Vegetable hibachi (we added chicken) - with yum yum and ginger sauces
Steve V.

We carried out tonight from Hibachi Expresss on East 82nd Street. If you like hibachi, you must try this restaurant. While it's fun to sit at a hibachi table and watch the chef prepare your meal, you're also paying for the show. Here, you can get any protein (chicken, beef, shrimp) along with veggies and fried rice for half the price. The portions are huge - my wife and I split one order tonight, and still had some left over for tomorrow. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed.

I visited during a snow storm when this was the only restaurant opened. The food was hot and made to order, could've been a bit more flavorful. We were told no dine in and shortly after going to our car to eat a man was allowed to dine in. All in all it was an average experience.

I tried this place bc I was starving and I figured it would be decent, can't go wrong with hibachi right? Well I was wrong I ordered the shrimp fried rice and the portion was HUGE which I thought was SWEET! Until I opened the box. There was 8 shrimp on top of the rice with a splash of sautéed onions mixed in. I was shocked and pissed to say the least. Had I known this is what I was going to end up with I would've saved my $10.

I just recently learned about this restaurant. It doesn't have grill like other hibachi restaurants have, but the food is delicious. I got steak, chicken, and shrimp, the only thing I don't like is you have order veggies separate coat $1.00 for each option. I got order of crab Rangoon (they were ok). The staff is friendly, lots of parking, and following CDC guidelines. Also the yuumyum sauce is ok, I've had better!

Hibachi chicken with cabbage, and added mushrooms and zucchini. Huge portion!

Yum . This place has GIANT portions at affordable prices. I ordered the hibachi chicken ($7.99) which came with really good cabbage, veggies, fried rice and 2 sauces. I also added mushrooms and zucchini for an extra $1 ea. You will definitely have leftovers. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is bright and clean. Everything is made to order, so hot and fresh. I had trouble using their online ordering system, I'm sure that will be fixed soon. While Sapporos remains my favorite hibachi in Indy (and are twice the price as Hibachi Express), this will remain on my list of "go-tos" for quick, affordable, carryout hibachi. Give this place a try!

The food here is actually pretty good, but the location seems a little weird. It really feels lime a mall food court place that was transported to a seedy strip mall.

Not good. It may look decent but not even worth it.

If I could give zero stars I would. The food taste like a basic cook made this in their kitchen. Just awful. I don't see what anyone would see in this place- especially if you have ate at a reach hibachi express. I tossed my food in the garbage. The rice wasn't even good. The shrimp are super small and they only give you 7. The onions and zucchini isn't even included. They give you some bland cabbage. This is so not near authentic. People just eat anything if they like this place.

Decided to stop here since I was craving some hibachi on my lunch break I definitely was satisfied the food portions were great & very affordable! Will be returning

Not only is the food so tasty and incredibly affordable, but the staff are absolutely lovely! Today, while waiting for my food, I witnessed the cashier take a photo for a family that was dining in. She saw that they had young children, so she went in the back and got metal spoons for them to use while they were dining. That kind of service... it makes the food taste even better to me!

Let me start this review off with Benihana's be ready for some competition. For the price and especially the big portions it is simply amazing . Me and my husband use to enjoys Benihana's but I think we like hibachi express better . The portions are huge and it is filled with tons of meat . I got the chicken steak and shrimp hibachi with a side of broccoli , it literally took me three days to eat it . The homemade yum yum side is too die for . We got a big side sauce so we can enjoy it at home also . My husband got the special fried rice filled with chicken steak and shrimp . He loved it he loves fried rice and he said it was one of the best fried rice with meat and vegetables that he has ever had , they only complaint he had was that he could have ordered more vegetables in his rice like a broccoli or more mushrooms . We will defiantly be back it was defiantly worth the money , I will be a hibachi express fan and loyal customer for a LONG TIME

Long Thanh Chinese and Vietnamese Food - Pho ga

Pho is my medicine when I'm getting over a cold. I learned this trick many years ago when I lived…read morein Orange County, an area of Southern California with some of the best pho outside of Vietnam. One time, I was at a Vietnamese restaurant and saw a man sitting by himself, his face over a steaming bowl of pho, with a pile of tissues next to him. He'd alternate slurping up noodles and broth with blowing his nose. It was gross but also kind of brilliant and also somehow still delicious-looking. Homeboy was on a mission to clear his nasal passages, I tell you what. So, the next time I had a cold, I tried my man's technique. And you know what? Yes, pho is a medical miracle. If you're on the end stages of a cold, where you feel 90% better but you still have some nagging junk hanging on, get a bowl of pho. And bring some tissues with you. Short story long: The pho at Long Thanh is probably the best pho I've eaten in Indianapolis. Not only was my pho ga delicious and simple, like a great bowl of chicken pho should be. But I visited with the end stages of a cold, and once I put my face over the bowl and started slurping, I could feel the pho working its magic. My visit was also a reconnaissance mission, of sorts: I know there are a lot of places to get pho around Indy, but where would one go to get an amazing bowl of pho? I didn't have that one place to point someone to, or take someone to, until today. Long Thanh is it! Now, this is not the most aesthetically pleasing restaurant that I've ever visited. In fact, I would probably qualify this place as a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. It's located in a dusty strip mall. The building looks like it was built in the 1960s and hasn't been updated since the 1990s. But I'm willing to overlook the spider webs in the windows, the ramshackle carpet and the upside-down Lowe's bucket serving as a plant holder. Why? Because the pho at Long Thanh is the kind of pho you want to be sticking your sick freakin' face over. So, the pho ga is my standard pho order, because how can you go wrong with chicken soup? The pho comes with a platter of herbs -- Thai basil, regular basil and cilantro -- and bean sprouts to sprinkle into your bowl, according to your preference. There are also some lime wedges to squeeze, and jalapeno slices to add for a little heat. If you need more heat, there's Sriracha and other sauces at the table. I add Sriracha as I eat, because I like to build up the heat as I go. Basically, my bowl of pho was exactly what I wanted: a hot and flavorful bowl of broth and perfectly cooked noodles and chicken, with the ability to add handfuls of fresh herbs and sprouts for a nice fresh, crunchy texture. One other reason to visit Long Thanh: the owner of this restaurant. This guy is also the host, the server, the cook, and the person who clears the tables. He is a bright and shining beacon of light in an otherwise dusty strip mall in central Indiana. He was super enthusiastic about every single thing. You can tell that he loves what he does, and it shows in the food he serves.

The staff was super friendly as well and service was great. I love that they have lots of small plates so you can try a little of everything. We ordered: Batagor (chicken and shrimp dumplings) Bala - Bala (vegetable fritters) Satay appetizer (chicken with peanut sauce) Crab Rangoon Martabak Telor (beef omelette) Bakmi Jawa (noodle stir fry with shrimp) Beef Rendang (simmered beef and sides) Iced Palm sugar latte Lychee Iced Tea And a side of noodles for our 2 year The sauces that came with these dishes were also great. You can even shop from their small store to bring Indonesian groceries home. We went on a Saturday night and it was pretty full. We found a spot in the small parking lot, but they have signs that there is additional parking by the church if you go and need to find a spot. Since we clearly over ordered we had a lot to take home and it was great as leftovers the next day still. Can't wait to go back!

I don't have a benchmark, since this is my single Indonesian food experience. I ordered the bala-bala and beef rendang. The bala-bala were packed with recognizable veggies and had a light crispy texture. Not greasy or oily at all. My main course came with rice, a jackfruit curry and kale. A green chili sauce, more like a relish is served on the side. It is very spicy. The beef was well spiced, fork tender and just dreamy. I was also surprised by the jackfruit curry-something I've never had but liked with the spiciness of the beef-I did use a lot of the green chili sauce. The place is small and very casual and serves coffee drinks but doesn't have a liquor license. You can carry in from the pub next door, though. The parking lot is very small but I think you can park in the adjoining lot by the pub. I went at an odd time and was the only customer other than a couple of drunk women trying to get coffee. There's also a small shop where you can buy Indonesian spices, mixes and coffee. I regret not buying the rendang mix! I'm definitely going back to try some of the other dishes, ideally with friends to share appetizers-I want that lumpia-and I'll be sure to grab a package of rendang spice on my way out.

I found them…read moreto be friendly and welcoming, however, I'll also be honest and say when I get into this strip center I'm usually headed toward the adjacent George's Neighborhood Grill. Today, Christmas Day, the plan was entirely different. I was hoping Asian Bistro would be open given the limited options and decided to check here first. Gratefully, they were open. This is a relatively small, well-decorated strip-center restaurant located at 71st and Binford. There's a double entryway. As you enter, there's rows of half-booths on both sides along with a center aisle primarily made up of two-seat tables. If you're picking up food, you head toward the back. Asian Bistro serves up, you guessed it, Asian options including Japanese, sushi, sashimi, and some Thai options. They carry Coke products for drinks along with Gold Peak Iced Tea. I opted for sweet-and-sour chicken along with fried rice and my usual unsweetened iced tea. The wait wasn't too long. The serving size was surprisingly plentiful. Service was strong. This family operation had around four folks in-house. I got a wonderfully warm vibe here. I got the sense you could really become a "regular." Some folks were just starting to arrive as I left - you could tell they were familiar and they were treated like they were familiar. It was delightful to see, especially on a day of the year when some folks really need that connection. I was tended to regularly. I got my always desired drink refill and was honestly a bit surprised to get an offer of one to go. It was a nice touch. The food was good, though the chicken was maybe a bit crispier in spots than I'd prefer. However, I'd easily order it again. The menu wasn't quite as expansive as some, however, I definitely loved what I ordered. I wasn't expecting it to feel so warm and welcoming inside. the dark wood half-booths are warm. There was light Christmas music playing and an ambiance that really worked. It's not luxurious, but it was much nicer than I expected. Good food. Great hospitality. A welcoming atmosphere. It was a great Christmas lunch and I'd definitely return in the future.
