removed it for the entire rest of the procedure. Don't get me wrong, getting numb isn't fun, but seriously? I can definitely handle getting numb without nitrous. I paid $70 to get nitrous for 5-10 minutes. When he removed the nitrous, he said "see that's much better, now I'm much less anxious". The mask was making things more challenging for him, wish I could have told him his anxiety was all in his head. Things would have been a lot different if he'd said nitrous wouldn't work because the mask blocks part of the area he needed to work on, I'd still have been anxious, but at least it would have been a real reason and not a cheap shot at my anxiety. They're about to slice open your gums, what part of that wouldn't give someone at least a little anxiety? The most anxiety inducing part of the entire procedure was being dismissed and repeatedly told why it was acceptable for him to dismiss me. I then laid there for the entire procedure with tears streaming down my face, they wouldn't stop. I kept trying to put up my boundaries and communicate what I needed but at every turn I was dismissed, belittled, or just flat out ignored. At one point there was something that was at a weird angle and I had 4 different people working on my mouth for a couple minutes. No idea who two of them were. Never introduced them or anything. He did explain what was going to happen before starting and explained some things at different points as he went. Basically letting me know I was going to hear a new sound. I wish I'd been in a position to go somewhere else but I hadn't eaten in almost 24 hours because it hurt to even drink water, let alone have food. He was arrogant, rude, dismissive, and uncooperative. I have never left a dentist appt feeling as violated as I did that day. It felt like I wasn't even a person. That said, everything healed the way it was supposed to. So if you don't care about your doc being a condescending prick that doesn't let you finish your sentence, then yeah, sure, Dr Farmer is a great choice.

Holly Dental - Dr. Nielson Review…read more I hate leaving bad reviews, but my experience at Holly Dental has been nothing short of a nightmare. Three weeks ago, I had two fillings done--one on the front bottom right and another in the back bottom right. As soon as the Novocaine wore off, I was in severe pain, which was completely unexpected since I've had many fillings in the past without any issues. For three days, I was popping ibuprofen every eight hours just to manage the pain. It was unbearable! I finally went back to Dr. Nielson, who told me I had a gum infection from the numbing shot and prescribed antibiotics. However, even after finishing the antibiotics, the pain persisted. Dr. Nielson then referred me to an endodontist to rule out the need for a root canal. Thankfully, all the tests came back negative, so no root canal was necessary. But here I am, still dealing with pain in my right ear and jaw, which sometimes radiates down my neck. To make matters worse, the area behind my right bottom teeth is swollen every morning. I've attached a picture taken just one week after the fillings, showing clear damage to my gums. I expected a routine dental procedure to be just that--routine. Instead, I've been left in constant discomfort and frustration. I can't recommend Holly Dental based on my experience. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

The front desk staff is awfull, do not tell them anything you don't want the office manager to know, The dentist doesn't explain anything to you. If you want a dentist that cares do not see this dentist. To make matters worse, the procedure I came in for was getting an implant, so first thing was to pull my teeth on April of 2022 and then I had to wait 4 months for it to heal, then he did the bone graft and I had to wait another 4 months and then he put the implant in and I had to wait another 4 months. So far I had to wait 1 year before I could put a cap on. Then I went to my dentist to get a cap and he did not use the right material and the bone was decaying which has nothing to do with the wrong material. My dentist called this dentist and he told him that the bone was decaying so he said he would take care of the tooth for free. He removed the implant and did the bone graft again and I had to wait another 4 months and when I went back he took an xray and he said he had to do another bone graft. After he added another bone graft I had to wait another 4 months. When I went up front and asked a simple question from the staff of why he didn't put enough bone the first time and was told by one of the nurses that 25% of the time this happens, The next time I went in, I was chewed out by the office manager and she told me that I am ungrateful and he is doing this work for free and I should find another surgeon and I have a cheap dentist and it's my body that is messed up and not the dentist's work. On 11/23/2025 I received a package from 5280 oral surgery with all of my records and he stated that the office dropped me as a patient. On 12/16 I had an appointment for an xray of the bone graft and no one called me to say that my appointment was cancelled. When I showed up on time, he made me wait an hour and all the patients were gone and he said I am not his patient anymore and he will not do anything for me and when I asked for my back he said no and my dentist did not use the correct material and that's why the bone was failing which make no sense and it's not true after talking to multiple surgeons. I did find a much better surgeon who guarantees his work. If your dentist refers you to this office, don't go and save yourself from a headache and dealing with unprofessional staff. Overall, I left 5280 oral surgery feeling like just another number rather than a patient whose teeth mattered. Stay away from this office and they don't have a professional office staff.
