I emailed 24 hour Geeks and got an appointment for today for a tech genius to come and help me with my internet.
I moved and the tech from the internet company came, did whatever he did downstairs and plugged in the cable to wall and left- I had been trying to get my wifi to work, trying to manually get internet from my Ethernet to laptop- nothing was working and I was having melt downs from using massive amounts of cell data and not being able to work from home. Both the Internet company and D-Link told me it wasn't their issue or that I had to pay $80 for someone to tell me something.
So James came over, he set up my router and then he spent about 20 mins trouble shooting with my internet provider as to why my modem wasn't even online- I am no good at this, I didn't know the online light should have been solid... I basically have no clue at all. So I deal with them and set up a new time for a tech from the provider to come and actually do his job this time.
For James not being able to do much (since if there's no signal I can't get internet...he's not a genie ;) he managed to set up my wifi and router so when I do get my internet I can just sign in no problem and he did all the trouble shooting since I was a deer in the head lights.
I won't comment on price because I don't know the going rates and I've always had friends able to do these things for free but I can tell you that I was thankful for what he did and for dealing with the trouble shooting. I would not say he is expensive by any means however. To me, what he did was priceless however.
James was really nice, patient, my dog liked him and my dog hates men so that's saying a lot. Lol he was easy to book an apt with, he did what could be done without a connection and he dealt with the technical aspect of talking to the Internet company. I would recommend the 24-hour Geeks and will most likely use their services again some time since I'm tech stupid :)
Thanks James! read more
