Their staff are highly trained and very friendly. Their studio is super clean, and they offer so many amazing services. I personally love their infra red sauna, tanning and red light therapy. I've been going to Cocoa Tanning for infrared sauna for a little while now and I have to say the last couple of times have not been good at all!! Came in Sunday night for a 6:30pm appointment, the front desk told me to wait a few minutes until the previous person could finish and clean up. I waited almost 30 minutes!!! They gave me a red light therapy to try out for a few minutes while I waited but I was so bored in there, I couldn't enjoy it at all. Meanwhile, my friend who came in for a 6:30pm appointment as well ended up having to wait for me an extra half-hour. To top it all off, I bought the valentines deal which was supposed to be very serene, cool towels, essential oils, the works. Only to have country music blasting throughout my "spa" experience that felt more like a Calgary Stampede. If you're going to offer spa-like services, please keep me music down or to spa music only. This was not a relaxing experience at all and I wasted 1 of my 2 valentines bookings. I made a video of my experience but only photos are allowed. read more

DON'T GO HERE, THEY WILL RUIN YOUR SKIN!! Don't go there!! The staff have no idea what they are doing. I went there for a tan and I explained to the girl that I tan regularly but I just do level 1 beds for minimal time. Accidentally she put me in to a high intense bed for the maximum amount of time. Luckily I got out before the end of the tan BUT I was still burned super bad. When I spoke to another staff a week later. They explained all there staff is new. And that they had put me in the wrong bed by accident. So unprofessional!! read more

I just use the infared sauna here, but I love the salon in general. It's very bright, clean and spacious and the staff are all very friendly. The sauna itself is quite small, what I would imagine a personal sauna for home would be like. However, despite its size, it works very well. It even has lights installed for "colour therapy". Not sure how effective this is, but it's nice to have when I'm reading a book or magazine. I was fortunate enough to get a Groupon for the sauna, so I can't really comment on their prices, but the service and quality of the salon are definitely worth going back for. read more

I've been going here for years as I love their celebrity spray tans, but only recently tried out their infrared sauna + UV tan and all I can say is wow! I'm not sure the science behind it but I think the blood flow to the surface helps to get a darker tan?! Not 100% but either way I walked out of there shades darker than usual! read more

Just alright place, I wouldn't come here again though. The staff is friendly, but the treatment was really sub-par. It felt as if I got it done at a friends house, more than a salon experience. For example, during the teeth whitening, you had to do all the work yourself and afterward rinse your mouth at the sink down the hall which was in their laundry room (which seemed to be under construction​ or just very messy/crowded). The end result was also just ok - about the same result as from white strips. read more

I used the spray tan booth and was really impressed with the colour it left as well as the time the spray tan lasted (just as promised). The staff were very friendly and the instructions given were very clear (this was my first time). My initial concerns about the product being sticky were inaccurate, it goes on smooth and dries before leaving the booth. The booth was also VERY clean and hygienic. Cocoa Tanning is a beautiful facility with clean, contemporary decor and feels very bright and spacious. The rooms are finished well and I am a huge fan of their platinum stand-up! I think that's the one in Room #2. I've only used it once, though, as it broke down at some point inbetween my visits during the week. I hope it's up and running for my 3rd session! I would love to return to Cocoa but I only plan to tan 1x per week so a monthly membership does not work for me. I am not a fan of $ -to- point system -to- minutes. My drop-in using points would work out to be quite expensive, roughly $15 per tan. Hours of operation are tricky for me. I typically tan on Sundays but they do not open until 12pm. Weekday evenings are tough unless I finish work early. There are no early AM openings. No reservations here either. read more

Worst spray tan I've ever gotten... the next day my tan was not even what so ever, my arms were way darker than every other part of my body. I used the blending lotion and exfoliated prior to my spray. Not to mention it was $60. Would not recommend. read more

I went using a Groupon to whiten my teeth and it was a pleasurable experience. I only had 20 mins but i achieved results, nothing drastic but I could tell a few shades whiter. As the salon employees are not dentists, you will be applying all of the whitening agents to your own teeth. I liked this because I am meticulous and knew exactly where I wanted the product. The blue LED light is placed over your mouth but not touching for 20 min intervals. I enjoyed the experience and would go again. The tanning salon is small and cute, they offer packages at pretty great rates for tanning and have a selection of beds. I have not used them but over hear the employees informing another customer. They also offer early bird (before noon) tanning. With a lot of selection of tanning lotions. read more

Let me preface this review with the fact that the service is always fantastic here. The facilities are clean and well kept. The beds seem to be properly maintained. There is a reason why there is typically a wait. I rarely get sprays tans, but I was in need as I had a fitness photo shoot. I think it goes without saying that anyone that's familiar with the show Friends always fears the "Ross effect" when it comes to spray tans. No one wants to get out and exclaim "I'm an 8!" In horror. So I asked the girl at the front about their Celebrity Spray tan. I purchased the full package with moisturizer and bronzer. I told her that it was for a fitness shoot and she did recommend their darkest shade. I had done a fitness competition a week and a half prior so I knew it wouldn't be that deep, but I was expecting to look bronzed. The booth itself was wonderful. I loved the open concept. I had done spray tans before where you literally feel like you're being choked out. This was not the case. It smelled good as well. After my tan as per usual I knew it would take several hours to set. I made sure to wear baggy clothes in hopes of even distribution. Well the hours went by. I didn't shower. I didn't sweat. My "darkest shade" tan was very underwhelming. Even my husband asked if I went. The only evidence were some spots where I failed to properly execute the barrier cream. For the 50 dollars plus tax it was extremely disappointing. Especially with my photo shoot. I was on the road to the Okanagan to see the photographer or else I would have gone back to get resprayed or at least show them the evidence (or lack there of) of my "tan". Again I want to reiterate the staff is great and friendly. I did want to write a review to forewarn others though. The money spent on my spray was such a waste. Especially as a fitness competitor I've not done their competition tan, but this experience would be a big red flag for those looking for the right results. read more

Great customer service. Had a mixup with arriving late for an appointment and being disappointed when the spray tan technician had left already. Wound up getting in contact with the owner, Carrie, and she offered to make a special appointment for me the next day. Not only this, but she did my spray tan on the house for my trouble. I used specifially their infrared sauna for a long time. I can't tell you anything about their tanning beds. Never used them. Nice clean facilities. The supplies are plentiful, the sauna is good. Prices are fine compared to other places. I had a minor complaint due to some poor service over the phone once. What happened was I called to book an apt. And the person who picked up put me on hold. But she didn't really put me on hold, because I could hear her talking for five minutes to someone about some movie she saw. Then I waited and nothing. So I hung up and called again and she apologized for that and just laughed it off. Wow. I've had other problems with the service that I won't go into here. (I complained to the manager who offered a credit for the next session, but I never got it for reasons explained below) The next thing was the last straw that made me stop going. After going several times, I finally decided to purchase a package to get a good deal. In the end, I got ripped off. I had several sessions thru the package at first. Then did not go for a while. The last time I went in for a session, I expected to not have to pay seeing as I did not use up all the sessions in my package yet. Then I was told my package expired . So basically I paid over a hundred bucks for just a few sessions. I was only away for a few months, so I don't know why they have to have a stupid expiration date, seeing that I prepaid a big amount for what I expect to be at least 10 sessions total. Then she asked if I wanted to purchase another package. (Are you kidding me????) I feel pretty ripped off by that, so although the place is nice facilities, they unfortunately lost my business, due to unprofessional service and policies. read more

Cocoa Tanning's customer service is outstanding. I feel welcome every time AND the staff remember who I am even though I only come a few times a month at most. I am a fair-skinned red-head and for the first time in my life I have learned how to tan because the staff actually took the time to walk me through the best steps to tanning for my type of skin. I've tried the all the tanning beds and the Versa Spa spray tan - both great! I am so comfortable with Cocoa that I think I'll try out other services I've never considered before, like lash extensions. I trust the staff completely. After doing some research about tanning salons in Vancouver, I came across Cocoa tanning and ended up getting the Spray tan. I was always skeptical about spray tans because I was scared it wouldn't be even or that I would be orange, but I could not have been more pleased with my experience. Kerri did an amazing job explaining the tanning machine process and after care And she made me feel totally comfortable. My spray tan is so even and very natural looking. I have received many compliments and it is now 4 full days later and I still have a glowing golden tan. Will definately be a repeat customer!! read more
