Fantastic Sushi, with Wonderful Gluten-Free Options!! - - - - - - - - June, 2026 Visit Kyle and his team went out of their way to make us gluten free sushi, off-the-menu!!! and it was amazing! Kyle put so much into getting us a wonderful lunch that we would grant six stars if we could !!!!! For the record, as of this visit, most of the food at Hi sushi is gluten free... only the eel sauce, onion something and tempura have gluten, and they are willing to substitute for you. And still, as we just asked to confirm what we could order, Kyle and Kyla worked to confirm what we wanted and we confirmed a couple substitutes. THEN they worked magic.... They improvised on the recipe and brought us something even more special!! The Tokyo combo is good and they made sure to replace the one fish marinated in eel sauce with another fish - this was good. Same for the nigiri / sashimi we ordered. Both were good without soy sauce... and Lyle replaced that with another gf sauce for us and that was extra tasty, too. Kyle's magic was the Laramie roll... a couple ingredients were substituted, and they put "baby" scallops on top - the smallest I have ever seen, about the size of a pearl onion. I ordered takeout for my husband's birthday and they absolutely crushed it. My husband's favorite roll, a California roll topped with salmon and a thin slice of lemon, was not even on the menu. The manager and Chef Devin happily made it anyway and were incredibly accommodating. The food was outstanding from start to finish. The sashimi was so fresh and perfectly prepared it practically melted in my mouth. The rolls were huge, beautifully made, and bursting with flavor. They rival some of the best sit down sushi spots in the area. If you want top notch sushi with a staff that truly cares, Hi Sushi is the place. The experience was ok but not great the saving grace was that the sushi was delicious other than that everything else was down hill. I understand it combos as a doughnut and coffee shop, but it's just very weird to have those two things in a sushi restaurant, plus the interior is very worn down and the bathrooms are very dimly lit. The staff all looked they would rather be doing something else and were not the greatest servers I had seen, I ordered $60 worth of food and somehow the bill came out to over $80 not sure if there was a $20 gratuity in there or what, but over all not my favorite experience and probably won't visit again even though the sushi was great. read more

You know, when you walk into a establishment, you should greet your customers. No matter what you're doing- anybody that walks through the door should be greeted. Yes, the building signage is confusing. Sushi and Donuts, in one place. But, believe me, they pull it off and it works! Before you sushi purists get all stupid, this place doesn't mix one with the other. You're not going to get a "Boston Cream Sushi Roll"! The donuts are on one side of the counter area, the sushi (and Korean food) are served at the other side. And, make no mistake, they're BOTH outstanding! The donuts are made fresh every day, serving starts at 5am, and they're excellent! From cake donuts to glazed to peanut butter chocolate -- YUMMY all the way! Great selection, superb quality. This is a terrific local donut shop! And, as for the sushi and Asian food, I've only done a few takeouts so far, but I have yet to be disappointed! Quality and taste of the sushi, ramen, shumai and poke bowls is outstanding! They really know what they're doing, fantastic flavor profiles, and their Asian food is some of the best you'll find anywhere in Wyoming. I have to admit, the building looks like it could use a good coat of paint and the counter area be a little less cluttered, but the customer service is great and everything is clean. Ok, hear me out. This place is like if a winchell's donuts from back in the day sold half its space (which is not big) to a sushi place. AND both are open still. The gyoza were fried to perfection dumplings. For those that like Yakki mahndoo it was like real Korean yakki. The "Hi Sushi roll" was a fantastic specialty roll with shrimp tempura in it. And yes to complete the experience, I finished with a blueberry frosted donut. . Delicious but no idea why it's all together. read more

Coming from the East Coast, I know good sushi and I haven't found any that I love either in Cheyenne or Ft.Collins. I've been craving sushi and I did not want to pay Wasabi prices. Bejo left the membrane in my shrimp when I had the tempura roll there (never.again), so I was really debating on trying a new place. 100% worth it! Hi sushi is hands down the best sushi I've had here! It's not expensive, it tasted fresh, my shrimp was cleaned! I ordered delivery and they forgot a roll and quickly delivered the forgotten roll. The people were so friendly about it too! I truly believe this place is a hidden gem. I will not get my sushi anywhere else in Cheyenne! So good! So worth it! Best sushi in town! read more

Wow, awesome spot for sushi here in Cheyenne. My husband and I like to do lunch dates, and we've previously tried other sushi spots in town. Our previous experiences made me believe there were no good sushi places in town. I was being stubborn on trying this place sooner because it also sells donuts and I thought ... boy what a weird combo, no way the sushi is good. I WAS DEAD WRONG! The sushi we just had was fresh, wonderfully presented, and so so so tasty. The gyoza (not pictured) was so tasty, so crunchy, I am floored. Can't believe I haven't tried this place sooner. I ordered a Poke Bowl for pick up. I arrived at the same time my food was being prepared. I stood and was watching the cook cut the fish and I noticed that the cook had a cold, his nose was red and the cook wiped his nose with his glove and continued to cut and prepare my food. This is not acceptable. The cook should have been wearing a mask. If he was sick, he should not have been working directly with food. I canceled my order, and I will not return. read more

Perfect. Food is amazing value considering the price. Staff is polite and attentive to your needs. I got my kid an ice cream cone from McDonald's across the street and it was nearly dripping. Staff brought out a plate for us for the ice cream we didn't even buy here. The egg rolls were the best I've ever had. I don't even like egg rolls but I loved theirs. My husband says Ramen is a 9/10. A surprisingly good sushi place and they even serve great donuts as well. They do a lot of delivery and take out but we choose to eat there as Kyle is very accommodating along with the servers. The dining area is very small and the whole place is not a lot to look at but don't let appearances fool you. There is a very casual atmosphere that makes us feel like we are eating in somebody's kitchen though the sushi is high-quality, especially for Cheyenne. Upon entering the parking lot, I wasn't sure if we had the right place. There isn't any obvious signage but upon closer look the windows had a few photos of sushi menu items. It is a smaller building that shares it's dining area with Delictable Donuts.once seated we noticed how it looked very unclean and grimy. We should have ran away then. Upon being seated it seemed like the staff of three was very overwhelmed. They already had two people seated as well as a to-go order who waited for almost 40 minutes for an order that seemed like it was called well ahead of time. I knew we should have left then. We waited almost an hour for an order of one sushi roll and a chicken teriyaki plate. When the teriyaki plate came out he brought us out two when we only ordered one and didn't bring any silverware before he left to the back. We just sat there for another 15 mins with no silverware and the guy never came back out from the back. At that point we were just done. Still no sushi, unappetizing looking Teriyaki with no utensils to eat it with, and a disgusting dining environment - we just had to leave. We left cash on the table for our drinks and the teriyaki we didn't touch and left. Right as we left, the other patrons seemed to follow behind, fed up with the wait time as well. I feel bad because this is a new place and wanted to give it a chance but this level of service was just deplorable. read more
