Below level Handyman... Tobby over promises and under delivers. He's not a planner which is a huge issue if you want decent work. He did a few jobs for us. In the beginning he was nice and showed up in time for the first day then he started coming in later and finishing the jobs well into the night. Our final job was barn doors for our bathroom space. He told us they are not painted when delivered to them, but he would paint them and they would look professional. On the day they were going to install them he tells us the painting is not included and we owe him another $350. I was outraged since he didn't tell us this and acted like he had. He gives you a very sparse SOW and adds charges as he goes along. He didn't install them as we discussed and left a 2 and 1/2 inch gap which prevents privacy. I told him then I wasn't happy with the work and he told me he would come back and fix it free of charge( the gap) since he can't fix the orientation or width, etc. when we contacted him a week later he said he would charge us $400 for materials (a few painted boards) and $450 for the job. In the end he says "I don't do doors"???? My response was "if you don't do doors then don't take the job!!!!". Do yourself a favor find someone else who's reliable and accountable. read more

At the end of the day Tobby did good work. I sent him pictures of some areas of my house where drywall was ripped out due to a leak. He was very responsive and easy to work with. All of the actually drywall repair was done satisfactory; however, the bathroom wall that needed some texturing and minor touch up and painting was poorly done. The texturing was way to thick and the color of paint was not the match of the adjacent walls in the bathroom. Another thing that bothered me was the nonchalant attitude regarding the dumping of the drywall residue in my back yard without my approval. I think there were some miscues between Tobby and I regarding what my wife and I needed done and what he and his brother thought needed to be done. I would've given 4 stars if not for a few of the discrepancies I mentioned above. read more

Gave them a call regarding a roof leak caused by direct tv. Company owner responded right away to schedule a inspection. I then scheduled for the job to be done. The team came and performed and took care or the job and then some. A rainstorm came the next day and the job was done to the T. Leak was fixed and the seal looks commercial grade it seems like. My mom has can lights in a 10 foot ceiling, and one appeared to have an issue when I tried to change the bulb. I didn't feel comfortable working at that height so I contacted Matt, who offered to go out and assess the problem. I appreciated how prompt he was, and how professional in his communication with me. As it turned out, the bulb was bad so he went and bought new bulbs at Ace Hardware and installed them at a very reasonable rate. Requested a quote from Higher Level Handyman Services. Made an appointment with Toby and he indicated a window between 10am-12pm to come to my house and assess the job to quote. I wrote Toby the day of the appointment around 930am to see about what time he may arrive. A little before 11am Toby called and asked to reschedule to the next day in a window between 4pm and 6pm. He said he would call when he was 30 minutes from arriving. Day of that appointment I tried calling him at 6pm for an update on arrival but no answer and voicemail was full. So I messaged again on Yelp for an update. I didn't hear from Toby until after 7pm that he had another job that ran long. He asked again to move the appointment to the next day with the same time frame. I responded back that I understand that things happen but I did ask to be notified ahead of time if he wasn't going to show to an appointment. I let him know I could arrange to be home at 530 pm. Short version review... HIRE THESE GUYS! Outstanding work. Longer version... Every step of the way, they embody professionalism. Immediate call back when we left a message. Set an appointment for site check and quote. They showed up on time, and gave us a fair price for the job. They texted us three times that day to confirm their arrival time. On the day of the work, they continued to update us on their arrival time. They have great communication skills. When they left, we had an exact idea of how they were going to do the job. On the day of the work, we were scheduled in the afternoon, so we expected the possibility of being late, as they have no control over the length of the job they are at before us. That is totally understandable, and acceptable. They made sure they did not leave their current job until it was done. When they knew they would be later than expected, they were in constant contact with their expected arrival time. They showed up later in the afternoon. Toby told us how long the job would take, and that it would go into the evening, so he brought lights. Most people would just cancel and reschedule. These guys came at 3pm on a Friday and worked until 8pm. The job they did was perfect. Their attention to detail is exceptional. They take real pride in their work. They are clean cut, personable, and have a sincere concern for their clients. I cannot give them a high enough recommendation. read more
