In the 3 months I have spent on the mountain at the new house only 3 places have become MUST visit places...this is at the top of the list. The coffee at Higher Grounds is among the best cups of coffee I have ever had. Their coffee beans are of just incredible quality and their service is always top notch. Their regular latte alone will make you a believer. You don't need any sweeteners or any gimmicks to make this cup of coffee amazing. It will be the smoothest, most balanced, tastiest cup you've had in a while...guaranteed. If siren brand corporate coffee is your standard, prepare to have a new standard made. First time here we each got a drink and we took a couple of pastries. Kids had a chai and a hot chocolate. Both were very tasty. Wife had a latte that made her eyes close and had her making "mmmmmm" sounds at first taste. I had just a regular cup of drip that tasted like it was made in an aero press, superb and rich flavor, no bitter undertones. The turnovers we had were excellent as well. Every time since that, I've had the latte with oat milk and it is just insanely delicious I recommend it whether you need non-dairy milk or not, it is just so good this way. read more

After walking around Lake Gregory looked for a small business. Stopped at this little coffee house to get a coffee and some pastry all of it look delicious. Had a blueberry muffin and cinnamon roll. Plenty of outdoor shaded seating. Indoor seating limited. read more

The two girls running the front counter were very nice and got our drinks quickly. The older man working in back who made our sandwiches though decided to make it his mission to spend the entire 30 minutes we were in there discussing his disgust for queer folk and their "lifestyles". As a gay man trying to enjoy my lunch with his boyfriend it fueled me with gay rage. I want to support local businesses but I probably won't be back even though the sandwich and drinks were good. Can't support a business that can't be bothered to at least teach their employees to keep their bigoted opinions to themselves. Kudos to the cashier for sticking up for her trans sibling though! Maybe one day you'll be able to knock some sense into that old fool. read more

Sometimes we drive around to find new places. And driving with your teenager is a great way to get them to talk. Found this cute place in what looks like and old gas station. Coffee was very tasty. Pastries were good. Vibe was clean and nice. Free religious materials available. read more

In addition to the coffee they have great home baked goods including vegan brownies, maple walnut scones, some awesome ham and cheese puff pastry, cinnamon rolls on the weekends, and more. Also, their sandwiches are simple but huge and off-the-charts good, made with Boar's Head meats and cheeses and some incredible breads. I forgot to take a picture before I took a bite, but here's a picture of my sandwich. read more

Higher Grounds blew us away. Immediately, the service was incredible with a warm welcome from the staff. The environment is so friendly and fun with games to play while you wait for your drink all the way until you finish. The coffee is so delicious with amazing flavors to choose from. The croissant was so good it was different from any other I've tried in the best way! This place is great!! read more

Higher Grounds is a good spot if you're looking for cheap cafe-type breakfast items. A bagel will run you $3 and the breakfast sandwich is $6. Though the breakfast sandwich wasn't the most flavorful I've had, I appreciated the good value. read more

We found Higher Ground as we were departing to head back to LA. I wish we could have found them on day 1! We enjoyed our lattes and the nice customer service we received. Cheers to them. read more

My fiancé and I came to the lake arrowhead area for Easter weekend to get out of the city and relax for a few days. We went to Higher Grounds Coffee two days in a row. Love their lavender vanilla iced latte with oatmilk. The pastries, bagels and sandwiches are equally as good. Patio is nice and open. read more

Higher Grounds Coffee House - Everything bagel with cream cheese and vanilla lavender ice latte with oatmilk - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Crestline, California

It is extremely hard to find a good (and by good I mean 3rd/4th wave good) coffee shop in the San Bernardino mountains. Enter Higher Grounds! Drinks -- their coffee is the best on the mountain. They have all the usual suspects, espresso, coffee, lattes, etc. and some even feature excellent flavors (I believe I heard talk of a lavender latte?) Food -- they've got a nice little selection of baked goods at a killer price (I think we got a cookie for a dollar) Ambiance -- the place is in what looks to be an old vintage gas station and it's cute as could be. Seating indoor and outside as well makes it the perfect place to spend an afternoon. Parking & misc. -- lots of parking and the prices are excellent. It's located right in the cute little downtown-y area of Crestline. If you're a hipster (like me) and you're craving a great cup of joe (and let's face it, who isn't?) go here. We'll 100% be back! read more

Higher Grounds Coffee House - How cute is this interior?? - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Crestline, California

Chill vibe & staff. I got an oat milk latte & hubby enjoyed a hot chai. We both liked that neither of our drinks were overly sweet or watered down, you could actually taste the main ingredients! Will be our regular coffee spot next time we visit the area. read more

Higher Grounds Coffee House - Yes!! loved this sign. - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Crestline, California

Awesome spot, this should be your first choice when looking for coffee in the area. Really great employees, reliable WiFi, tasty pastries, cool outdoor space, and the do a great oat milk latte. These things are often taken for granted in the city but up here on the mountain it's greatly appreciated. The avocado toast is great too! read more

This place is a gem! I stumbled across it while exploring the map on my phone near a VRBO we were staying in. Great chai tea and very friendly staff! I wish I lived around here so I could drop by every week! read more

Higher Grounds Coffee House - Chai tea with a little vanilla syrup added - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Crestline, California

I love stopping by Higher Grounds when visiting the Crestline area. The breakfast sandwiches on bagels are tasty and the coffee is too. Prices are reasonable and the service is good. We have never had an issue getting a parking spot or finding a seat at one of their outdoor patio tables to enjoy our breakfast. Though I haven't indulged yet, everything in the pastry case looks amazing. I'd absolutely recommend Higher Grounds if you need coffee and breakfast and want something with more flavor and love in it than a chain coffee spot will give you. read more

Higher Grounds Coffee House - Enjoying coffee and a breakfast sandwich on the outdoor patio. - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Crestline, California

A super cute local spot with quality coffee. I'd recommend the iced almond milk latte (with an extra shot if you prefer your coffee a bit stronger). Though some of the drinks were on the pricier end, it was worth it- the service was quick, friendly, and overall I had a great experience at Higher Grounds. read more

Delicious coffee and cozy place , will definitely come back when in town . Super recommended

What a cute little coffee shop! I always drive past this shop when on my way home or in my way to work. I haven't had time to stop in till last week. It was during the week at about 10a, so it wasn't busy. I was greeted by a young lady who was eager to help me choose the perfect drink for myself. I ended choosing the vanilla latte and it was absolutely delicious. Not too sweet, not bitter, just right. I also ordered a slice of banana bread and it was very good. Might I add that it seemed like the banana bread was homemade? Yum! The decor inside is very nice. It definitely gives you the coffee shop vibes. I will be back again, but next time with my boys and husband and anyone else I can drag along! read more

Very cute coffee shop. Coffee and pastries were good. The inside is very cute and clean. Restroom is outside. The only reason why I did not give it 5stars was because the restroom was very dirty and unkept. They had a fun ping pong table outside. read more

Their coffee isn't good. They don't have a good variety of flavors and sugar free choices in syrups. The coffee shop in Goodwin's is better by far. Their coffee is up there with the coffee bean and they have more choices including smoothies and pastries. However, Paradise Mountain is also good but not as good as Goodwin's...but l like the owner of Paradise Mountain. read more

Their blueberry tea, oh! SO good!!! Outdoor seating is comfortable with shade or sun choices.

The staff are very sweet and helpful in making decisions on my orders. I love their chai teas and their London fogs. The decor and environment is very inviting and is such a sweet area to either grab a quick drink or even take a seat and relax for a minute. Would definitely recommend to anyone coming to visit or the many locals to the mountain. read more

Loved the atmosphere, service, coffee and tasty goodies. Very enjoyable environment all together.

Love this place! Excellent coffee, I get the iced oat or almond latte and the bacon scone. Great team works here, friendly and fast. We usually sit outside and enjoy the beautiful scenery. I can walk here from our cabin which is convenient. read more

Great little coffee shop, a must for a good cup of coffee and morning sunshine when in the Lake Arrowhead area. Although small, it's really the best coffee we have had here so far. The patio was perfect, just the right amount of space between tables and clean. Friendly and funny baristas/cashiers, a small wall of beautiful local art. We will definitely be back! read more

While in town, I was super excited to try this place considering the great reviews. I got an iced hazelnut americano with oat milk and a muffin/cake. The drink was so sour and the muffin was very dry. I honestly didn't feel comfortable asking for the drink to be re-made because the employees weren't friendly and I felt uncomfortable going back in. I ended up throwing it away because I couldn't drink it :/ also, I'm not sure if they make their baked goods or purchase them, but I found a hair or thread baked into my muffin.... again, no idea if they bake them or purchase them but... I was disappointed :( read more

I would love to say it was a great coffeehouse (since we only really have 2 in town), but unfortunately I can't. I've only gone there twice (the second time just to give them a second chance) months ago, but both times were sub-par. As soon as you walk in, there is not much room inside, and both times I never felt very welcomed. Their drinks and food were super expensive. And both times I ordered some type of sandwich and was let down. The first time I ordered a sandwich that was made to order, I was a) surprised how much they charged, and b) the bread was stale! The second time I was excited to try a breakfast bagel...but unfortunately was let down again. Not only did they have only 2 types of bagels, but they didn't even toast my bagel when they made the sandwich! Who does that?? Anyway, needless to say I was SUPER disappointed as I REALLY wanted to have a coffee shop I loved and went to all the time out here, but I've never been back after those times. read more

I came in because my Airbnb host gave me a gift card, and the smell!!!! It was like a delicious hug when you walked in. Ashley and Skye were both so lovely; they gave me recommendations and chatted for awhile. The food was scrumptious, and the service was impeccable! read more

Higher Grounds serves exceptional coffee with friendly attitudes. The beans are from Arcade, which roasts some of the tastiest craft coffee that can be had. The attention to detail is easy to identify in the cup. Their maple latte is to die for. Even though they're fairly new, they offer a lot of pastry and drink options. I'm partial to the luxurious, fill texture of their cappuccino foam in particular, but I usually get a capp for here and then a large drip to go. 20oz drip, y'all. No one pours such a generous cup of the good stuff for this price. read more

Mmmmm! Lavender Latte with Oat Milk. Super delish! When I planned this trip to Crestline as a little getaway this month, I wasn't sure what to expect for coffee in this little town. Being from LA, we have some of the most incredible options, and admittedly are a little spoiled. So, I decided to look around on Yelp. Liked what I saw and gave it a try...perfect, absolutely wonderful. The flavor was on point, the girls were super friendly, location was right on the main drag (a block down from where we stayed), and they even had Vegan Brownies!!! Sadly, we did not try them, but they looked incredible. Their prices are good and they have an outdoor stage. If you haven't tried them, go and spoil yourself read more

I enjoy this place for the coffee and sandwiches. I really enjoyed the Avocado on toast. The service is the best in town. I will be returning to this place, soon. It's the best, for your every day prayer and needs. read more
