What can I say about this company? There aren't enough words in the English language to fully explain what an incredible experience I had with them. On a hot, steamy recent Sunday night, both toilets in my house backed up. I called Seacoast Sewer and Drain in Kittery, and they got back to me within five minutes. Jen, the office manager, told me she was going to dispatch Bob McDermott to my house and that he would arrive within the hour, which he did. Bob immediately saw that the problem was with my septic system being full, and not able to hold any more sewage. So he called a sewage pumping company down from Eliot, Maine, who arrived in an hour and pumped out 3,000 gallons of sewage and effluent from my four holding tanks. Bob could see, even though he was now working with a flashlight at this point and fighting off mosquitos, that the problem was with my leach field not getting the effluent from the last holding tank, which also housed the aerator. Since he could do nothing further, he promised to come back the next day, which he did. He traced several problems, all related, to a degraded junction box which was improperly installed by the septic contractor who put in the system in 2012. Bob had to dig a fifth hole to get to the junction box which was flooded and the terminals were corroded. So, with the company owner, Jack, who had now arrived from another job, they cleaned up the terminals on the junction box and sealed the whole unit with plumber's putty, to ensure that the pump and alarm would work properly. What a relief!! I would heartily recommend Seacoast Sewer and Drain to anyone with a septic problem. Notwithstanding the fact that Bob came out on a Sunday evening and had to dig four holes to access the septic covers, he and the owner, Jack, wouldn't give up until they had fully diagnosed what the issue was with my septic system. These guys are THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! read more

I had my sink unplugged and my leaky toilet replaced. This is a great company. I have been a customer for years.

They are quick, efficient, professional and reliable. They completed they work nicely from start to finish. Thank you.

Clogged drains happen at most inopportune times. Seacoast showed up within an hour and solved our problem quickly, and didn't complain that we hadn't cleared lots of stuff from under the sink. They are a five star outfit. read more

When we first bought our house in Kittery a couple of years back, it came with a DIY sump pump system that immediately caused us problems. We called them to come out - they arrived quickly, fixed the problem, outlined our issues with the system and let us know we had to get it fixed. It was a small job, but we were treated with professionalism and compassion, having never lived with a sump pump before. Now this past week, we had a totally unrelated issue with a water heater. Google said they did water heaters, their website didn't list it, but my partner called anyway. They immediately put us in touch with someone who does do water heaters, and they came over the next day and fixed the problem. It just felt like the best kind of customer service, "we can't help but we know who can". We would recommend Seacoast Sewer & Drain to anyone. Now, I'm not looking to have a problem again anytime soon - but they will be my first phone call. Thank you for your help before, and again this past week. read more

Two men from Seacoast Sewer and Drain came to my house today to do a camera inspection of my pipes. They were polite, knowledgeable, answered all my questions and concerns. I highly recommend them. read more

See all

I discovered a sewer backup on a Sunday night and decided to wait until Monday morning to start calling around to find someone to help. After a few unanswered voice mails to other companies, SS&D answered the phone right away. The woman who answered was very helpful and arranged for one of the plumbers who was currently on a job to contact me ASAP. Not long after he called and said he would be right over. He quickly fixed the clog problem plus a few other issues that I knew about. (deferred maintenance) When you have an old house/system, you always cross your fingers and they helped get things up and running again after a short time and at a reasonable price. Thanks Seacoast Sewer & Drain! read more

The woman taking the calls is the absolute rudest and arrogant person that I have ever spoken with over the phone. Tried to schedule a drain cleanout. Tried to explain the job was a little unusual...may need special parts....she said..."listen honey, we do this for a living we know what we are doing better than you do". She said, then said, do you want an appointment or not...I said OK...she gave me a date, I asked her what time....and she said....you are too hard to deal with maybe you should call someone else and hung up.......never seen such a bad attitude. Makes me wonder what sort of chaotic business they are running. read more

Used this Company for the first and last time. We had two plugged toilets and one guy showed up who fixed the problem in less than one hour. The bill was $395.00. Outrageous to say the least!! I asked him if there was any warranty on the work and he told me no. So if it happens again in the near future we are screwed. NEVER AGAIN for this outfit!!! BTW: This job was done during normal working hours. Approximately 9 AM to 10 AM and it took two days for them to show up here. read more

I was very disappointed with the service I received from Seacoast Sewer and Drain. I paid Seacoast Sewer and Drain $120 for a service call to visit my home (10 miles away from their Kittery office). The service call was to review a sewer leakage problem I was having and to provide an estimate for the repairs. On June 6, 2022, they completed a service call, took pictures and I was told that I would receive an estimate for the required repairs. On June 28, 2022, I called to ask about the status of my estimate. On July 5th, I called again asking for the estimate. I was told that I would not be getting an estimate for the repairs because they were very busy and cannot take on additional work. I asked for my money back and was told they will not provide a refund since they did complete the service call. Bottom line, I paid $120 for a 'service call and an estimate' but only received a 15 minute service call. I spent $120 and have nothing to show for it. No estimate and no refund. Documented my frustration and dissatisfaction in a letter to the company dated July 8, 2022. No response. No apology. No refund. Definitely feel ripped-off. read more

These guys came to my house and tore out bathroom ceiling to find issue ( which I told them was o.k. to do). I was told the leak was in a tough area to access and they normally would not take the job. They quoted me a cost of $1700.00. I had another master plumber come and take a look. He did the job in 2 hours for a total of $385.00 a $1300.00 difference. The guy who showed up seemed nice, but just tell me you don't want to do the job, don't charge me 4x the amount it really costs. read more

These guys saved my weekend. Upon finding a leak in my basement, which quickly turned into a bigger problem, I realized I had a sewage back up. No one else even called me back. Within an hour they sent Bob who had the problem diagnosed and fixed in a matter of hours. In the future I won't use anyone else. read more

We had a sewer break and Seacoast was there. Jack and Jen(his Wife) were so attentive and understanding and btw the only place to return our call! Others so rude. This guy is a nice calm understanding guy. Old school. Honors his pricing and is very fair. Gotta tell you folks I will recommend him always. Thanks Jack read more

Surprisingly very disappointed in the service. I made an appointment online through their site 6 days ago with a "pending" notice on the reservation. During the week I called and messaged them several times including during business hours and only received a voice recording. I left voicemails, sent emails, and messages through their online schedule service, but have never received a response or confirmation of the appointment. Cancelled my appointment because as of 5p the day before a service call the next morning at 8a, still no response from them. read more

Fantastic service! Had a septic emergency late at night. Jack arrived promptly and competently & efficiently solved the problem, leaving the basement clean and back to normal. At 2AM! I will never call another plumber. Jen, his wife, handles the phone with friendly courtesy. read more

When our kitchen sink needed service, I looked on Yelp for a good plumber and found Seacoast. So glad I did! They returned my phone call quickly, even though it was the weekend. Since it wasn't an emergency, we scheduled for the next day. The work was done at a fair price, and Jack was professional and courteous. Highest recommendation!! read more

I can remember - efficient, friendly, effective, and very professional. They always respond quickly and arrive right when they say. They explain the issue and then get to work fixing it. They clean up extremely well, making any backup less of a headache for the homeowner. 100% recommend them! read more
