A great, new brewery! Clean, fresh interior. 6 of their own brews on tap, plus about 10 beers from other breweries. Selections vary. Great service from our beer tender. Plenty of samples offered. They have Boar's Head packaged snacks for sale.

More than one sour ale option, food available, and a fun trivia night. And they accept the PubPass.

    Dirty Oar Beer Company

FUN FACT: Dirty Oar Beer Company is one of two breweries located in Historic Cocoa Village. Also,…read moreit is one of nine breweries located on the Space Coast (Brevard County). With quite a small selection spread out across a large county, all the breweries have the opportunity to be unique. But for Dirty Oar Beer Company (which I will shorthand to simply the Dirty Oar), they need to be different from their neighbors, Bugnutty Brewing Company. So did Dirty Oar accomplish the aforementioned "challenge?" Well yes and no depending on what it is you are looking for. Located on the north side of Historic Cocoa Village - which is the south side of King St./US-520, Dirty Oar is a large aquamarine blue building heralding a beautiful mural of birds and an octopus. There is a back entrance where their biergarten is located and a front entrance which i will consider their storefront. Parking is a bit tight, but may be accommodating enough as Dirty Oar is not as rambunctious as their neighbors, Bugnutty, are. My friends, Charles the Grey a.k.a. Roadie X and Patrick joined me today as we enjoyed brews and food in their taproom. The area is kind of small compared to other taprooms, but maybe it is because the biergarten is much bigger for overflow accomodation. There are games for people to play, in which my friends enjoyed a game that was kind of like either/or, and it was fun. Not very intelligent, but whatever. This is where things can be a hit or miss. Maybe it is me, but the flight of "milkshake" beers did not impress me at all. If I am going to drink anything "milkshake flavored", I expect to taste said milkshake flavors. They tasted okay for beers, and maybe that is being more lenient as it was not what I was hoping for. Not bad, but definitely not a "milkshake." Food was delicious, but it comes from a food truck parked next to the biergarten. The grilled cheese was good and packed flavor into something simple, but the Frito pie: exquisite. To be fair, anyone that messes up a Frito pie doesn't deserve to cook anything. Overall, Dirty Oar was a-okay for an initial visit. Will I be back here? Of course, especially if I want a more personal time with friends, family, or a date. But will I go out of my way to go here compared to other breweries, probably not. Still, an a-okay establishment that I suggest visiting at least once. On a sidenote, Dirty Oar is one of the breweries that makes up the Launches & Lagers II Tour in Brevard. It is also a location in the Untappd App.

My wife & I were the only patrons there on a late Sunday afternoon and had a great conversation with Raimy as well as her providing us some sample of Dirty Oar's beers. **INITIAL REVIEW**…read more Apparently, the Yelp Skynet a.k.a. the AI that green or red flags reviews, doesn't like the actual name of this pub despite the fact it is the pub's name. Ergo, I will use the abbreviation VI for the remainder of this review. Besides that, you really can't go wrong going to any of the pubs in Historic Cocoa Village. VI is one of the pubs on the eastern side of the Village, in between the famous Fat Donkey's Ice Cream and the furthest east pub in the village, Ryan's. Appearance-wise, the outside fits primarily with the building, but there are some minute details that give it its own personality, primarily around its name. There is also a section of the road and sidewalk that have been garrisoned for VI as outdoor seating and games such as bean bag toss. Indoors, it is definitely your kinda pub that many of the patrons are friends. The right side (East) have long tables with many pub and drinking games such as Hook & Ring and Shut The Box. There is a bookshelf filled to the brim with board games in case patrons prefer traditional or childhood classics. The left side (West) is the "Patio," a room that is decorated by numerous plants, neon lighting, widker and a black-and-white checkerboard floor. Finally, the middle of the pub is the actual bar, in the form of an L-shape serving a nice arrangement of beers from many breweries, cideries, distilleries, and meaderies across the United States. I had the Kentucky Vanilla Barrel Cream Ale by Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co. Other beer selections I would recommend include the Pineapple Cider by the famous Carib Brewing Co. and the Mango Cart by Golden Road Brewing. Personal note on the latter: Mango Carts, well for me, only taste good when straight from the tap. Cans are not good. And the food, it is minimal, but boy does VI know how to tug at my heartstrings as everything they have features, or could feature, cheese. They have pretzels with cheese, pickles with cheese, and my personal favorite, grilled cheese sandwiches. And for the more sophisticated patron, they have numerous choices in charcuterie boards, too. I will also state the drink prices are a bit on the high side compared to some other places I been to. And there are two restrooms that are single-serving and gender-specific. I don't believe the latter has to be gender-specific because they are single-serving. The barn doors are an interesting choice because they are not very good at blocking sound. I guess that is why VI blasts the music so nobody can hear the flatulence. Speaking of music, VI does have a small corner stage for small acts, possibly singular, to perform. Unless there is a pull-out large stage for outdoor performances, I don't see big bands, per se in higher number of members, performing here unless they can all jam in that tight-spaced stage. Ultimately, I am going to give VI three-out-of-five stars for this review. They are a solid pub that has all the fixin's of a good bar to go to. Maybe it is safe to say they really don't stand out too much, especially amongst the more unique bars in Historic Cocoa Village. But still, a good place to have a drink with friends with that "Everybody knows your name" kinda vibe.

We had a good visit to BeachFly Brewery in late, March, 2025…read more We enjoyed some good bar snacks, including: (1) Beer Cheese Nachos ($9), which featured tortilla chips with beer cheese. We added BeachFly's slow-cooked pork for $4 more. (2) Chicken Quesadilla ($8), which had island chicken and pepper jack cheese between two soft tortillas, served with salsa. (3) Key Lime Pie ($6). A slice of classic Florida dessert: sweet, yet slightly tart house-made pie on a graham cracker crust topped with whipped cream. My husband was thrilled to find a good dark beer, Coffee Brown Ale, a rich brown ale brewed with Villon coffee. He also bought a 4-pack of beer cans to go. Mix & match. Thursday nights are Trivia Nights at the Beachfly Brewery. This attracted quite a few local families. Parking is free and plentiful. For any RVers out there, this brewery participates in the Harvest Hist program, with reservation through the HH website.

It is also the only brewery located in Rockledge, in the part of the city which is close to a "Downtown" or "Historic Downtown" (Barton Blvd.). Being a rare "only option" within its city limits, Beachfly stands out not from its uniquely artistically painted building, but the fact it is the only stand-alone business that is synonymous with Rockledge outside of any official government buildings. Thankfully, Beachfly does a great job at brewing and camraderie that comes with it, too. Beachfly is located on the southside of Barton Blvd., probably closer to the end at US-1. You'll know you're at the right buildig as it is a huge aquamarine building with a lot of beach vibes artwork on it. Fits the criteria of its name, right? From what I saw, parking is ample enough but the overflow is all gravel. Take that into account if you don't want your vehicle sitting on stones. Inside, the beach vibes continue as all the decor accompanies such with wood that looks like they came off of pirate ships and walls aligned with portholes ad seaside memorabilia. Upon entering, there seems to be what I think is a private room for parties on the right and a small room serving as the store on the left. The southwest corner serves as a bar while the rest of the taproom serves customers at a hodgepodge array of tables. Now to the good stuff: the brews. I had a lot of their fruited beers, one that was spiced, too. Can't remember the names but they were a-okay. Probably not my first choice, but I could drink it. Their root beer was delicious, though. Their food: delicious but I didn't try it all. I defiitely need to give their grilled cheese and Cuban a go so I can compare and contrast with other restaurants. Finally, a lot of stuff to do with friends and family or by yourself. There is trivia, live performances, and even games for everyone to enjoy. Overall, Beachfly is very good, but they come off as equals to the two breweries in Historic Cocoa Village that isn't far from them, either. Would I go here again? Yes. Will I go out of my way to go here? Probably not. But if I am in the neighborhood, I definitely will make a stop by.

The 321 Lime House (which I will shorthand to 321 for the remainder of the review) is the taproom dedicated to one of the more popular ciders sold anywhere, more so that it is actually offered almost everywhere in Florida, Caribe. Even though 321 is located inside Carib Brewery, it is still recognized as its own independent establishment instead of a taproom piggy-backing off the Carib name (though it really doesn't matter). As a taproom, it does an excellent job showcasing what Carib has to offer. However, compared to other breweries/distilleries and their taprooms, 321 is lacking when it comes to selection as they seem only interested in featuring only their alcoholic line. First and foremost, getting to 321 might be a bit confusing. For starters, it is located off the main road and more so in the "industry district" of Cape Canaveral. To top it off, 321 is located within the gated area of Carib Brewery. You might think you can't enter because it seems like Carib Brewery looks like a factory on the outside, but the East gate is usually open and there is a part of the brewery that stands out as more... well... taproom-ish? Bar-ish? I guess those are the right words. To be fair, the outdoor seating, which doesn't look much like a biergarten to me, is what helps identify where 321 is. Upon entering, there is a large area with a nook reserved as a store on the left, a centralized bar in the middle, a stage for live shows and performances on the right, and more seating scattered about the floor. You can actually see the assembly/work line of Carib Brewery from the 321 taproom floor as they do not block it off, but show patrons what is going on behind-the-scenes through Plexiglas. With this much space, it is evident 321 is designed to have some amazing parties, events, and get-togethers. There might even be a wider array of food and drink options at that time, but on a regular day, this is where the "OK" rating comes in. As mentioned earlier, it seems 321 only features their line of brews to serve. Though they have a nice selection, it does limit their choices. You'll only get their line of brews so that means choices in Carib (pineapple cider, mimosa), Stag, Makeson, and Shandy. For food, very limited from what I saw. It only looks like they have bags of chips and popcorn. I guess they do not have a dedicated kitchen to make the meals and bar foods the other breweries make. It is possible they might have food trucks out in front on certain days and times (like The Dirty Oar for example), but there was none the day I went with Charles, and I didn't ask. Overall, it was a good visit. I say it is "OK" because it seems to be on the lines of other "OK" taprooms such as The Dirty Oar and Bugnutty Brewing Company. Not saying it is bad, just saying it is average and that is a norm. However, if I return numerous times and they are consistent, I will definitely give them their fourth star for consistency at least.
