We hired them to install a hot water heater and washer and dryer in our cottage. Doug Brown came to the site and met with me and looked at the project. He quoted $2400 for the work. The only change to the original scope of the project was to hook up our refrigerator ice maker. We received a bill for almost $4000 with no warning that the costs were more than anticipated. In addition, we received the bill before the job was done, and then were threatened with a lien being put on our home when the bill wasn't paid in 14 days (when the job still wasn't done), even though the bill said due in 15 days. Both Doug Brown and his wife yelled and threatened us when we contacted them through their office voicemail when trying to ascertain the status of our project (our full time home is out of state). They were on a three week vacation while the work was being completed by one of their employees, but they had provided us with no other contact information, and did not inform us of their return date. I cannot state enough how horrible this experience was and how unprofessional both Doug and Leslie Brown are.
