I had a party to go to and was very happy with the make up application. Also, the application was free with a same day purchase of $59 worth of makeup. Lashes not included and must be purchased separately. It was just over half an hour for the makeup application from start to finish. They used brands that they carry and sell in the store. I noticed Jane Iradale, Glo Skin Beauty and Amaterasu were used for my make up application. I told my makeup artist that I have oily skin and wanted a long lasting makeup look for the day. I was very surprised that the Amaterasu eyeliner lasted 7 hours (I removed my makeup by then) without any smearing. Usually, most eyeliners start to melt off in a few hours even with a primer on me. I would definitely be coming back for future makeup applications. I noticed they had a loyalty program now that I am writing a review. I might consider joining that depending on my subsequent visits. read more

I went there recently with a group to have hair and make-up done for a wedding. The staff was friendly. The make-up artist did a quick and beautiful job. My only complaint is that there didn't seem to be much eyeshadow or lipstick colors to choose from. The girl that styled my hair was soooo slow. The hairstyle itself was nice, but by the time I got home (15 min drive), my hair was already starting to lose its curl and go limp. Because I came in a group, the others had to wait around for the test of us to be finished. There is no waiting area to sit. Also by the time the last his were done, the girls who got their hair curled first were already losing their curls. So frustrating! read more

This place is located out of nowhere at a small store. The area where they do the facials and massages is separated from the product shelves and walk-ins by a curtain. Walk-ins can actually see the customers lying to get their facials. My story with the spa: two days before my appointment they called me to ask if I would be willing to change to a different day. Since the whole point of me getting this facial was to have it done the day before my trip, I didn't want them to change my appointment around. So they told me the person who is going to do my facial will be answering the phone also! On the day of appointment I called them to ask if they are ok if I get there a half hour later than what we had scheduled and the receptionist said it's perfectly fine. After having so much trouble finding the place I got there 10 minutes later and they simply refused to take me in while one of the ladies working there was actually getting a facial herself. read more

Throughout the application, the artist (don't remember her name) checked in to be sure we were on the same page. At the cost of the application is redeemable in product! I went to Evolution on Monday April 8th for a hybrid fill which cost $75 and left very unsatisfied. My right eye barely had any lashes on them; I left the salon with my lashes looking almost the same as when I entered. I called to see what they could do for me on the Wednesday and the person that picked up was very accommodating and said I could come in for them to take a look and make them better. Went in again on Wednesday and the same girl was there to "fix" them for me. I left feeling a little better than before but the lashes fell off within the next two days and I had the same empty spots as before the fill. So within a week, I had to find another place to do a fill for me. I do know how to take care of the lashes and have been to many places in South Surrey. Just really not satisfied with the quality of work done by Cassidy. read more

I was there on Saturday with a friend to have our makeup done. Unfortunately they couldn't find our reservation so instead of having the experience together we had to have it done one at a time. Not quite what we had wanted since I had somewhere to be before we could finish. Our makeup artist, Sydney, asked what 'look' I was going for and then very competently proceded to make me up. She very willingly explained what she was applying and why. I was pleased with the results. read more

The gals at Evolution are experienced and helpful. I love the free express facials that are offered with the purchase of products. I also enjoy the evening promotional events that showcase Evolution's product lines.... free swag bags, wine &/or sparkling water and cheese are offered. There is no hard sell involved.... I have been to several of these events. Four stars instead of five because demo's by product specialists are performed on the Evolution staff... the demos should be performed on attendees at the event, Evolution's clientele, NOT STAFF. The most recent promo event that I attended was for eye make-up.... the demo's were done for daytime and night-time wear... both demo's were performed on STAFF members - the staff members were both dark haired. I would suggest one demo on dark hair, dark complected and one demo on fair hair, fair complected.... this way clientele have a better concept of product lines. Demo's should not be performed on Staff... but on volunteers from attendees at the event read more

I paid around $900 for a package of IPL treatments which are supposed to even out the skin color and remove or minimize brown spots. The treatments did absolutely NOTHING. No difference whatsoever. The spa is very clever, however, as they have you sign an agreement beforehand indicating that you understand that everyone has a different result (i.e. results vary). Their solution was to tell me that I needed more treatments. Of course I was very eager to throw more good money after bad... not . It was very upsetting as, like many people, it was something I really could not afford but I trusted that it would help, and I allowed myself this "splurge". read more

I was home for a wedding in August and visited Evolution to have my makeup done. They were having an in-store special that day so it was very busy but they managed to fit me in with Joanna Bylo. I can't say enough good things about Joanna! Not only did she do a fabulous job on my makeup (teaching me some great tips along the way) but she fixed my hair! I was freaking out a little because I had an updo done at Blo and the more I looked at it in the mirror while she did my makeup, the more I just wasn't feeling it! We both agreed it was a little too "prom" looking. I told her my concerns and right away she offered to fix it. She got me some delicious lemonade and told me not to worry! What a lifesaver. She ended up taking the whole updo out (all 30 bobby pins and all) and gave me some gorgeous beachy waves instead. It was much more ME and I felt beautiful when I left! Thank you Joanna! I received lots of compliments that night at the wedding. And the whole staff working that day was wonderful. The girls create a fun, yet professional vibe in the store.
