If you want it done RIGHT... Call HIBERNATION first! Three years ago I purchased a top of the line Lopi Greenfield GSR2 propane stove from Foothill Fireplace Pools and Spa. I spent a hefty $6,007.00 by the time it was installed in my living room. It never worked properly and for three years, I've been begging and pleading and fighting with Foothill Fireplace Pools and Spas to get it right. Foothill kept telling me it was my fault that our Lopi stove wasn't operating properly until they finally told me they didn't want to "deal " with me anymore. I paid Foothill good money several times over THREE YEARS to come up repeatedly to relight my stove and I was told for three years that the problem was caused by " user error ". I made very clear that no one was changing any settings and that I was waking up to or coming home to a cold house every other day. I was at my wits end until I finally went over Foothill's head, calling the manufacturer of Lopi stoves, Travis Industries. The Lopi regional representative, Edward, who handles Lopi for Foothill Fireplace Pools and Spas listened to me and sent me new parts for my Lopi, qualifying those parts as warranty replacement parts. Unfortunately, Edward sent them to Foothill Fireplace Pools and Spas. Foothill refused to do the work, and withheld the parts for 11 days before shipping them to me at my house, still refusing to come install them. The regional representative, Edward gave me the number for HIBERNATION Stoves and Spas, located at 2182 CA-4 Suite E540, Arnold, CA 95223! I called and spoke with Austin Deaver. Austin immediately put me at ease. He told me he would be happy to come look at our stove and he assured me he would fix it properly. And he did just that! He listened to me. I explained the stoves behavior to him, like I had explained it over and again to Foothill . He tested the stoves brain ( IFC) and it tested bad. He validated my claim. HIBERNATION made it right when Foothill could not. Period! HIBERNATION is my GO TO. I will always call HIBERNATION for my Lopi stove. We bought our Hearthstone stove here in 2012. Service was great until the Little Tree folks took over. We waited 75 days after paying a $474 deposit for glass. We tried several times on line and in person to find out when we were going to be serviced. With time running out on disputing the $474 charge with my credit card company, I asked for a refund of my deposit. Got it. No explanation, no communication. The lack of service was so disappointing. Brrr! It gets really cold in the mountains especially at night. There is nothing better than sitting in front of nice warm fire, sipping some hot cocoa (with marshmallows of course!) and reading a good book. Many Arnold residents have wood burning stoves from Hibernation. They are a necessity when the power goes out. Fortunately my family also had a Franklin stove from Hibernation. That baby got us through some pretty cold winters. I remember one particularly bad snow storm. We were without power for three days. We were able to use the Franklin to heat up soup, boil water, and even roast some ooey gooey marshmallows. Yummy! Hibernation Stove & Spas offers a wide variety of wood burning stoves and also a nice selection of spas. Prices are reasonable too. Put another log on the fire! ;) read more

Had a stove insert purchased and installed. Was installed incorrectly, sure it doesn't smoke the house up, but paid over $5000 for them and over $500 for the installation. Heat goes up the chimney because they didn't install the flu correctly and the insert is too far back in the fireplace. Been meaning to fix it for years, but finally got around to calling and asking them to come back and help service the insert so that it works correctly. Initially said they would come and assist. Never heard back, then called again and Steve's wife said this is our money season and we cannot come and assist. They are into the business more for the money than the service or reputation. You can get the same equipment for less than full retail at other places or delivered to your place directly and have others do the install. Even though I took a few years to finally call them around and get it working correctly, they should stand by their customers and provide the service needed when they messed up to begin with. Without coming back and even looking his wife said it was installed correctly over the phone. Well I purchased and installed the exact same unit at my other property and know a thing or two about this very same insert and the installation. The flu reverses so that the stove insert sits farther out of the fireplace and the blower will deliver the heat. This wasn't the case on this install and it is obvious the correct way to install. Absolutely installed incorrectly. I was willing to pay for the service since it has been a few years and it probably would have taken only a hour with my assistance and some typical supplies they would have on their truck like stovepipe duct tape and maybe 2-3 stainless screws. They won't stand by their sales. Charge full retail when you can order online or through Sonora for less. Will commit to help on their error and then fail to deliver. Consider others. read more

Hibernation did a good job cleaning our pellet stove. However, their pricing is outrageous. One guy spent about one hour at our house and charged $300 for a simple cleaning. I have other vendors who, for the same price offer three workers, working 2 hours each, doing much more difficult and dangerous work. I recommend you find a different supplier. read more

Wow, Steve is the best. We just bought a new stove and had trouble understanding how to keep the glass clean. Part of the reason we bought a new stove was so we could see the darn flames as our other stove was 30 years old! I asked him to come out and take a look. He did and reeducated us and hand cleaned our glass for us. Aparrently we were damping down to much. It was really baked on for a brand new stove used one week. We saw Steve remove the door to take it outside to clean it. When Steve place the door back on I asked my husband to try and remove it in front of Steve and he accidentally broke the glass! OMG! We felt so terrible!!!!!!!!! Steve went out to his car and brought us a brand new door. I realize he lost money on us but he really did make us customers for life. I was able to find a person who worked on wood stoves to come to my home and repair my unit for $70.
