Since the owner has actually responded I will amend my response to be less humorous and more constructive and down to the point. -the roads are not maintained and it is difficult to drive on this property. Signage is not very clear on where to go. Broken cars are scattered around and when you get to the mechanic bays they are located in frustrating spots that make driving around difficult. -The staff member having lunch was in no way an issue. But I got out of my car, looked around, and finally had to walk up to him and ask if he worked there. He said a total of 9 words to me my entire time here. I understand he may have been on a break but again instructions on where to bring my vehicle were not clear and I felt very uncomfortable. Broken English is completely understandable. A lack of speaking to the customer almost at all is not. -the staff all looked miserable and didn't speak to me. I was serious about the dirty looks. They were audibly and visibly annoyed with me because I didn't know the process for getting an inspection done. Every time I've taken my car to Goodyear they have done the entire inspection for me (I did stop their first but their printer was busted). -You're right that the fee is 7 dollars. I'm also right in that the law is to state what the charges will be before performing the task. Other locations in Hays eat the 7 and don't charge the customer. I don't know the legality on any of this but it would have been courteous to be told what the charge would be before doing it. I hope this was a more specific explanation of the one star rating. Local shops don't have to be poor of quality or customer service. I appreciate you taking the time to read this. I've left it completely void of the previous buffoonery. read more

I went here to get my battery replaced and they had it done super quick. Ashraf saw that the latch on my trunk was broken and because of that, my trunk wouldn't lock. It had been that way for a while now and I had previously taken it to the Nissan dealership I bought it from to be told that I had broken it due to negligence and they would have to charge me to replace some part on it or something. Ashraf knew what was wrong with it so he left to grab a tool and fixed it in two minutes with no trouble at all. At no charge. I really like the employees here, they are very friendly and care about their customers. They don't try to profit off of customers or capitalize on their lack of knowledge about vehicles and I really appreciate their honesty and general concern about their customers having safe and properly functioning vehicles. They really ARE the BEST!!! They absolutely went "Above and Beyond"!! I was moving, and needed my truck repaired. They arranged a tow, gave me accurate quotes, were SUPER helpful & friendly!!! They worked so hard to make things easier for me! My truck ran great (after sitting for 4 yrs!), & they even called 2 weeks later to tell me they had accidentally overcharged me, due to a clerical error, & were refunding the overcharge!! This family owned business is the best place to take your vehicle, in the entire Austin/central Texas area!! Be nice to them, be respectful and polite, because they are truly wonderful people! You won't get better service, more professional work, or honesty and work ethic, anywhere else. I can't say enough good things about them! This place is great! I've been here twice now and the prices are fantastic. The guy who runs it is old school nice. He doesn't try to haggle about prices on small stuff and is genuinely nice. There are tons of cars and it' snice that some of their inventory is listed on partshotlines.com First time I went, I was blown away by the good prices. Second time I went, I was even happier and I think he treats his return customers like he should by giving them a good deal. He doesn't try to charge new prices for used parts. He's fair and prices are fair by far. I only spent $25 the first time and he didn't treat me like my small part purchase wasn't worth his time. So, when I needed another part, I was not discouraged to go back and get what I needed. The second time I got more than a fair deal only spending $35 for parts that would have costed 100+ off ebay plus shipping. I did luck out that they had the car in the color I needed my parts in. But still I left there with a big ass grin on my face because it was worth the hour commute and sweating my balls off. I will be back if I ever need anything else. The guys that pull the parts are hard workers too. We were having trouble figuring out how to get a door handle out of the door and this part puller worked for nearly an hour until he got it out. And he got it out without breaking it too. It was 100+ degrees out and he didn't stop until he got that door handle out for me. The guys also show you how they got the part out so if you're installing the part yourself, you know how it goes back in. I'm really critical of automotive places and this one just made my top 5 places that I've been to that made me more than just happy in my 15 years of dealing with them I'd give 10 stars if I could. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!!! Called them for driver/passenger door wiring harness on a F150. The lady would not give a price, forced you to drive out. Went out there and they wanted $70 a door. I can get from Tasca Parts for 56.00 and 73.00. Why would anyone pay more for used? read more

Just got some work done on my Benz SL500, I had good idea going in of what needed to be done on it but I wanted to hear what they told me and how much it would cost (honesty check) . They hit the nail on the head both with the cause of the problem and they were about $50 cheaper than what I was told the cost would be by other mechanics. They even offered me a loaner car and/or to pick me up and drop me off. Also, there were no surprises, they gave me updates throughout the repair process along with the cost of the repairs. They are very nice guys and I will continue to use them. ps - The repair shop is at the back of the lot, don't freak out when you see all the used cars and parts cars in the front. A couple months ago my Routan wouldn't start for like 30 minutes. When it finally turned over, I looked up nearby repair places and found Hi Tech Automotive. Based on the reviews, I drove there. They took the job and gave me a loaner. They called every step of the way to keep me updated on projected schedule and cost. That said, the job was done a lot sooner and was less expensive than their initial projections. A few months later, the van is running smooth as ever. Also, there was no upsale. I purchased a vehicle from here recently. I was a bit surprised when I was called out to sign the title a few weeks later( it's 45 minutes round trip). I asked why it wasn't given to me to sign with all the other papers and the lady blamed me. I had several incidents of them not logging my payment then calling me and angrily demanding payment, many incidents of rude office ladies and completely unprofessional behavior. I live in Kyle, TX. I took my vehicle for repair at Hi-Tech Automotive shop few time. The customer service has always been friendly. The waiting area need to improve for the customers. They offered two kind of transportation methods while my cars' in the shop. If is's a short stop, they would drop me off and pick me up. If it's a long stop, they would offer a loaner car so I can keep my daily routine. They would work out the bill with me. There are times when they found a good price on parts and offer a reasonable labor price. They would keep my vehicle extra day and have it taken out for a test drive to ensure that it's running smooth before return the vehicle to me. We developed a good relationship over time! read more

I was given a verbal quote for front wheel bearings $225 each, front brake pads $250 and rear brake pads $150 with a free oil change. When I went to pick up my car the total was $1070.30. Wheel bearings $547.96, quote was $450. front brake pads $250 (as quoted) rear brake pads $150.00 (as quoted) oil change $38.94, not free as quoted. $15 diagnostic fee and $30 "shop charges" neither of which were quoted. To top off the $185.00 I was over charged, on my way home my check tire pressure light came on and there was a nail in my tire that was not there before my car was at Hi-Tech Automotive. Also, my brakes are squeaking which I was told by another mechanic that new brakes shouldn't squeak if they are installed correctly. read more
