This place has been in my bucket list since I moved to Middle Tennessee and it did not disappoint! I love how there's a rich history (building supposedly financed by Al Capone), and the outside and inside ambiance are beautiful and elegant! We had to wait a bit for our reservation, but the hostess was very accommodating and gave us some water while we waited. Plus, we weren't in a rush! Come to this restaurant hungry, because they give you a lot of food, but we weren't complaining! We started with the Caesar salad and the lobster bisque. The lobster bisque was incredible, creamy, and rich. I ordered the filet mignon with Parmesan truffle fries and my boyfriend got a special that night which was the chicken madeira. My steak was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. The mushroom wine sauce that came with it was delicious! The chicken madeira was also delicious, with a cream wine sauce to top it off. We then shared the molten chocolate lava cake which was to die for! It came with some delicious vanilla ice cream which in my opinion is a must with molten chocolate cake! Our waitress was super busy, but did a great job waiting all of the tables. She was so sweet and was a really hard worker. If you're in the Monteagle area, I highly recommend stopping here!

Local food lover here! We've had the pleasure of enjoying many delicious dinners at High Point. My favorite things are the duck appetizer, NY Strip or Ribeye and the cheese grits. The history, ambiance, friendly servers, and amazing food make for a fantastic meal or date night spot.

We've eaten at High Point several times. Had dinner there Friday evening. We continue to love this restaurant. We started with the New Orleans shrimp appetizer. Delicious. For entrées, my wife had the grilled salmon, and I had the New York strip and lobster tail. Entrées come with salad and potato. The Caesar salads were excellent. The basket of bread is a nice touch. For entrées, my wife had the grilled salmon, and I had the New York strip and lobster tail, with loaded baked potatoes. I can't think of a thing I would change. Everything was just right. Our server, Darla, was one of the best I've ever seen. She made the evening an even better experience. We love the history and ambience of the restaurant. I like to tease them about wanting to tour Al Capone's tunnels underneath the restaurant. Look forward to returning soon!

We have eaten here on two special occasions we were celebrating. The building is beautiful and so are the grounds. Now, the food is phenomenal! We've eaten at many high end restaurants across the U.S., and High Point beats them all! The flavors, presentation and quality is unmatched. You won't be disappointed. We are life long patrons because we simply cannot get enough of their amazing menu. Staff and chefs are top notch!

I was surprised to get in on short notice but it was a Thu night 7 pm. I had the Oysters , steak dinner. Everything was delicious and in generous portions. Mid range price and exceptional service! Highly recommend and the atmosphere was amazing!

Amazing. Service was attentive, accommodating, and went out of their way to offer recommendations and even made our cocktails extra special (aka strong AF). Located in this out of the way gorgeous stone "mansion" built in the 30's by Al Capone for his girlfriend! Such cool history to go with delicious food! Everything was spectacular! I had grilled salmon with a spicy orange glaze, blackberry salad and we shared fried green tomatoes. Hubby had rib eye and said it was excellent! We'd definitely return!

An older lady was our waitress and she was great. We had duck and the chef knew exactly how to cook it. It was delicious.

The restaurant is located behind the namesake lodge and has ample parking. They had a nice fireplace going on outside due to chilly weather. Inside was a super cozy southern vibe kind of a place. There were a lot of music memorabilia on the walls. The live music was really good. Randy Finchum kicked off the music and played original and sometimes hilarious songs. He made sure to crack a lot of jokes and stories between the songs. For food we tried fried pickles, fried okra, fried brussels sprouts, and sausage with onions and peppers. Yep...no sight of greens but man was everything delicious. Also, they have cheap beers available but only in bottles. If you're in the mood for some good southern food with a cozy funky vibe then checkout Smoke House.

The breading ratio was awesome, thin enough to not overwhelm and make it too thick and dense. Came out steaming hot so clearly made fresh. Decor inside was adorable. Had a stage for live music in the evenings. Really kind staff. I'd made it a point to stop again if I ever find myself in that neighborhood again.
