This BYOB is a true gem when you are craving Cajun. There are plenty of appetizers but we quickly settled on the pirogies and blackened chicken --you can't go wrong choosing either but I'd have to give the nod to the blackened pirogies which are exceptional. On the other hand I give a chefs kiss to and would have a hard time choosing between the blackened chicken, scallops, and shrimp over dirty rice and the blackened striped bass over shrimp jambalaya which were both worthy of getting again. Last but not least--service was very good, limited street parking along with a parking lot out back, ambiance is good , and tables are spaced out considering it's a small restaurant. read more

The ambiance ,manager and staff were top notch. However, the food was NOT the Cajun style I'm used to. It was NOT spicy enough and the chicken and shrimp jambalaya was bland and the shrimp was overcooked (tuff) .The Cajun fries were really good and the blackened chicken strips (appetizer) were really good too. read more

My wife and I went for dinner in October. Enjoyed the Cajun pierogi that were good cheese and potato pierogi but did not seem very different from regular pierogi. The seasoning was nice and somewhat spicy and the concept interesting. The lobster bisque was very, very tasty with the undertone of good sherry in it. We went here for the first time tonight and all of the food was exceptional! We were able to call an hour in advance and reserve our table for 6:30pm, which was great! When we got there the restaurant was not very busy, but got more crowded the later in the night it got. This is a BYOB restaurant so they only offer sodas and seltzer water. The waitresses and hostess were very nice and the food came out very quickly! We started with the popcorn crawfish which was amazing! For entrees, we had the jerk chicken tacos and blackened chicken with scallops and shrimp. Both dishes were bursting with flavor and really great! The atmosphere at High Street is definitely New Orleans! Get the cajun perogies- with grilled onions and nice touch of cajun seasoning. Their salmon with the mango sausa can't be beat! The flavor of the salmon is beyond great! I coulf have ordered 2 of them. My wife had the Chicken Syracusa - chicken, spinach, grilled proscuitto, artichokes, Sun dried tomato, Pesto &farfelle Pasta- what a dish-That's a home run in my book. My brother-in law had a double order of the crawfish-wow! Service as usual was great! The atmosphere is very casual and friendly. If I could give this review 10 stars I would. Not only because of the food but the staff. My mother is in a wheelchair and they were so accommodating. Held the door open for her and were so kind and patient. They made sure we had a table to by the door and it was a perfect evening! The food. Everything, EVERYTHING was outstanding. The soup is the best crab bisque I've ever had and the blacked chicken and shrimp with dirty rice was so flavorful! Everyone enjoyed their meals so much and the atmosphere is incredible. Food critic from a true cajun. My mom, grandma and I tried this cajun place and was very disappointed. Their food is nola style, so tomato based. Not much flavor in the dishes. Not true to cajun food. Very small portions for a really large price. The service was great and the ambiance is Mardi Gras themed. The bread pudding and pecan pie were good! Well talk about a homerun and off the Peet and Path in Westchester hence the reason why I will tell my wife we need to drive around investigate and that's when you find those little Jewels. We had made a reservation but were running a little bit late, called to push out, and I got to tell you that everyone was just so pleasant. A really good vibe and very friendly. Being that we weren't from the area and I had not looked at the website didn't notice that they will BYOB which is perfectly fine we usually thought that but this case we were empty-handed and I got a Telya our server when we started talking and found out that we have not at the same time but have lived a block from each other with my wife and I currently reside so I'm breaking that ice they were courteous enough to ensure that we were happy if you well you can fill in the blanks. My gosh there's so much on the menu I wanted to try but of course I can't have everything so we'll have to come back from more another time but on this particular trip we started off with the shrimp Webber which is shrimp sautéed with andouille, onion, and scallions in a sweet habanero sauce over rice, is dish just knocked it out of the ballpark such a great flavor profile. Next we ordered a beet salad which was gourmet greens tomatoes candied walnuts and goat cheese, and mango vinaigrette and it was so incredibly fresh and crisp and what a wonderful flavor profile setting us up for our next dish. Have to go in back-and-forth with a server over the various dishes we wound up ordering the blackened red snapper over shrimp jambalaya and what a really nice surprise that was. Again there are so many great New Orleans dishes on the menu that we certainly need to come back and this time will bring proper beverages with us and bring friends it is very friendly place in engaging place and again off the beaten path and Westchester. Server opened and it and poured and talked about our favorites. I got a a fettuccini pasta with a plethora of crawfish calamari scallops and other stuff. Wifey got a blackened catfish over jambalaya which was cooked to perfection. Our partners got similar and loved their dishes. Got to say hi to Donny the owner and had a great time. It's cajun but not overly spicy. It has sausage, peppers and cajun stuff mixed in. Don is a great host. The waitress was awesome. She knew the menu and was very patient and helpful. I had such high hopes for this place after having heard that they had gator bites and bananas foster! I mean aside from the draw for N'Orleans étoufeé the other two were my excitement for trying out this plane that was well over an hour from my home. I should've known as soon as I saw that plate of tiny pea sized morsels of what they called alligator that this place was going to disappoint. Honestly can't even remember if the main meals were good. Let's just say not memorable. My biggest BIGGEST disappointment was when I got my bananas foster. The entire thing was COLD! like they had these bowls pre-set up in the dish and didn't bother to flambé the bananas which is the entire dish! The ice cream was also lack luster ... I was ready to cry bc I saved room for this!!! So missing my old Paoli and Philly favorites that closed. The Big Easy and Nola had great food. Mind you the TBE had awesome bananas foster! Étoufeé hands down was great at Nola's and the gator bites if you ever make it to N'Orleans Oceana Grill! Get the blackened gator bites for sure! read more

I want to start off my review mentioning that I have been going to Vudu for years and have loved and recommended it for a really long time. The food is AMAZING and continues to taste just as good after all these years. My favorites are: blackened chicken, Cajun pierogis, jambalaya, gumbo, and the alligator. They are all delicious. Since I love this restaurant so much, I traditionally come here for my birthday. This year, I had a different experience than ever before. We arrived, admittedly, about 15 mins late for our reservation for a party of 3. The restaurant was empty but did seem to be prepared for two larger tables. The servers awkwardly scrambled to figure out how to rearrange a table and let us know we'd be sitting at a different one nearby but didn't quite seat us. The waitress let us know that she gave our table to another family due to our arrival time, which was why they needed to rearrange and rework the restaurant. The entryway is not meant for waiting, as there is no space to stand and other people came in. This was not only awkward but also not good for my step dad who recently had shoulder surgery and is in a sling. Finally, we were seated. After some time, the waiter came over and asked if we "want to put on appetizers real quick" without taking our drink order, which my party independently requested. Then, when our appetizers came out, the multiple waiters tried to take the plate before we were done and even asked if we could take the last two bites before he took the plate. I thought this rude, as we were obviously not done yet. The Cajun pierogis and the alligator were great. We tried the Vudu shrimp which was much spicier than expected. When the food came out, my blackened chicken was delicious as usual and I ate the entire meal. My step dads dish was cold unfortunately. I believe he got the bourbon chicken. Once we ate, the waiters gave us a dessert menu and did not come back for an extensive amount of time. The bartender was apparently sent over to check on us due to short staff. Finally, we got the bill and left. I am bummed that my birthday experience here felt so subpar considering my loyalty to the restaurant. It just seemed like the restaurant was understaffed/underprepared for a Friday night in West Chester. I'm not sure I will plan to dine in in the future. read more
