I'm cancelling my subscription to the Criterion Channel since these erstwhile champions of film…read morepreservation have decided to get into the censorship business. In their new mission to purge anything that offends, scenes and language from the Gene Hackman classic, The French Connection have been exised because they do not conform with contemporary mores and sensibilities. Enough. Since when does a film released in a 1971 cultural context have to justify itself to the archangels of presentism. Write a review and tell the world that the film's anachronistic view of police methods is offensive and outmoded. I may even agree with you but don't force me to watch a compromised version because you can't handle it. Isn't it enough that it just exists for viewers of any era or generation to take from it what they will. Criterion was always a fierce defender of cinematic integrity whether it delighted or offended. No more... which includes my subscription.

I've been ordering Blu-rays from Cinema Classics for the better part of of maybe 3 or 4 years now…read moreand have never had anything but a good experience. In many orders, I think one may have been in error, like a single title was missing or it was a 4k instead of a bluray--something like that--and it was corrected immediately. As a high-volume Blu-ray collector, I've always got to be economic about things so I tend to go there for the sales they'll host and for the few titles I absolutely need brand new titles at full retail with a slipcase because they've always got it specified on there when that is available and their year-round policy to offer a free title when ordering 6 always softens that blow. Everything is legit, shipping is prompt and careful, and the selection provides a lot of options if I'm trying to buy a few titles but don't always have enough in the cart for that 7-for-6 scenario with one or two particular labels. They have also always offered a pay-in-4 option with PayPal so I have known nothing but accomodation with this company. Buy with confidence.

I discovered Cinema Classics online and I was thoroughly impressed with their inventory. There are…read moreso many movies I want to get, (and keep in mind, I have an impressive physical media collection). I usually do big orders, but thankfully I made a small purchase (about $100). After adding the movies to my cart and paying, I did NOT receive a confirmation email. I tried contacting them through their website section that says ''Contact." There seems to be a broken/glitched function because the email does not go through. I checked my bank card and I was still charged... I had to Google if this was a legitimate site lol. If it's this challenging to get in contact with them, that's concerning. I've ordered from well over 20 movie sites and Cinema Classics has been the only one that has had this issue. No email confirmation/order number or any way to be contacted from their site. Listing their email and phone number would seem to be the wise thing to do. Update: Received the movies I ordered in perfect condition. Although there was no initial confirmation email, i did get an email about tracking 4 or 5 days later. I will be ordering from them again bc they have so many movies I want to own. Just advise to not make massive orders without having ordered from them previously.

This shop recently opened and still have their grand opening. The lady at the register was nice enough to chitchat and explained some of her wares. It was cool that she offers many Japanese trading cards (original) but we were looking for the English edition cards (they had none). There was a section not for sale but for looks with signs stating to speak to the owners regarding sales of that side. Odd. There were many cute plushies, stickers, figurines, wall posters and other merchandises. Took my time looking at each part of the shop. The wall posters were all the way in the back. The shop is a long narrow space with lots of lighting. Very cool spots for my fellow anime lovers.

I personally thought they were overpriced for what you got. $9 for a one dimensional keychain. They sell the tokens, but not individually. In two, four, six quantities, but most of the machines require three tokens. And the tokens are valued at $3 apiece. In the end, my daughter was happy and it's not often she gets to do this so it was worth seeing her having fun and being excited. I will say they had lots of really neat " toys " I had not seen elsewhere. Also, in the far back, they have two sets of the big drum game and four driving games. It was a nice surprise to find. Overall, I am glad I got to come and check the place out.
