May not be the right place if you are looking to get an advise on haircut The long: - 90-free parking if parking in the commercial/retail lot. Register your license plate with the salon when you arrive - stylist Ellen was nice to talk to and I liked her work on my hair - nice shampooing of hair before the cut - good value, ~ CAD 20 for men's haircut - clean and modern ambience - no public restrooms - good Covid-safety measures: staff wore mask, partition between stations - good protection from loose hair, found very little loose hair on my skin and clothes Reasons for not giving 5-stars: - communication (in English) was slightly challenging - did not get any/much input when I asked for hair style suggestion. I didn't know she was a junior stylist until I was already seated, I noticed the she were asking her colleagues for opinions/suggestions and that's when I realized that she's probably a junior stylist. I wanted to get a very light blonde ombre and because I dyed my hair red before it was really hard to get to the colour I wanted. Brittany, Nicole and Stephanie were really great on giving Tania their suggestions and tips on how to come to the most possible colour i wanted. It took us over 4 hours to get my ombre done since I had red dye before. Tania was very patient and nice... and I like how she's not overly talkative, I hate it when when my hairdresser talks too much when all you want to do is relax and read your book. The ladies here are all very nice and helpful, nice ambiance! I'm not sure why is there reviews regarding the service prices. I think it's pretty reasonable, it's almost the same prices as everywhere else. Though I paid cheaper since I got a junior stylist but even then I think a master hairstylist is a fair price. Keep in mind though that it's easy to miss this place, there's no signage on the window that says Mint Lounge, apparently the sign is high up.

I'm surprised this place is not well known yet. Maybe it's recently opened. I had no problem booking appointments unlike some of the overrated salons in downtown. Splash came up and we called them to see if they had any availability. Right away they were able to fit her in. I'm not saying that will always be the case, but they did squish her in between some other appointments and made it happen, which really made our day! The owner is extremely friendly and professional; their covid protocol is great and he did ask me to leave a few times because they were at capacity and I was just a guest (which I totally don't mind because I respect their adherence to the rules). Watching them interact with us and other customers, you can tell they treat everyone with the same curiosity, respect, and thoroughness. They are great at what they do, friendly, and accommodating. My girlfriend's request was met positively despite it's complexity; I have definitely gone to other salons who tell you they're busy when they don't want to deal with you.
