Y'all... this is my very favorite place in Cheyenne. As soon as you walk in you feel like you've stepped into someone's home. It's not fancy, which I really like... best way I can put it is like going to your moms. I love the vibe. The menu is simple and straightforward which I also appreciate. The women behind the counter are very sweet and welcoming. The food... the FOOD!! Is soooo delicious and comforting! My favorite is their spicy pork. I've tried their bibimbap, Mandoo, Naengmyeon and their bulgogi all of which are delicious!! They are cash only, so be prepared. Such a great hole-in-the-wall find in Cheyenne! They are currently open for takeout, but you can eat your takeout in the restaurant if you want to. There are a few indoor tables available. The owner came out and sat and chatted with us while we ate. The spicy chicken is fantastic. They have a selection of non-alcoholic beverages available. The kimchi is awesome. They sell it in to go containers by itself, as well. Street parking is available and we were able to park right in front on a Friday afternoon. read more

The Kalbi ribs was tasty but lacked a sear to caramelize the meat This is the only Korean restaurant that did not use short grain rice and did not offer kimchi, which I could overlook except for the meat. Might be the only Korean restaurant in Wyoming we found traveling through the state. Their fried mondoo were delicious, the outside was deep fried perfectly and the filling was tasty. The galbi was okay, I didn't have high expectations though. I think if they added a bit more sauce it would be tastier. read more

Up front: They only accept cash, so hit an ATM because you don't want to miss eating here! Korean House is honestly pretty easy to miss if you don't know what you're looking for, but i promise that you'll be happy you didn't miss it if you go. Who knew I'd be able to find some of the most bangin' Korean food in freaking Cheyenne!!! Place is a total hole in the wall and we were the only non Asians in the joint so we knew it was gonna be fire. Adding to the authenticity, the menu was just pictures on the wall and the Korean ladies working in the kitchen got into a fight over mistranslating a to go order! My friend and I both got bibimbap with bulgogi. One, the lunch portion for like $9 feed us for like three days! Second, that meat was like crack good. And third, literally everything was so fresh and the rice so crispy! If I lived in Cheyene, I'd be there like twice a week and sustain my entire life eating their bibimbap! read more

This is a definite hole in the wall find in Cheyenne. My sister had raved about the Taiwanese food hut but it wasn't open on Monday. Had a craving for Asian food, so found this. It's cash only, so make sure to have some. My son and I both had the bulgogi, my wife had bibimbop and my nephew had mandoo. Because it's run by 2 older ladies, the speed of service was a bit slow. Took a good 15 min after ordered and we were the only one in the store at the time. Once we got the food, it was all legit. Just the size or portion was on the smaller size. And most Korean restaurants would offer more banchan choices that this place lack. Given we're not in Texas or California where most Koreans reside, this is still a good choice and a bit of pleasant surprise read more

Found the only Korean place on the road along I80, based on the request of my travel companion. Food wise, it's ok. When your customer base is non Koreans and mostly local WY residents, the food is good and exotic. Personally, since I've been spoiled by Korean foods in LA NYC and home its not fair to compare this place to my experiences. Got the kimchee stew, spicy beef soup, and spicy noodles. It did the job and satisfied our needs. Price wise, it's not too bad. Good that I checked Yelp before coming, this place is cash only. The waitress and owner came by to chat, guess they don't normally serve other Koreans regularly. Owner was nice, been in states since 78 and following her husband got her to Texas and then to WY. Started the restaurant in early 2000's since that's what she knows and needed to work. She confirmed that there are not that many Koreans in the area. Nice lady, good local business. It's clear that she runs the place the best she can and takes pride in the food that she makes. Other subtle signs point to fact that she's a church goer and has strong faith, which is not a bad thing and something that we both share. More than the food, I enjoyed speaking with other Koreans along the cross country drive and finding that other hard working immigrants making America great which was the principle on which this great country founded on. At the end of the day, we are all immigrants trying to make our way in this world. Why can't we all recognize the universality of our shared immigrant struggles and have just a little more compassion for our brothers and sisters whether they are from this place or other. Making our country great again, with everyone's input whether already here or just arriving. Sorry, got off track but this is a deeply personal narrative which has been bothering me last few years. Road tripping through Cheyenne and thought I was seeing things...in the middle of cowboy country is this totally unassuming Korean joint. The woman who runs the place is welcoming but very no nonsense. She sat me and brought over water and a menu. I ordered the beef bi bim bap and an egg roll. I didn't think I'd finish my food, the portion size is pretty generous. Fast forward 10 minutes it's all gone. If I wasn't full, I'd have ordered more food. Everything was homemade with love. The woman who made my egg roll came out to give it to me and then told me how she made it. Very cute. The food was so flavourful. Quite possibly the best meal in Cheyenne and definitely some of the best Korean fare I've had this side of Seoul. When one considers the price and the fact that everything is homemade, Korean House is a hidden gem! It's a tiny place with only 8 or 9 tables, so it can be packed in a hurry and because its just a little ma 'n pa place with the same folks prepping meals and waiting tables, it can take a bit to get your meal if they're busy, but it's worth the wait. The Kim Chee is available in 3 homemade varieties and is sold in bulk for take out in addition to being a side item with each entree. It is delicious. The freshly made Mondoo dumplings are available either fried or steamed. They were served piping hot and were filled with a beef mince. They were tasty! The Be Bim Bop is a great choice since it has a potpourri of flavors. The contrasting tastes of fresh sliced Daikon radish, cucumber, sliced pork, bean sprouts and steamed rice topped by a beautifully fried egg all complimented each other. As a condiment, the red bean paste sauce added a bit of a kick, but not as much as a Sriracha would. Instead it had a deeper flavor instead of heat. Great stuff! If you're in Cheyenne, definitely do make this a meal stop, but beware - they are a cash only business! No credit or ATM cards are accepted. As of July 20, 2015 everything is take out. No service at the restaurant any more. So no sit downs. We could smell the food from the street where we parked. It is very hard to find good Korean food anywhere. But I could just tell by the smell that the food would be delicious. After arriving back home we discovered the amazing tastes of our meals. The small scoop of Kim Chi was very spicy and the hot sauce packaged along with the food was out there... but I thought it tasted great, but something that spicy isn't for everyone. I had the Be Bim Bop with chicken and my wife had the Bulgogi. We both shared our meals and we thought the beef was a little over cooked, but tasty. The chicken I had with mine was a little on the dry side, but after adding the spicy sauce, I didn't really notice. We will go back again, but this time we will order ahead so we don't have to wait. We asked why they stopped serving in the restaurant and was told they just couldn't do it anymore. Well, as long as I can order ahead, I don't mind taking it home and eating it. Fast service, authentic food, delicious flavoring ... reasonably priced! The restaurant was very clean and I was able to park right on the street. The employees were very friendly but they do not accept credit cards. Come support this local business. I had the beef bulgogi this trip and the spicy chicken last trip. The beef was delicious and the sauce was very flavorful and went with the rice well. The spicy chicken is extremely spicy and I love spice. Our family loves this place and have been coming here for years. Couple of things to note: they close at six pm and only take cash, also the sign on the door says carry out only. We had wait service too (for lunch). Staff is minimal, so service isn't the fastest in the world, necessarily, but they sure turn out terrific Korean entrees and traditional sides. I ordered "Spicy Rice Cake" which includes meat and finger-sized rice noodle/dumpling/cakes (really, I've never had anything like them--they were like giant udon noodles). This was all stirred together in a red-pepper paste. The entree was accompanied by spinach, bean sprouts with sesame oil, daikon, kimchi, and steamed rice. Tremendous! The Korean House is a local favorite, and is frequented by Air-Force personnel, particularly--it is only a few blocks from the base. Anyway, they are definitely military friendly.
