A local restaurant with good food at a fair price. Great place to hang out and listen to music.

Of course we cleaned up and walked over and were even more thrilled when we arrived to a completely empty dining room with the exception of our wonderful waiter and attentive host. It felt like the perfect, cozy intimate space to the end of an otherwise rainy, somewhat crazy but fun day. We shared a bottle of red on recommendation and had cocktails. The waiter was warm and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The ambiance is cozy and has an elevated feel. Service was exceptional and it was the perfect, memorable evening. Ended dinner with what I recall was a complimentary chocolate truffle. 10/10!

Service…read morewas indeed spotty on the Saturday night we came here and prices- well....they veer into sharp-intake-of-breath territory, but the cocktail and wine list are good in value. We'd just wrapped up seeing a property in the area- so coming here for dinner, fell just in line with timing before heading down home. Butterfield is Hasbrouck House's on-site farm-to-table restaurant located a bit north from New Paltz. While we didn't stay at the hotel, folks can certainly dine here. Don't even think that you'll be seated in an ultra-cheap bar area because their bar is put together elegantly with brushed, brassy-gold touches, navy, grey+cream patterned wallpaper and a comfortable tufted leather(?) sofa against the windows. Those are pretty much the overall touches with lots of tone and a lot of warmth. Music was a great mix of 60s-70s R&B. Yeah.... here. Hubs and I were digging it. Naturally, Butterfield's menu will change regularly according with what's in season and available. Between our 'Small Plates' of mixed Beet salad+ yogurt ($18) and hubs' crispy wonton Tuna Crudo+ yuzu tacos ($22)- they were very tasty and pricy for the small size. Mr. Mixologist packed our cocktails extremely well with an incredible TKO. Our main plates were very good- but again, small for the dollar amount. No one needs to gorge on food- but I wished my palm-size $44 Halibut was a bit bigger. To their defense, it had a tasty rub and done PERFECTLY moist though. Hubs' $54 "dry aged strip loin" was a total of 3 pieces. And my take-out Truffle Risotto had uncooked rice. Again, it's small and expensive at $38 for a main plate Hubs and I eat well and usually, money is no object- if it's within reason. I totally get that fine dining typically means splurging a little for high-quality items or that Butterfield is using 'complex cooking techniques' or that you'll get an original dining experience in these neck of the woods for those who want uniqueness. But there are a ton of restaurants that use the same skill set, quality organic ingredients, root veggies, etc- and they're way more reasonably priced than this location.

It's conveniently located on Wall Street in uptown Kingston and has delicious sandwiches for a light lunch. We got the Sweetie Pie wrap and the roasted Eggplant sandwich and both were delicious. The goat cheese is really good on the wrap and the eggplant was so flavorful and went great with the pesto. Service was quick and the people working were very nice. They also have lots of vegan options too. Will definitely be back!

Usually the gentrification restaurants in uptown Kingston have decent food, I was looking forward to my meal and a coffee. I ordered the Country Wrap and a coffee, very straightforward. I took my seat, and assumed that the coffee would be ready when they called my name for the food. Once my name was called and I retrieved my food from the counter, I hesitantly, but politely asked where the coffee is (I am a non-confrontational guy). I was informed that the coffee was self serve and saw behind me the coffee machines. This is my fault, I should have noticed the coffee pots when I walked in, but alas, I didn't notice until after I paid and left a tip, the percentage one would leave at a restaurant with full service. Once I got to my seat with my food and what I thought was a hot drink, I took a bite into my wrap. To my surprise it was mostly bulked up with sweet potatoes and eggs, two cheap staple foods, the bacon was noticeably sparse, and the kind that comes in industrial cardboard box that one might find in the chest freezer of a doomsday prepper, and the cheese was unnoticeable. I should have known something was wrong when I looked at the menu, again my fault, but I don't typically associate sweet potatoes with a "country breakfast", as those usually use a regular potato like a Yukon or Russet. I took my first sip of coffee approximately 5 minutes after I had dispensed it from the machine, it was slightly below room temperature. Now someone might ask "How could unrefrigerated coffee be BELOW room temperature?!?" Well the answer is that if you pour cold half and half into room temperature coffee, it will drop a few degrees. As I finished my meal and room temperature drink, and left the establishment, I noticed an "Equal Exchange" coffee sticker in the window, I did not feel like I had gotten an equal exchange for the approximately $15 + 25% tip I had paid. I felt a tinge of hypocrisy when I noticed how many stickers for progressive causes there were throughout the establishment, yet they are seemingly not paying their employees enough to the point that they feel the need to have a 25% preset tip option on the iPad that asks you a few questions, at a basically self service restaurant.

Went up to the rooftop & what a nice dinner we had. We decided to split the GEM Apple Salad(to die for) Strega Pinsa(pizza,w/mozz,ricotta,italian sausage, broccoli rabe) so frickin good, and some Thai wings(my least favorite, missing the flavor for me a little) I ordered a vodka drink called Strega "something", lol, can't think of the name but it had mint in it and very tasty. Of course our fat asses ordered the 3 Gelato flavors, and ate it all!!! It was so good. The best thing about the whole thing was Dillon, our server, who could take everything we dished out & gave back to us,2 50something divas, we enjoyed bantering with him, and over all, he was super gracious & sweet. Thank you! A winner in my book!

The highlight of our dinner was the truffle fries. We ordered the mussels appetizer, and it was flavorless. My BF enjoyed his burger, but the seafood Alfredo I had was quite disappointing; the pasta was cooked perfectly, but the sauce left much to be desired; it could've used more sauce and flavor. The restaurant is pricey; just a side order of truffle fries was $11.
