Very thorough inspection but charged me $300 for it. Quote for treatment was more than twice what another company quoted. I don't usually go for the cheapest, but when the difference is $1800, I can't pay that much more. Update: The owner of the company contacted me (I have the email) and offered to refund me $250 if I removed my negative review. I'm not doing it. Think before you use these folks. I had Hi-Tech Termite Control come out and do a thorough inspection of my house. They found no visible signs of termites but lots of silverfish spilling in the attic (but termites can still be hidden in walls though). This contradicts an inspection by another large company and Terminix didn't even bother doing a proper inspection - they just focused on hardcore selling of tenting my house which I strongly want to avoid having small children, pets and trees/plants around my house. What Hi-Tech Termite Control did find was termites in an old lemon tree in front of my house and they recommended me to remove it. They didn't try to sell me anything, but instead gave me their phone number and email address and told me to contact them as soon as I find what I think is a termite - they told me to take a good picture and collect the termite in a ziplock back and they will come out again. They also told me that at this point there are alternative options instead of tenting. If major infestation, then tenting is a must, but with regular inspections, we can catch it early and try alternatives (they have several tools in their toolbox - including microwave technology). Finally, I have to add that the inspector had a good knowledge of chicken behavior and when discussing poisons to kill termites in roots/trees he advised against it in my case (although that's a service they offer) since we have free range hens and that they enjoy taking dustbaths in the oddest places (very true!). We had been using another pest control company for our regular pest maintenance and they provide an annual termite inspection. This time around they found termites and when I asked for a quote they threw out a pretty sizable number. I'd heard Hi-Tech's "ad" on NPR and gave them a call hoping I could avoid tenting and use one of their alternate treatments. David came out and did an inspection and explained what I already knew deep down...the house had to be tented. David was awesome to work with and had a quote to me by day's end and it was just about half of what our regular provider had quoted AND it included a pretreatment of all of the exposed wood under our house to act as a deterrent for future infestations. Amos came out and did the pretreatment while David went over all of the requirements for prepping the house. They were able to get us on the schedule pretty quick, which allowed us to have it done during a weekend we were already planning on being gone. Follow up afterwards and throughout the whole process from David and the rest of the office staff was great. I feel better having the 3 year warranty as well...which you can extend year by year by the way. read more

Very professional & great termite crew! My termites were blasted in May & during remodeling this week the crew found old damage in the walls...we have a 3 year warranty with Hi-Tech. They came right over & checked it out so construction was not held up on our kitchen! I recommend this company highly to anyone with a termite problem...they explain the process & how the non-toxic (to humans & pets) chemical spreads like a 'virus' through the termite colony. Colonies can be very deep underground! We had subterranean termites under the kitchen (between the house & room addition with no crawl space underneath) that could not be diagnosed before...only after we had an interior wall opened up! I was impressed with this company. We called and scheduled an appointment to have someone look at what we believed to be termites. We were crossing our fingers praying that it wouldn't be a termite situation that required tenting our house. When checking out the company we saw that they were able to spray stuff that wouldn't affect our animals and and the health of our family. We scheduled an appointment and the gentleman showed up right on time. He came in and assessed the inside and outside of our house. It was later determined that we had subterranean termites. They move through the dirt and come up into the house. We did not need to have our house tented. We scheduled the process for a week later and they came and completed the job from around 8-3pm. The spraying warranty is for 3 years. I liked the company because they gave us a good quote and didn't try to say more things needed to be done with the house than it needed. We did a lot of initial research and determined the top 4 companies, and from there, the clear choice was Hi-Tech Termite Control. Jeff did a thorough onsite inspection then walked us through the various treatment options that best met our needs. Jeff coordinated directly with our stucco contractor, so we didn't have to figure out the logistics of structure removal / treatment / replacement, etc. The crew showed up on time, completed their work the same day and cleaned up thoroughly. I had David Biacsi do an escrow termite inspection on my house and I have never had anyone who has inspected any of my homes be as helpful and informative as David. I have owned two homes in the past 7 years and have had Terminix service both my homes and they have never come close to being as professional as David. Not only that, but the quality of work is not comparable, Terminix is a joke, and they suck people in and take their money for doing nothing. I first heard about this company while listening to NPR. I had already had a different company come out to do a bid on the work, and Hi-Tech was able to provide a lower bid than the other company. I was interested in this company because they provide a service that does not require tenting the house, and with owning dogs and having a roommate, I didn't want to put us all out of a place to stay for the three days and deal with paying for a motel. I had Hi-Tech Termite Control come out to perform their service last week, and all is looking really great! I have a 3 year warranty with this company as well, whereas the other company only offered a 2 year warranty. It's worth mentioning that Steve Barton performed the initial inspection and he was on time, and had great customer service skills. Hi-Tech was the second termite company to give an estimate for our home. The first one only wanted to tent the house & wouldn't provide alternatives. We were looking for alternatives to the toxic gas & inconvenience of whole house tenting as our termite issue did not appear to be completely invasive & this wasn't a sale situation. David B. came out for the inspection & spent a couple of hours with us inspecting the house & discussing options. We appreciated his candor & the choice of solutions that HI-Tech provided. We opted to go with localized treatment (drill & inject), a Bora-Care spray over the exposed wood in the attic & Altriset. This also included a 3 year warranty & option to extend that in the future. The techs, Cory & Amos, were prompt, professional & courteous. They spent about 6 hours at our home & did what I felt was a thorough job. There were no smells at all and we along with our pets were able to stay at home the entire time. The cost was reasonable & better than tenting. Excellent service! Arrived on schedule for both the inspection and later for the treatment. David B. did a very thorough inspection and gave treatment recommendations that did not involve tenting. His explanation of what should be done was easy to understand. The following week, the tech Frank, spent over 5 hours performing a very thorough treatment, including spraying all the exposed wood in our attic space, drilling and injecting chemicals into infected wood and treating the perimeter of our home to ward off subterranean termites. With the treatment came a three-year warranty! The tech used drop cloths and protectors over his shoes to ensure cleanliness of our home when accessing the attic and using the spray equipment. There was no odor during and after the spray and we were assured that the chemicals used were perfectly safe for ourselves and our pets. Hi-Tech is not cheap but they do excellent work! read more

It's been 12 year's since we tented our home. Called this company based on its alternatives to tenting approach. David, the inspector, came to our home and thoroughly went over everything with us and told us that our home really did not have an active termite problem. This is what we suspected but another company came out a few months ago and was vague and tried to sell us a combination of tenting and local treatments. This didn't seem right for a number of reasons. So when Hi-Tech came out and confirmed what we suspected we were very pleased.
