She kept cutting and cutting and instead of detangling my hair, she grabbed a blade again and chopped off some pieces. When I told her that I didn't like it, she started rolling her eyes, was blaming me and she never apologized for my hair and the bad service I received. She just got mad and told the manager it was my fault. The manager of the salon was amazing though. She listened to my concerns (even though the hairstylist tried to cut me off multiple times) and offered that another hairstylist fixed my hair. She placed me with an awesome lady that was very nice and tried to make me feel good about my haircut. She blended my layers and even out my hair since it was all choppy and awful, and it looked a little better.

I received a promotion at the time of $50 credit worth of services from the salon since I had purchased over $150 of products. At the time of purchase I asked the young lady (JT) serving me if it would be possible make an exception to extend the promotion for services until the end of 2023 (or even offer the equivalent in products) mentioning that my wife is battling breast cancer and has lost all her hair, eyebrows and eyelashes due to her current chemotherapy treatments that will last a few more months before her expected surgery. JT took my phone number and told me that she would ask the manager and get back to me within the next day or two. I never received the courtesy of a call back. On New Year's Eve, my wife called the salon to inquire about the same service (or products) promotion possible extension. The lady answering the call put my wife on a brief hold to ask the manager. Shortly after the lady mentioned that it wouldn't be possible and no exception would be made even though my wife explain that she had lost all her hair as a result of presently battling cancer. I trust that your salon enjoys and relies on the support of the local community to generate revenue and make it a viable business. Now that the shoe is on the other foot and someone from the community is asking for your business support and understanding to extend a small promotion, you just shut the door on them. Shame on your business, your manager and staff at the salon for their lack follow up, compassion and empathy while someone from your community is going through hardship and difficult times. The small gesture of extending the promotion right away in this particular case, would have make such a positive difference to the customer service experience and would have showed how important your clients are to your business. In the future, when my wife or I purchase Aveda or any products, we will go out of our way to take our business somewhere else or order from the internet. We will also ensure we tell everyone how terrible your business practices are. We also intent to send an email to Aveda Canada to tell them how poor of a brand ambassador your Salon and your staff are for their products and business in general.

I was offered water prior to getting started. Tina was my stylist and she asked me questions on what I wanted, how I normally style/maintain my hair, etc. After all that was discussed, I had my hair washed and received one of the most relaxing head massages, ever!
