I was really excited about this place number one because it's in Colorado one of my favorite places in the world. The coffee I ordered, latte was good and worth going back for I love the fact that it was in this quaint little house with all these cool knickknacks and photos so the atmosphere was very Denver, very downtown even though it's not, and I felt like it was cozy. The service was OK unfortunately we got there towards the end. I think we had about 30 minutes and we told them when we came in. We just wanted coffee and to use the restroom which to be fair wasn't really that impressive to them. We were definitely not intending to stay long. We really just needed to use the facilities and you have to buy something in order to use them. My only thing is is I didn't need to be reminded every five minutes we sat by the door and left 10 minutes before it closed. But I guess also to be fair. Maybe other people don't do that. I came here to grade some papers after one of my colleagues suggested some new Cafes to see. I have to say I am in love with the highlands area and glad I came across this spot. A little dive spot in an old house but it has a certain charm to it. I got the kiko's panini and a house coffee with an espresso shot. The panini was good but a bit heavy so trust me water is needed. However, the flavors pair very well. Sitting outside while the weather is cool is very nice and I bet it's beautiful at night with the lights. This is a great spot to work solo or to come with friends or a date night. I plan on coming back here in the future. read more

Great outdoor space that is dog friendly. The patio is partially covered giving you the option of sun/shade. The inside is cute but very small with one single bathroom, which is perfectly fine except for when it's crowded. Service can be a little slow for food. You get your drinks right away once you order. Second time here. First time, we were rushed. This time, we had some time, and they have a whole new bar area for seating. We will definitely come back now that we can sit there. Anyway, I had the Hector Panini and it was great again. Lots of delicious pesto flavor on a breakfast sandwich. They have LOADS of hot sauce, so look around the store for that magical shelf. You can go grab a non-alcoholic beverage or grab some breakfast booze too. Staff was solid and very friendly. I look forward to my third time when I try and not order the Hector sandwich. Went across town 'cause for the last couple of weeks I've been on a quest for the best quiche in the city and one of my homies (on Yelp Talk) told me that I needed to try out the Bug & Belle Bakery in Highlands. Well, as you might note from my adjacent review of B&B it's now closed. Bummed out by the sign on the door I trudged back to my car only to look up and see Highlands Cork & Coffee right across the street. On a whim I called them up (from 50' away:) and asked the critical question, "Hey, do you have quiche on the menu?" The response brought a smile to my previously frowny face when the sweetest of voices said, "Why honey I'm just taking one out of the oven as we speak." "Cut me a slice and I'll be over in 72 seconds," I said. And darn if I didn't walk through the door as she was setting that cheddar/bacon/spinach/onion quiche slice right on a plate and serving it up with a cup of some freshly brewed Lavazza coffee. The quiche? Good but not great. A little bit listless crust and decent but not spectacular filing flavors met my quiche-needs but didn't send me over the moon in the taste department. Walked to this cute house, turned cafe with some friends and had a lovely time catching up on their patio. The outdoor spaces are great and it didn't feel too crowded at all. The line to place your order can take a long time because one person takes your order and makes your coffee or drinks on the spot. We were lucky and didn't have anyone in front of us but we did take a while for the folks behind us. I ordered an iced chai tea latte and a bacon breakfast burrito. The chai was fantastic, perfect amount of spice. The burrito was good, with the green chili giving it some heat but not overwhelming. I love this place! Great highlands cafe spot. This is great for breakfast, lunch, coffee, or work time. There is ample space outside on the patio to work, but not as much inside - as it's a renovated old house & small. It's a populary spot - always crowded, and the food can take a while because of that, but it's a small place & not a lot of staff. Understandable. I'm always satisfied with the food, because most of it is paninis, and I LOVE paninis. I'd say they're pretty average as compared to others I've had, but still taste great. This was the cutest little cafe. In an old cottage like home in the heart of highlands with a good area to sit inside as well as outside on a beautiful Colorado day. Everything they do here they do well. Offering great coffee and amazing breakfast, my favorite being the Kiki breakfast sandwich which has a tomato pesto that is straight up to die for. I meandered into the neighborhood and decided to try this venue, as it was crowded with customers, had fun artwork, and a variety of seating options. I must admit, however, I was a bit disappointed in the service and food quality. The wait/line was about 15 minutes and only three employees were working. I ordered Hector's Breakfast Panini with a side of bacon and waited 45 minutes for my sandwich to arrive. Seriously. It wasn't even that crowded after I had ordered. I was a bit irritated that I could've filled that time with something a bit more productive and meaningful, but was eager to try the meal. My food arrives (picture attached) - I'm sure you can guess my emotions; the redeeming ingredient in the panini was the pesto, the bacon was 1-2 strips cut into bite-size pieces, and the "seasonal fruit" was two slices of an orange (I'm not a fan of oranges, so I was hoping for a more diverse spread). Large side patio with twinkle lights, cute porch and cozy layout inside to make you feel right at home! The sweet barista at the bar quickly noticed me and took our order - a large house coffee and Hector's breakfast Panini (grilled focaccia bread with egg, basil pesto, spicy capicola,and provolone!) for me and a spicy, green chili smothered burrito for my guest. Although I was exited to try their coffee, I was a little disappointed in finding that it was in a thermos at a "server yourself" bar. The coffee was okay - nothing amazing, but the food was much better! Both meals were delicious, full of flavor and unique! Prices aren't too bad for this neighborhood either :) We dined on the patio and chatted the morning away - which was so nice! I rarely write reviews, but this experience was so frustrating that I have to. We arrived for brunch at 11am on Sunday and waited an hour without receiving our food. When we asked, we were told it would be another HOUR?! Meanwhile, others who arrived after us were served and left. The staff didn't apologize and brushed us off. Overall, it was an incredibly disappointing experience. Waiting two hours for mediocre food is not worth it at all. I strongly advise against going there. read more

Jackpot always tugs when we get anywhere near this place like a mile away & pulls towards it. He loves it & told me I had to go w 5 stars & not 4. The patio is fantastic & very dog friendly. Denver is generally a dog friendly city, but plenty of exceptions are out there so definitely check ahead & don't just assume outdoor patio is good. The kitchen is tiny w just a couple of panini presses so temper your expectations, but the food is decent. The breakfast burrito is one of my goto meals. We've been here several times & the service is always friendly & seems genuine. Great place to have an Irish coffee or two. read more

Cork cafe used to be a great spot for sandwiches (specially paninis), breakfast items, chai tea lattes etc. However, as of today (Dec 2022) their menu has been very paired down. Today I went and ordered a panini and I was given a BAGEL (likely store bought) with mozzarella cheese and chopped tomatoes on top. Either the dude working was confused or they've stopped serving paninis and just serve leftover bagels open faced with toppings. I won't be going back to Cork Cafe! read more

Ok so i read a number of reviews and was skeptical coming in but the good outweighed the bad and we were curious. We arrived just after 8 on a Saturday morning. Just one other guest sitting inside. I ordered the chai latte based on all the good reviews and it did not disappoint. Top 2 best chai lattes I've ever had. Ever. Rich and creamy. Food was fast and hot. I had the special ham and cheese croissant; husband had the burrito. We were both happy with our selections. Also have a great basket of hot sauces and we're a sucker for a new hot sauce. Agree only one staffer and can see how a bottleneck could form when busy as she was doing it all by didn't have the customer service issues so many others complained about. My friend and I have been here a couple of times, but I made this account just to share how blown away I am by how the woman with short hair (she must have been the manager?) treated her cook. I didn't notice how hard that lady cooking was working until, who must have been the manager, stepped in, because I heard her raise her voice at the cook and saw the cook start to cry?! Then the manager not only kicked the cook out, but threw the food she was making in the garbage! I could have sworn I heard her say something profane too, and I was heartbroken for this woman who was just doing her job to her best ability. I cannot believe they operate their business this way, as this was all very easy for me to witness behind the counter while waiting in line. As somebody who works in HR, I felt obligated to say something. It has been bothering me since this afternoon. I was appalled at how this manager treated her employee. Although the food and drinks were good, this experience has made me want to avoid this place at all costs. read more
