Such a great restaurant--ask to sit in the bar for a fun prohibition environment. Amazing wine list, seafood entrees and Brussels sprout appetizer made with no bacon (I never find this so was excited since I am not a bacon fan!). I am also allergic to gluten and the staff was fabulous in ensuring foods were safe. They even made me a chocolate gluten free desert since they don't have one on the menu (Fabulous!!!) The service could not have been better--the manager truly went above and beyond for our dinner. We will definitely go back! read more

There were six in our party, we made reservations and our table was ready for us when we arrived. We all ordered drinks which were of a good size and our waiter was very attentive to us. We all ordered small plates for appetizers, we were all impressed with the amount of food on the small plates and the quality of the food. From the cheese plate, the potato plate or the flatbread we were all pleased. For dinner my husband ordered the steak and I had the tuna. Both of them were prepared correctly and were of good quality. It was a lot of food! We were celebrating birthdays and had cheesecake, I highly recommend ordering the cheesecake! You have different options for toppings and they were very good. I love that this restaurant is small and quaint. Looking forward to coming back very soon. read more

My wife and I have been here several times both with groups and by ourselves. We've had a great experience and food every time. We've mixed up what we order and so far I haven't had anything that I haven't liked. Great atmosphere and staff. read more

This was great find! Great good and service with combined with in-house blended cocktails made this an easy choice for dinner two nights in a row with traveling though on business. Ask the manager, Noah about their custom blended and aged bourbons. read more

Super cool vibe! Great bar, bartenders and food! Manhattan was perfect!! Filet and shrimp cocktail were amazing! My only suggestion would be choice of TV programs in bar! No one wants to eat fine food and watch MMA it's less than appetizing! read more

Please don't review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you're connected in any way to the owner or employees. Great food, cozy atmosphere, attentive staff, and now on the almost top of our list for good meals. The noise level was a little more than we preferred, especially with pop music which we do not like. But, we at least we're able to talk, unlike some popular restaurants Had trouble finding this place, even with Google app. Once a sign is put up, that should change We has scallops which were outstanding with tender asparagus evidently picked at the right time. The kale salad was nicely complimented with buttermilk dressing and the chopped salad was wonderful For dessert, we prefer simple items. We were so happy that our waiter suggested dishes of gelato. What a great way to end our meal! The Carmel flavor was marvelous!! We will definitely return read more

Staff was fantastic. The food was delicious and the drinks were amazing. Would definitely recommend stopping by

Just passing through Fort Wayne and happened to stumble upon this restaurant. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Our waitress was amazing and so helpful with perfect recommendations. We had wedge salad and French onion soup, both were delicious! The ribeye steak had a wonderful flavor and cooked to perfection. To top the meal off we shared the cream Brulé , probably the best we have ever had , and we've had a lot ! We had several hrs to travel before stopping for the night , our waitress fixed a coffee to go! We would definitely love to go back to this place some day read more

Have been 4-5 times now. Food is always excellent. They have a nice cocktail and draft beer menu. We don't drink wine, but that menu appears to be in order as well. Service has always been top notch. Restaurant definitely has the "speakeasy" vibe once you get inside. What I like best: the owner has been there every time we've been and usually brings at least one item on your order to your table. He's very personable...and I notice things like that. read more

We live in the area and decided to give Hideout a try. The bar is great and the service was exceptional. The meal will cost $100 without drinks. With drinks we spent $160. For that price I do have some level of high execrations. The ambience of the main dining room was poor. The lights were up high and the music selection was 80 and 90s wedding music. Horrible! The food was simply average. The Caesar salad was the best thing we had. The sea bass was well cooked but bland. The filet was sent back and after a second try still rare. The potatoes that came with the filet tasted like boxed potatoes and the asparagus was undercooked. It would have been nice to see a manager but no one ever stopped by to check in. Very disappointing. We tried, but, will not be back. read more

I'm a bit surprised at the over-all rating of this place. It's not a bad place by any means...it's just forgettable. The server was very informative, almost too talkative. The food was priced about right for what you receive, and there's a good variety of alcoholic drinks. The atmosphere is tastefully decorated, although we felt we were in some back area, as there were only a few tables around us. The tables around us were also pretty close, so you could hear everyone's conversation. Regardless, the food was good. I just can't see us going back. There are too many other great restaurants that are just better. I would give 3.5 stars, but since I can't...I will round down today. read more

After my first review I was contacted by the owner. It was clear that he cares about his service and offered my wife and I a gift card and the chance to try them out again. I can tell you from experience, there are many restaurants out there that would not do this or care. More updates to come. read more

Incredibly wonderful Sea Bass...some of the best we ever had. Other entree delicious as well. Soup and salad very good. Server Amanda was perfect: warm, efficient, attentive. Too bad we are from out of town or we would return. read more

Stopped in here for dinner while in town on business. Great steak at a great price! Friendly wait staff and they could get $50 for a steak like this in Chicago but theirs includes sides and a great caesar salad. Recommend this place for sure, you wont be disappointed. Great establishment. read more

Took my father to dinner there last night as a Fathers Day gift. He ordered the scallops and I had the ribeye. His scallops were cooked well but rather small for the rather large price his faro was gritty, my ribeye was more medium than medium rare and not seasoned at all....I had to add salt to everything and I rarely use salt. The fingerling potatoes were supposed to be garlic rubbed but again not seasoned and the mushroom were horribly overcooked. The sauce was good as well as there Hideout beer. All in all I have had far far better food from chain restaurants for far less that $87.00 plus tip. Very disappointed! read more

Outstanding food and atmosphere... probably the best resturant in Fort Wayne. The ribs were outstanding as was the chicken and waffles small plate. The only let down was the dessert. We did the brownie with ice cream. It was a little older tasting and the ice cream tasted like it was out of a supermarket. read more

This is an updated review and another good one for Hideout 125. My girlfriend and I had made this place a Valentine's Day tradition. I made reservations about a month ago right her on Yelp. Which was easy and convenient. Our waitress was super nice. They bring a jar of water to the table and continue to top it off. I started with a Moscow Mule. They do have their own version called the Hideout Mule. Which I want to try someday. My drink was so good that my girlfriend that doesn't drink liked it and we ordered another one. The bread was delicious. Our appetizer was the Brussel sprouts. It was probably the best appetizer/Brussel sprouts I've ever had. The sauce and parmesan cheese along with the slight smoky/roasted taste just made it. The Cesar salad was next. Another delicious gem. Topping it all off with the ribeye with gold potatoes and mushrooms. The steak had some sort of cheese melted on top. Again, not a disappointment and was probably the best meal I've ever had. It was pricey. However, you get what you pay for. I will continue to support this establishment on Valentine's Day and now come more often throughout the year. It worth every bit of five stars and I would give them more if I could! read more

See all

We stopped for a drink and a light bite. My husband got a raspberry hammer and I got the hideout mule. Both were great choices. Strong but not too strong. They just changed their calamari and it was really good. It was crispy and tender. It came with a white sauce (maybe a Parmesan ranch) and a spicy marinara sauce. We also got some French onion soup (6 kinds of onions don't ya know) topped with Swiss cheese. We asked for a couple slices of toast French bread for dipping and it was also great. We scanned the dessert menu and both be blueberry cobbler and dark chocolate brownie ala mode (both dessert) sounded wonderful but we'll have to save that for the next time. Tim, our server, was very attentive and easy to joke around with. Tim worked in the bar area. The TVs were nice to watch the ncaa basketball tourney. The fofood d menu had high end dinners you would expect. Surf and turf was $50 and that was the highest priced. The manager also checked in with us and was glad to hear everything was good. read more

We just had the most lovely meal here! We started with the Brussels sprouts small plate, which was good, but not great -- everything that followed WAS great!! (Even the bread was exceptional!) My husband and I shared his kale salad, then he had the Chilean sea bass and I had the scallops and grits small plate. Coupled with a yummy cocktail for me and a beer for him, it was an absolutely wonderful meal in a lovely setting with an attentive and sweet waitress. We will be back soon!! read more

We went to the Hideout 125 for the first time tonight. We were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was perfect, decorated upscale prohibition era. Our waiter, Nick, was a rock starr! He was super attentive but not overly so. He had impeccable timing with our food. Our drinks were spot on with a good selection of craft cocktails to choose from. The Chilean sea bass was the best I have ever had. It was cooked to perfection! So much better than some of the local restaurants known for their seafood. Hideout 125 is definitely a new favorite for us! read more

My Husband and I went here for our first anniversary this Wednesday. My Husband has the featured steak, a big bone in ribeye which was delicious. I chose the filet medallions and was very pleased with that, we ended our meal with the creme brûlée which was AMAZING. The atmosphere is very accommodating and the service has no equal...totally glad we went, and we will be back. read more

Great atmosphere ..great service.. Been here twice and both experiences where great. My hubby & I had reservations at Hideout 125 for Valentine's Day. The atmosphere is wonderful, really hip & romantic. The mules & cocktails were outstanding. Hubby had oysters (oh my gosh did he love them) and I had an apple butter pork chop that was amazing. Oh & the cinnamon rolls with bacon? Get outta here!!! So good. Definitely will be back!!!! read more

Absolutely delicious! I was not even the least bit disappointed with our meal, service, or atmosphere. This place is great for a romantic dinner. Our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable and made us feel at ease, this being our first time. Ordered the wine flight which was delicious, the sea bass, and the cheese and charcuterie plate. All were outstanding and hideout 125 will definitely be a place we return to when in Fort Wayne! read more

Hideout 125 - Place is not well lit for pictures :P ...Sea Bass and risotto with sundried tomato tapenade, crispy prosciutto, and balsamic - Seafood Near Me - Fort Wayne, Indiana

Im not a real bells and whistles type of feel when dining and the atmosphere is like a small town high class place. The service is quick and of good quality. Tomahawk porkchop is amazing with a stuffed bell pepper. After a long day, really hit the spot and I know ill be sleeping well tonight read more

Great food, great service. I had the scallops which melted in my mouth and hubbs had the fillet that was cooked to a perfect medium rare. 10/10 would recommend read more

This was our "date night" and we were very pleased. The cozy decor was warm and comfortable. Our waitress, Bridgette, was knowledgeable about the menu and their special cocktails. The cinnamon Old Fashioned my new favorite! I ordered the calamari after reading recommendations from previous diners, but it was a disappointment for me. The batter and sauce very good but I didn't care for the thick portions of the squid. My Caesar salad and short rib pasta very good. And my husband thoroughly enjoyed his 8 oz. filet. We also liked we were able to take our unfinished wine bottle home to finish. This is not a place if you're on a budget and our bar bill exceeded the food bill, but it was a very nice "date night" and we will be back. read more

We really enjoyed the drinks and our small plate however I ordered a ny strip and the cook on it was not even and definitely way over medium rare. The manager did have it remade however it just isn't as tasty as other options in the city. I would be back for drinks but will pass on getting entrees read more

A wonderful restaurant that offers a true fine dining experience and quite exquisite food and drnk. I had the ribs which were simply delicious, as was the mashed potato and the green bean-onion-bacon. My whiskey sour was tasty although perhaps not the best i had ever tasted. I found the service to be phenomenal. The overall atmosphere is ambient and chill. Finally, the desserts were simply wonderful too. Easily 5/5 read more

Was somewhat disappointed in our meal considering the good reviews. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Good atmosphere with 1930s motif and fun music in the background of that same era. Disappointment was in the food. First, it was not a busy night but our food to forever to get to our table. I had the prime rib and my wife tried the sea bass. Both were over cooked. This restaurant is not inexpensive so I would expect more. Not worth the price and not likely to come back. read more

My wife and I found ourselves without children and decided to celebrate our anniversary a week early at a place we both have had great times at in the past. Our reservations we booked online went perfect, and we were seated as soon as walked in the door. Our drinks arrived promptly, and as usual bread arrived on the table. When it was time to order, my wife ordered ribeye med/rare and I ordered sea bass with a filet med/well added on. The food arrived and the waiter disappeared for about 20 minutes. The sea bass was excellent, but the steaks doneness must have been switched. The wife's ribeye was closer to well done and my filet was almost rare towards the center. My risotto portion was barely large enough to show under the sea bass, and slightly undercooked. By the time our waiter showed back up and asked how things were and we explained why our steaks were only partially eaten we were over it. Box it up, we would like to leave now. Not sure if this is a sign of the future, but I know it was a disappointing 15th anniversary dinner.. read more

My husband and I went here for our anniversary last week. The place was packed. You could see the people waiting in the lobby, spilling into the dining room. Because it was so busy the wait staff and management were pacing and staring at the diners, waiting to rush us out. It was not relaxing. I had the pasta with mushrooms and my husband had the swordfish- both good. When we made the reservation my husband mentioned it was our anniversary and there was no free dessert or acknowledgement. This place it special, but it isn't the romanitc, relaxing dining experience I wanted. I will go to Baker's Street or Joseph Decuis next year. read more

This place has good food and great cocktails but AWFUL service. For starters, they don't honor reservations. We made a reservation over a week ago, for a special occasion, only to get there and be told our table wasn't ready. They tried to put 5 of us in a 4-person booth, where there was no way we could eat comfortably, although that was clearly what they hoped we would do. We waited 40 minutes for the table we had reserved. Then, they were too inconsiderate to comp a round of drinks for our inconvenience. If your group is more than 4, pass on this place. read more

Had date night with hubby last Thursday night. Crab cake appetizer was amazing and full of fresh crab...no fillers in these. I had striped sea bass which was simple yet amazing and my husband had the rib eye which was also delicious. Had an amazing dinner here this past Saturday night. I have been to many, many restaurants and the service that We received, not just from our server but from everyone, was the best I have experienced ever. You can tell the management has created a culture where everyone looks out for the guests and want them to have a great time. I had the Sea Bass. It was perfect. The risotto was creamy and cooked perfectly. My husband had the ribeye and was very happy with his meal as well. For dessert we split the bread pudding which was great and I had a cappuccino, which was delicious. This is now our favorite fine dining spot in the Fort. read more
