drove more than hour for the sisig but they dont have egg and water.. the servings are so small i feel like its not worth it

So so so so good!!! We came on taco Tuesday so we tried a few of the tacos, lumpia, and drinks. The Jamaica-mansi and pandan horchata are INSANELY delicious. The lumpia is perfect and the tacos we will definitely return for!!!

Food was good! A little pricey for a rice bowl and some pork. Service was quick and easy it's a small place in west lake in Filipino town came after work around 6pm on a Tuesday!

Food was incredible! I had the pork sisig, and the pork lumpia. I was more than impressed. Customer service is a 10/10 as well. Irene knew the menu well and was so kind to us. Thank you HiFi!

HiFi Kitchen is one of those spots putting Filipino food on the map! This spot is located in the heart of Historic Filipinotown and street parking will be your best bet. They have about 3-4 tables for seating outside and a table and bar seating inside. As for their menu, this spot is serving up some delicious Filipino inspired rice bowls, tacos, and breakfast silogs. Wifey and I stopped by for lunch and got a spread of the La'ing Potato Taco, Talib Kawali Rice Bowl, Silog Fries with Tapa, and a Pandan Horchata to wash it all down. Everything we had was delicious with comforting yet unique flavors. Overall, I would definitely put this spot on your list if you are visiting or nearby Historic Filipinotown. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Don't forget to check out some of the cool local Filipino creators and their merch inside the shop too. Shoutout to the Filipino fam!

HiFi Kitchen put a unique spin to classic dishes. I visited on a Saturday afternoon, and the store was mostly empty. I was immediately able to order and find a table inside. The service was efficient: my food arrived shortly after I sat down. I really liked the environment of the store: there was merch for sale by Filipino-owned businesses. I tried the HiFi tacos, described as having Angeleno-inspired Filipino flavors. I got two tacos: one chicken adobo, one tocino pastor. Both tacos were so delicious! I really enjoyed both tacos' seasonings and garnishings. I will note that the chicken adobo was cold when served, which was a bit disappointing. However, I would absolutely try these tacos again because the flavors were phenomenal. I also got an order of pork lumpia. The lumpia were so crispy and warm, packed with flavor and paired with a sweet chili sauce. I really enjoyed the bite-sized pieces because every piece had a perfect crunch to it. I cannot wait to visit again and try some other dishes! I have my eye on the breakfast silog, la'ing, and talib kawali.

WHY WE WENT HERE: - brunch THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - located off Beverly Blvd closest to the Union Ave cross street in Historic Filipinotown - limited outdoor seating with turf (unshaded) THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - eclectic; mix of Filipino-American and 90s hip hop vibes - small/cozy with some floating shelves of Filipino-American merch - limited indoor seating as well THE (COUNTER) MENU: - breakfast (silogs, breakfast sandwiches, lugaw, champorado) - savory items THE (TV SCREEN) MENU: - heavy rotation - b-sides - encore - drinks WHAT WE ORDERED: - Tapa Silog - Talib Kawali (play on words for Black Star rapper Talib Kweli) - Lolo's Saltado - Cactus Cooler - Pandan Horchata THE TASTE: - the garlic fried rice in the Tapa Silog and the plain white rice in the Talib Kawali were swapped (by request) - Tapa was very much like bulgogi, but slightly thicker (cut and sauce); best tapa I've personally had (I feel like the kind I had growing up just felt drier?) - Talib Kawali - the kawali itself was crunchy and juicy; very well done; the garlic fried rice was good and the pico de gallo was a nice touch - Lolo's Saltado was GREAT! the crema threw me off though - Cactus Cooler was just a canned soda; SO thought it was fine - Pandan Horchata was GOOD! CUSTOMER SERVICE: - warm, welcoming, accommodating

I had the pork/lechón rice bowl, and it was AMAHZING! The pork was crispy, but the fat stayed gooey. The sunny side up egg was great. Sprinkle of pickled veggies added a different flavor to each spoonful. Service was friendly. Resto was neat. Happy I went for the first, and looking forward to taking others.

This place has such a great retro vibe. They sell merch inside and it's really kinda of a cool spot. I ordered the crispy pork belly plate and pork lumpia for takeout lunch and the guy at the counter was super helpful and answered my questions and even gave me suggestions. The pork lumpia was delicious! Crispy on the outside and super juicy and flavorful on the inside, plus the dipping sauce was perfect. The crispy pork belly plate is what I wasn't a huge fan of and maybe it's just because I'm not too familiar with this Filipino dish, but it was really extra EXTRA crispy. Like honestly the crispy skin almost chipped my tooth. The sauce for the pork was really vinegar forward and there was pickled veggies also very vinegar forward and the egg had no salt or flavor at all. This plate confused me a little bit. Plus there's no parking here so I had to park down the street a little ways away. Maybe next time I'll try their most popular dish to get a better sense of their food,

Pop-up dinner place vibe offering great lunch bowls. Ordered La'ing with crispy pork at $18 and a cantaloop drink for $6. The crispy pork is amazing. It's crispy but not tough at all. With buttery fats that can make chinese style crispy pork or korean samgyeopsal proud. The la'ing itself is proof that vegan food doesn't have to be bland. It can be rich and satisfying. Top it off with the perfect summer drink, the cantaloop thingy, then you have a nice and wholesome lunch. The pricing is a bit on the premium side but the quality reflects the price tag.

Okay this place is Filipino approved! The exterior and interior of the small restaurant is very cute and I love all the little knickknacks they have around the restaurant. They also have a variety of Filipino-themed merchandise that is tempting to buy! The staff were also really nice too, very pattern while I was ordering and went out of their way to seek out the prices of the merchandise I was inquiring about. As for the food, it was pretty good and at cheap prices. I Loved the crispy pork lechon and garlic rice. I was skeptical of the cantaloupe drink since it looked very clear, but it was actually pretty flavorful! Also love that they have a decent amount of veggies that come with the meals. I would've liked if the chocolate champorado was sweeter though.

Still been trying to find good Filipino cuisine here in LA and this is definitely one of the places I would recommend! We were welcomed with really friendly staff and the vibes in the restaurant were very homey. I enjoyed that they sold other trinkets like Filipino books, candles, clothes, and much more! Although we were looking for traditional pork sisig, the veggie sisig was pretty good and the adobo had great sabao (soup). My only thing is that I wish they had more selection like Kare Kare, Pork Sisig, Arroz caldo, and other classics! They do have taco Tuesday so I think I definitely need to come back and try that! Overall, HiFi is a spot I could see myself coming back to :)

Ambiance: small food count style cafe for Philippine food, street parking in the neighborhood Service: very fast and friendly, most food was precooked and ready to go Food: simple menu items CHICKEN ADOBO - *** Tender boneless chicken thighs simmered in our signature cranberry-soy marinade served with cucumber salad TALIB KAWALI - **** talib Kawali crispy marinated pork belly, with housemade cucumber salad, atsara, cilantro chimichurri, the pork tasted good with chimichurri sauce, recommend Price: moderate portions and affordable prices, about $15~$20 per person for a quick lunch bite

The braised pork belly was so incredibly soft and melt-in-your-mouth, and paired with the pickled carrots and cucumbers tucked into that steamed bao bun - so juicy. We also got the scallion pancakes which were crispy, chewy, and came with a soy ginger dipping sauce. The wood ear mushroom and bean curd stick salad was a nice lighter contrast to the heavier dishes too. We tried the beef noodles as well. The noodles were a bit on the tougher side, which is kind of expected with this style, but the flavors were solid overall. But do NOT sleep on dessert. Good, especially the crispy parts, but definitely a little oily. Corn pancakes: 8/10. Good pancake. The cornflakes work well on the pancakes to add a crunch it comes in a 3 stack. Would've been better if the cornflakes were put in between layers as well, especially given the price. Steak and eggs crispy rice: 7/10. The crispy rice was too oily. I couldn't taste and enjoy the rice until I dabbed the bulk of the oil off. Only then was it good. Roasted half chicken: 6/10. Nothing special, honestly. While the food is good, it's so expensive and it doesn't help that parking is paid, too. It's not a paved lot, so it feels kind of bad to pay for it. This was my first time trying Kyrgyz food and everything I had here was delicious!…read more I visited this hidden gem in Koreatown on a weeknight and unfortunately they did not have several menu items available due to lack of ingredients. However, I just got whatever was available. Going down the list of foods my friends and I shared: - Manti: Huge dumplings made out of beef and fat. These were meaty and tasty. They paired well with the side red sauce which was tangy and helped cut the fatiness of the manti. Dumpling skin could've been softer, but still pretty good. It is 5 pieces per order. - Kuurdak: A beef and potato dish. The beef was tender and I loved the flavorful potatoes with onions! Great combo and felt like a nice home-cooked dish. - Samsa: A pastry stuffed with beef. Loved this! The pastry was warm and flaky and stuffed with lots of beef. Would be even better if it came with some sort of sauce. - Kompot: A fruit drink made out of apples, pomegranate, and peaches. Fruity, smooth and refreshing.
