Rude, dismissive, and no bedside manner. I wasn't numbed up enough, which unfortunately, I didn't find out until the actual drill went into my mouth for the root canal. I yelped out in pain and to stop, and he yelled back at me "ALRIGHT, DONE!" Didn't even ask if I was okay- his assistant about 30 years younger-stayed with me since he walked out after yelling at me. I should have listened to my inner voice when before the procedure, when he was dismissive and slick regarding my questions. Will be filing a complaint with the board. I am giving Dr. Hahn two stars only because he has a great staff. His receptionist Sherry is very kind and professional. His assistant Loretta was kind and compassionate. That being said, Dr Hahn was arrogant, rude and dismissive. He must have told me 5 times that he was one of the top endodontists in Denver. His 5280 recommendation must have gone to his head. Anyone who knows anything about those recommendations, know that it is a popularity contest. I suspect that Dr. Hahn spends lavishly at the golf course to entertain dentists for referrals. That would explain his bare bones office. So many dentists have a TV or a set of headphones to help distract you. There wasn't even an old magazine while I waited and waited for him with no other patients in the office. And certainly no nitrous oxide. God forbid he make a patient comfortable. I could have gotten past the bare bones office but could get past his demeanor. I did not have my root canal done there. He told me (through his assistant), to come back another day as I was too nervous. Well, since he started poking around in my mouth without telling me what he was doing, yes, I got very nervous. I seriously got the impression that he was too busy in his office arranging golf plans to bother doing my tooth. Good riddance Dr. Hahn. What a jerk. read more

Dr. Hahn and his staff are great! They explained everything in detail (this was my very first root canal) and were friendly and patient the whole time. I have to admit I was really really nervous but the procedure was over in a matter of minutes and you can tell they are pro's at what they do. They also double checked my local anesthetic to make sure I was completely numb and when I said I could still feel a little they gave me more to be certain I wasn't in pain at all. If you are nervous about getting a root canal call Dr. Hahn's office they will put your mind at ease and get the procedure done as quickly and as painlessly as possible. To be honest, Dr. Hahn has never worked on my mouth, but that is EXACTLY why I am leaving him a great review! My regular dentist here in Colorado Springs said I needed a root canal and new crown on the same tooth. Dr. Hahn was recommended for the root canal, and my regular dentist would do the new crown over the root canal. I made an appointment with Dr. Hahn, and he scheduled time for my procedure. When I went in for my root canal (with much trepidation I should add), Dr. Hahn said he could see nothing from my X rays unusual with the tooth in question. After asking me if I had any problems with the tooth (which I didn't) and testing the tooth with a freezing technique, Dr. Hahn said he could not find anything to warrant a root canal and subsequent new crown. I was suddenly in total relief and around $1500 richer than I would have been if I had gone to an endodontist who might have just said "(I scheduled this time to get paid, so) Yup! You need work done and your other dentist has already convinced you that it needs to be done so OPEN UP!!". I have now changed dentists to All Smiles Dental Group here in Colorado Springs where Dr. Christopher Hahn practices. Obviously if you are reading this you are doing some research on Endodontics and need a root canal. I did! I'm not being a 'Used Car Salesman' when I tell you that you can stop your research now - you've found your doctor. I saw all the great reviews on this site for Dr. Hahn and decided to have him do my work. I can confirm, and now reiterate, the great things others have written in their own reviews of Dr. Hahn. My root was seriously infected, the tissue was dead, and I was in fear that the procedure was no longer a viable option. I had put myself in the position of potentially needing a very costly implant. Dr. Hahn and his staff are incredibly personable. His skills and expertise are a ten. And yes, he saved my tooth! Good Luck to whoever is reading this. In 2013, Dr. Hahn performed two root canal surgeries for me. I had a positive experience and was extremely satisfied with his work. As a matter of fact, I returned to this endodontist today for another root canal procedure. My experience was once again very positive. Dr. Hahn, as usual, was polite, focused on the procedure, extremely knowledgeable and humble. Dr. Hahn's performance was so amazing that I went to sleep during the procedure. I had the unfortunate luck of needing two root canals within six months. I saw Dr. Hahn for both visits and he was fantastic. Thorough, pain-free, and quick. Dr. Hahn and Loretta made the procedures simple and were very informative. It's easy to schedule an appointment with their office and they went above and beyond to maximize my insurance coverage. I found Dr Hahn in the 5280. This is my 2nd experience with having a root canal and this was SO much better than my first one! I'm normally not a bad review writer, but this needs to be said. I went to Dr Hahn last summer for a Root Canal. He was referred to me by my regular dentist, whom I love and trust, so I didn't think twice about using him for my procedure. The day of the root canal, he couldn't get the tooth numb. We found this out when he started drilling into the tooth. I know some teeth are tricky to get numb (or so I've heard) but this tooth, I was assured by 2 other dentists, should have been very very easy. He couldn't give me any more novocain as they were at their legal limits. Instead I had to schedule an appointment to be consciously sedated at another office while Dr. Hahn preformed the root canal. Dr. Hahn did the procedure in about 10 minutes total. A time he bragged to me about afterwards. Not something a patient wants to hear!!! I understand he was happy, but this is my body and not some timed speed endodontics race. I was annoyed, but figured I was on the mend. Fast forward to the next day when I was in excruciating pain! I've had 2 other root canals so I understand the level of pain I should expect. This was not that pain. I knew something was wrong right away. After a couple days I went back in to do final x-rays and he said everything looked great. He took the tooth down a little so I wasn't hitting it and I was hoping that would fix it...even though in my gut I knew this wasn't going to fix it. He was completely and UTTERLY dismissive of my pain, despite me mentioning multiple times just how bad my mouth hurt and that this was not "normal" root canal pain, for me. Normal pain for me is more of a dull ache. This was stabbing, piercing pain if I even so much as touched my tongue on my tooth. Really, no exaggeration. This piercing pain subsided a touch over the next couple of weeks, but it was still very acute, and stabbing. Like a lightening bolt. This went on for MONTHS. I refused to go back to him and was treated by my regular dentist who took the tooth totally out of occlusion so I wasn't hitting it...at ALL. Fast forward now to nearly a year and a half later and that tooth is STILL GIVING ME PROBLEMS!!! I finally told my regular dentist to send me to the best specialist she knows in endodontics. She told me to go see Dr. Jahde. I went to see him this morning and he took multiple x-rays from many different angles and low and behold, the x-rays reviled that Dr. Hahn didn't completely fill the two main roots!!!! For the past year this is what my gut was telling me, but I was reassured with x-rays that the root canal looked good. Not so! FINALLY I have some answers and it was what I thought all along. I thought, either they didn't go far enough or there was another small root that was missed. Yep! So now, my options are to have the root tips surgically removed, have a re-treat which is likely not covered by insurance, or to have the tooth removed and and an implant put in. None are good options and all will be very expensive and painful. Maybe Dr. Hahn should have spent a few more minutes on my tooth instead of bragging about his speed. Would have saved me the past year and a half of pain and frustration...not to mention the extreme expense I will have incurred once all is said and done. I know this review is long and ranty, but I would NEVER recommend this man. I had such a bad experience. He was rude, arrogant and dismissive...but only after there was a problem and I was suggesting things weren't perfect. Go to Dr. Eric Jahde. He was a ray of hope! read more
