I got to Hidalgo right when they were supposed to open at 8am but no one showed up until about 8:15. I took a test drive with the technician so he could hear the sound my vehicle was making. While we were driving and after he heard it, he said, "Oh man! I sure hope it isn't the differential!" I have a Toyota Tacoma. I bought it because these vehicles do NOT have problems with the differentials. So, I heard him, but I didn't think anything of it. So, he said he'd take a look at the truck and call me when he diagnosed the problem. I went to sit at Burger King while I waited for the call. And waited. And waited. After 2 1/2 hours and no phonecall, I went back to the mechanic. The technician saw me and said, "oh, I need to confer with my father." So, he called his father and discussed the problem with him (note: his father was not there. He did not look at my truck, he did not hear the sound.) The technician comes back and tells me that the problem is the rear differential and that a new one is $1200+ and he could maybe get a used one for $350-$400. He makes some calls and can get a used one for $750 plus labor for a grand total of almost $1300. I do not just throw my money around. Also, I have a hard time believing that my vehicle (which doesn't even have 100k miles on it) has this problem. I took the estimate, came home, and called a friend who is a mechanic. He said "it sounds like it's maybe one of the bearings, perhaps a wheel bearing or the axel bearing. Did he check the bearings?" I called Hidalgo Toyota and asked the technician if he checked the bearings. He said yes, it's definitely the differential. I decided to go elsewhere for another opinion (please see the review for Lito's Repair Shop in Oxnard (yes, it's far from me) http://www.yelp.com/biz/litos-repair-shop-oxnard The problem was not the differential. The problem was THE CENTER BEARING. Anyone who looked under my truck could tell that it was the center bearing. The mechanic at Lito's lifted my truck and showed me and I saw it with my own eyes. He also asked me if the technician at Hidalgo even lifted the truck because anyone could see it. I told him I didn't know if he actually lifted the truck. I hate to think that I was being taken advantage of at Hidalgo because I'm a single woman and because people think I'm young. But I asked him SPECIFICALLY if he checked the bearings and he said yes. Anyone who even got on a dolly and slid under my truck could have seen the metal stripped away and could tell that it was the center bearing. I will not be going back here.

My wife and I use to take our Mercedes GLK and Mazda CX-5 to the dealerships for service because we did not know any better. But Will is one independent mechanic I can trust. Will has the expertise and skill to diagnose and repair our 13-year old vehicles. Older vehicle requires more attention and expertise to repair and Will is the right mechanic to handle the job. We had a trip in July to Mammoth Lakes and I had asked Will to thoroughly check out the Mazda prior to the trip. I had performance issues with the Mazda and Will was able to assess that the alternator was bad, the spark plugs were worn and the rear brakes were just about gone. I just got back from the trip and I must say the vehicle accelerated up the mountain peaks so well that I began to wonder what in the world was the dealership service doing to my vehicle all those years? Recommendation: Don't keep calling Will about when your car will be ready or keep calling him to ask how much this or that will cost. Will is very busy working on cars. He will call you when your car is completely ready and he will itemize the repairs and explain all costs in detail. Will will save you money because he gets to the root of the problem and his labor rate is considerable cheaper than any dealership. You will have peace of mind that your car will drive reliably and perform if you let Will repair your car.

It's on Rosemead blvd so it's not the easiest lot to get into during rush hour. I called around 3pm and spoke to Don who said come on by. Don was able to take a look at my car and diagnose the problems within 15 minutes. I was not charged a diagnostic fee. I needed to get my valve cover and gasket replaced and an intake system cleaning. The price quoted was well below the price I had in my head so I left the car there on Thursday 430pm. And they said it will be ready by next day 3pm. Don and the whole team were extremely professional and made me feel like I was getting taken care of! I received a call around 12 and they told me they needed to also replace a cracked hose and that I would only charged for the part and no additional labor. I am extremely happy with Bavaria Auto Group and will definitely use them next time I need a service!

I am a car dealer, and one of our customers brought a vehicle here for a pre-purchase inspection…read moretoday. The customer scheduled an appointment for 10:00 AM. I clearly informed them we could arrive at least 10:30, and the customer confirmed that was fine. However, when I arrived at 10:40, Mike told us that because we were "late," the inspection could not be done until the afternoon and would be finished sometime before 5 PM. I asked if a written inspection report would be provided, and Mike said it would require customer approval. I told him I would have the customer confirm this directly. Later in the day, I called to check on the status. Mike's wife answered and said he had stepped out for a test drive and would be back in about 15 minutes. She mentioned the vehicle had already been lifted and checked underneath, but she was unsure whether any further inspection would be performed. I asked if Mike could call me back to clarify. I never received a call. About an hour later, the customer called me and said the inspection was "done." According to the customer, Mike verbally mentioned two issues that I had already fully disclosed to the customer the day before. However, Mike also stated that the undercarriage rust was "very bad," using the word "worse," and went as far as telling the customer not to buy the vehicle. When I went to pick up the car, Mike was again not present. His wife told me he had stepped out once more. There was no written inspection report, and the customer also confirmed that no report was given to him either. When I asked about the report, Mike's wife said she did not know what inspection the customer had requested and therefore could not provide anything. This vehicle is a 2015 Lexus that previously spent time on the East Coast. Some surface rust is normal for a vehicle of this age and history. I personally inspected the undercarriage afterward, and the condition is well within normal range. It is absolutely not as severe as described using words like "worse," and certainly not a reason to advise a customer to walk away without documentation. In my opinion, the inspection lacked professionalism, transparency, and proper documentation. Exaggerated verbal statements without a written report are not acceptable, especially when influencing a customer's purchasing decision. I would not recommend this shop for pre-purchase inspections, particularly for dealers or serious buyers who expect clear communication and written reports.

Brought my 2022 Mazda 3 in for a brake inspection due to a humming noise when lightly braking. Paid…read more$120 for the inspection. The technician's written assessment: "Brakes are 50% life." When I asked for specific measurements, he said all four pads are at 6mm. By industry standards, 6mm pads have 1.5-2 years of life remaining and do not need replacement. Despite this, the verbal recommendation was to replace all 4 pads and 2 rotors for $440. When I asked how long I could continue driving, the answer was vague: "1 to 5 months depending on driving style." The claim that "all four pads are at 6mm" doesn't make physical sense. Front brakes carry 60-70% of braking force and typically wear about twice as fast as rear brakes. On a 2022 Mazda 3 with 51,000 miles, front pads should be noticeably thinner than rear pads, about a 2-3mm difference is normal. "All around 6mm" would require front and rear to wear at the exact same rate, which contradicts basic vehicle physics. This makes me suspect the inspection wasn't actually performed with proper measurements. There's no indication the wheels were removed, and the technician offered the same number for all four positions when asked.
