It's a small, female‑owned space with a team of talented stylists who are consistently kind, skilled, and attentive. The atmosphere is warm, the service is thoughtful, and the reputation they have in the community is absolutely earned. I always feel taken care of here, no matter what I'm coming in for. Highly recommend this salon and the wonderful team behind it. I want to give a special shout‑out to Chloe, who recently did a bang trim for me. This was my first time in her chair, even though I've been coming to Zoom for years. I've been going through a financially difficult period and haven't been able to afford regular haircuts for a while. Chloe was incredibly intuitive and sensitive to where I was at. She showed me so much kindness and compassion that it honestly caught me off guard -- in the best way. She offered thoughtful suggestions to help me maintain my extremely thick, hard‑to‑manage hair during this uncertain time, and it meant more to me than she probably realized. Her care, her gentleness, and her practical advice made a real difference on a day when I needed it. Thank you, Chloe. Your kindness made things feel a little easier during a very hard moment, and I'm truly grateful.

This was a first for me as I'm usually just sitting in the regular salon chair while my hair gets done, but this space felt more relaxing. They also had plenty of tea options for guests. One thing that I did notice was that one side of my hair was slightly lighter than the other. I think most people wouldn't notice it though. Would definitely recommend Zoom.

I have super curly hair and requested a cut out of the norm, she was happy to oblige and did a fantastic job! Her personality was warm and made me feel at home. I would definitely recommend Atomic and Emily to everyone I know in the area! Thank you for making me feel and look awesome!

I was initially so excited about this salon. My daughter had a wonderful experience with Shannon. I…read morebooked in with Sara for a cut and color. I was very clear about wanting an ash or cool blonde. Initially the first "reveal" of color showed a greeny-pinkish disaster and Sara said that it would be better "next time" and was willing to let me leave like that. This was the first issue. I couldn't leave like that, so she re-bleached my hair and put on a toner again. I left with strawberry blonde hair with orange ends that she said could not be colored. That visit cost $230. Sara told me she gave me a discount because she had initially left the toner on too long. I cancelled my subsequent appointment because I was not thrilled with the whole experience. I went elsewhere and they gave me the ash blonde I wanted including the ends with no problem. Atomic was really good about following up and wanting to know why I had cancelled with Sara as I had expressed to the receptionist my dismay at paying so much for a service that was in no way satisfactory. They said I had a free cut and color waiting there as a compensation. I didn't ask for this complimentary treat, but four days ago I decided to go in and I asked for Sara so there would be no hard feelings. Mistake! Even as I went to sit in the chair I asked her if it was okay and she just deadpanned back, are you okay? I was in and out in 17 minutes. She didn't wash my hair or offer to condition it. She offered no beverage. She told me my hair was too damaged to color and basically made me feel like total crap. She said she wouldn't touch my hair and would refer me to a colleague. At one point she held up a piece of my hair and rolled her eyes. Just so immature! This was supposed to be a level 3 highly professional colorist. I felt like I was in a bad sit com. As I'm leaving she asked "do you want to buy product?" and even that was so unprofessional, instead of offering to take me through what might have helped re-condition my hair, she just said it in a flat and completely unpleasant way. I went in today and met Emily who was very sweet. She said she would color my hair, but only if I got another cut (she charges $58) and a $20 hair treatment. She would consult with Sara but thought the color would be complimentary. The whole thing left me feeling I'd been given the runaround. I cancelled with Emily, just because this salon made a treat turn into something very different. It's a pretty salon and it's staffed with tons of stylists, and has a great reputation! I feel I got paired with the wrong person, one who lacked professionalism and maturity and spoiled what was a good experience for my daughter and also could have been for me. There are limited options for a higher end salon in Ladner and Tsawwassen but I would rather drive downtown than go through this again. So disappointed.

I arrived a couple minutes early for my appointment and was greeted by Trevor. He asked what we would be doing [with my hair]. I had a blonde ombre look going at the bottom half of my hair; the top half was a reddish-brown. My roots, however, are a dark brown which were coming through and looking horrible. I explained that I wanted the reddish-brown to be dyed the same colour as my roots, but I wanted to keep the blonde. Essentially, I wanted a reverse ombre (ie. I wanted to make things as complicated as possible). Trevor was patient with me and understood what I wanted. He got to work on my hair right away and was a pleasure to talk to. He made conversation with me the entire time he worked on my hair, which is something I appreciate. When he washed out my colour, he asked what I wanted to do to my hair. I stressed that I just wanted a trim. He showed me how much he was going to cut before he cut it, to ask if I was okay with it. I agreed. He blow-dried and flat ironed my hair after and applied a split-end recovery serum to my ends (which I ended up buying with the help of a 30% coupon that Magicuts had). My hair looked fantastic when he was done with it! I also couldn't believe the price: it was under $100 (before tip, of course)! It's over a week later and my hair and colour still look great. A huge thank you to Trevor for making my hair look healthy again!

The color my hairstylist used for my hair made my head itchy. This happened for the first time in my life, I've been using the color for more than a decade now.
