Timber Falls Tree Care - The right equipment and crew!

    Timber Falls Tree Care

Wow! Talk about service, quality, and value. Timber Falls is my choice for the best tree service…read morearound. Derek, Jason, the ground crew, and Cassandra are amazing. They are so careful, and their knowledge of tree care, combined with work ethic, and the crane and other tools they use, make Timber Falls the best company for tree work. Don't call anyone else.

I apparently had a much different experience than many. If I could give a negative # of stars I…read moreabsolutely would. I hired this company per a recommendation and expected so much more. I paid $13,000 - for 8 trees and Derek had to be the most unfriendly, disrespectful and rude businessman I have ever met! The purpose of the tree removal was 2-fold. It was for safety around the home and also to provide LOTS of firewood! He knew this. He never introduced himself - I had to ask who was Derek when I went out to greet all the guys that showed up. Even once he raised his hand he still did not come over to me. I had to go to him and extend my hand to introduce myself. We had not met as this is my daughter & son-in-law's home. I came up from Virginia for this as I was the payor of the services, which he also knew. Derek started cutting the trees as we (my son in law & I were home) expected, including limbs of good size. Then things changed and we saw a number of pieces going into the chipper (easy for them as all they had to do with that was shoot them into the woods). I went out a total of 4 times to ask him to NOT chip those bigger limbs as they were such great pieces of firewood and even asked if they could just cut to pile or leave in on the ground by the tree. His answer repeatedly?: "IF IT FITS IN THE CHIPPER IT GOES IN THE CHIPPER!" Let me reiterate I was paying him $13,000!! I cannot begin to tell you how infuriating he was and what a great disappointment due the amount of firewood we lost due to his lack of giving a damn what the customer wanted. I am going to contact the BBB to file a complaint & to see if we can at least get $$ back due to the cords of wood he chipped. Suzanne French - Candia NH

I have used this company several times with varying degrees of success with their soils, but this…read moreyear was especially puzzling. I received two separate deliveries of loam, and quickly noticed that wherever I had spread the first delivery, weeds were popping up everywhere. Nonstop. I have attempted to speak with someone, to see if their material had come from a different source, but after three unsuccessful tries, I give up. It is odd this has never occurred in my garden before; I hate to accuse without a conversation with someone, but I have not had that opportunity. So, buyer beware.

I occasionally have small projects for which I need just half a yard or less of material. Sherwood…read moreLandscape Company has been the solution! I live in Boston, but have a rental in Dover, and after searching in vain in Massachusetts for a landscaping company that will let me shovel gravel or dirt into my car to take away myself, I have come to the realization that it is worth it for me to drive to NH just for this stuff! Great example... I just got about a tenth of a yard of drainage stone, and 0.4 yards of superloam for an above ground garden. If I were to go to a box store or nursery, and get this in bags, it would cost more than $50. All the landscape companies I contacted in MA either required at least a purchase of 4 yards for delivery, or would only sell as little as half a yard, ONLY if you have a truck into which they can dump it. And even if they did let me buy it, the prices would have come to $40. I got the job done through Sherwood for $10, and with some of the friendliest folks I have had the pleasure of working with. I have gone to them several times, and am always impressed and happy that I got to work with them. My only complaint is that they don't have more varieties of rocks/pebbles. But all in all...this is a winner.

OVERPRICED AND POOR QUALITY ! STAY AWAY. Steve LeMay gave us a quote last fall of $5,000 for fill…read moreand $3,000 to loam and seed our side and back lawn. This spring his crew came to do the work. The fill was delivered but was not put where I had wanted it. Steve told me he could NOT move the fill and that I would have to pay more for additional fill. He delivered and spread more fill and I paid him a total of $6,750, which is $1750 more than what he quoted, telling me he had given me a discount. He left my paved driveway covered in sand, ruts all the way across my front lawn from his skid steer loader, and ruts over the back lawn. I was then informed that the 4 inches of loam he quoted at $3,000 was now going to cost $12,000. Needless to say, I was outraged. I decided to hire someone else to loam the yard. I was quoted $2,800 elsewhere for 6 inches of loam with grass seed. Unfortunately, the other company could not do the job for 8 weeks and no other company could come out sooner. I was told the fill I bought from Steve LeMay was double what I should have paid. Since then more than half of the poor quality fill (very fine grain powder-like sand instead of thicker sand that stays in place) that was delivered has washed away and the front, side and back lawn look terrible. I now have a $6,500 loan with interest to pay back which isn't easy since I am on Disability. I am devastated. Do NOT hire these people ! The first photo is of my front lawn before We Dig It ruined it. The rest is what Steve refers to as his quality workmanship. DO NOT HIRE THIS BUSINESS !
