This store does not have a return policy. All sales are final. I was troubleshooting my desktop PC and I determined that it was most likely the power supply. I went to Hi-Tech Seven Plus to purchase a power supply so I could test to see if that was the issue. I asked what their return policy was in the event that the PS was not the issue. They advised they could not afford to accept any returns. I did not purchase the product here as if it was something else I would have been stuck with an extra power supply. A standard return policy is a sign of a good business. If they cannot afford to accept returns then they cannot afford to lose customers to other competitors which do accept returns. I would recommend the store at least accept returns with a re-stocking fee like most other major competitors do in Toronto. read more

I took my laptop in for an issue with my screen. Being pretty tech savvy, I knew that all was needed was for the screen to be replaced. After 6 days the man finally called me and told me that I had multiple issues (not true) including the fact that I needed to re-install Windows (lol). I let him know that I didn't enter his store to get gouged and asked him to replace the screen. He agreed, at a fee of 200$. That including the 35$ original diagnostic (that I knew wasn't even needed). A fair price overall, however. After another week and a bit, the gentleman called back and told me that the screen he installed was too small and he could not find the right part from his distributors. Considering that, u would have to pick up my computer, in the same state as before. Suddenly the 35$ diagnostic became 50$, for untold reasons. I strongly disagreed, and he luckily recanted. When I took it to another repair shop 1 block North (Unistar-- highly recommend. They literally replaced the part and fixed the issue in ONE hour), they advised me that the original screen had been taken out and replaced with the one that did not fit. Oh, and Hi Tec Seven Plus had accidently (I hope) snipped the wire that connects the screen component. Basically, I could not possibly recommend this place any less. I cannot stress this enough. I had bought printer ink from this store, i went back with my toner Cartridge to get a quote on a bulk order, i was unable to return to his store due to a family illness, when i returned 8 days later, he did not have any quote available and my Toner cartridge was missing. He stated i took to long to return therefore he had no quote and no Cartridge. When i left my cartridge and quote quote at the store i also left my business card with my contact info., yet he never was professional enough to call me. When i stated that i would return to pick up m y Cartridge he raised his voice to me in front of another customer. I have also reported his actions to the Better Business Bureau. if this store order intends to operate a business in Toronto, he better step up and become a lot more professional. read more

Cash-grab with zero value, stay away! Had a Purolator package diverted to this address because they couldn't deliver to my building nearby. Picking it up was the first of a busy evening of errands. When I arrived the conversation started politely enough, but quickly changed sour. I was told by Narul, the owner, that for his bookeeping he required proof of residence at my address (since I had the package diverted). This is fine, Purolator policy, would have been nice to know, but ok. Since this is a computer store, I asked if I could quickly access my email so i could show him an internet bill as proof. He said this was fine "But it will cost you a dollar fifteen." Incredible. A heated debate about business practices and nickle and diming unaware customers ensued. Nurul, the owner, insisted that this was a sound business practice, and that it was the way to make money. He told me he "wasn't running a charity service". He wanted to charge me for the use of a dirty comptuer with a CRT monitor sitting in the corner, for about a minute and thirty seconds. I went all the way home to get the bill, out of principle, and after showing up with the print-out he simply made a note that I brought proof, he didn't even need the paper (one of the things he said he was charging me for). I asked him if the $1.15 was worth the detialed Yelp review I would be writing, he said it was. Summary: Don't bother with this dusty little hovel unless you are looking to get ripped off. . . Apparently Purolator doesn't pay enough for the pick-ups, and charging for a service that's available free all over the city is a good business practice. Who knew? read more
