Growing up in a town called Palisades Park, NJ...I have been to more Korean restaurants than I can count. It is a part of me, and by far my one of favorite things to eat. My mom now lives in Myrtle Beach. I come here to see her often and she always tells me how much she misses the Korean restaurants back home. So I found this place and decided to give it a whirl with very low expectations. The price for starters blew me away- $25 a person AYCE hotpot and bbq is almost unheard of! I really didn't believe it until I physically saw the bill. I also like how they have all the raw meats/fish and veggies set up in a buffet like style for you to bring back to the table to cook for yourself. Each person at the table gets their own soup aka hotpot that they can put whatever they want into it-I got the mushroom one and it was just simply outstanding. For the Vegans and Vegetarians- so many options here for you all as well! Everything was so fresh and even when I was full- I couldn't stop eating. We all definitely ate more than $25's worth. The service was also fantastic, the waitress constantly kept coming to check on us to make sure our table was good. Everything was seasoned properly and very fresh with a ton of dipping sauces that would make anyone who goes there happy. I will however say, they need to step up on the side dishes- the kimchi could have been a better quality along with their cold radish and spicy cucumber side, maybe possibly add some type of salad bar. The actual bbq pit on the tables could also be a little bit bigger, I found it to be small and it made it hard to cook all the meats and veggies at the same time. But other than that hats off the owner for making such a fantastic inexpensive Korean restaurant in Myrtle Beach. This place is a win for sure! read more

Trying a hot pot for the first time was intimidating, but our server was wonderful and talked us through all the options and gave us clear instructions that were easy to follow. The food was fresh and tasted great, there were lots of sauce options. They were also running a summer special so we could do the bbq as well as the pot for the normal price of just the hot pot. We came back to the area for a visit and had to make this place one of our first stops. This was one of the main places we missed coming to after we moved away. We really enjoyed this place! It's all you can eat & you get to pick your own meats from the bar. Unlimited!! I love the fact that they label the bar so you know what to use for the BBQ & hot pot. There's an array of fresh vegetables & seasonings. The decor is modern & beautiful. Our waitress made sure to check on us from time to time in order to refill our waters & hot pot. Oh! The hot pot flavors were so good!! I chose the bone broth & it had so much flavor that I was content with just drinking it. I did eventually add garlic & green onions. When I added shrimp & bokchoy it elevated the experience. Oh! They also have fresh crab legs, oysters, mussels, & clams. Best food in the Myrtle Beach area! Service was also great. If you are with a big group, I suggest getting a table with 2 grills if you can. It's buffet style, so you go up and get everything you want and cook it on the grills. The hotpot broth options are also really good, so far I had the original and mushroom. Short ribs were also on point! Definitely my favorite meat option. If you've never been here, you're absolutely missing out. My wife and I are total foodies and have been to quite a few different Korean bbq restaurants, and HI POT absolutely takes the cake. Amber, our server was awesome! Very attentive, yet personable and made it a very good experience. The food tastes very fresh and us seasoned perfectly right out of the gate! My friends and I tried this Hi Pot and AYCE and it was delicious. So many varieties of meats and side dishes. I would recommend the hot pot and AYCE, save your appetite because you want to eat what you paid for. I believe some people will say it's pricey, but I've been to numerous AYCE/hot pot and it's about the same price range. This place was crowded and I'm glad we went early. There was a line out the door when we were almost done and it appears/seemed the waitress wanted us to be done so they can clear the table for others. Great price Great food Great service! I go almost every month. Seats are nice and generally just a good atmosphere. So many options and plenty to eat, I've never left hungry! Although I wish they had some sort of fish filet option. I still think there's a wonderful amount of options to choose from. Korean bbq and hot pot restaurant. It's a little different from other Korean restaurants I've been to, because it has a buffet of all the ingredients that you can use to build your hot pot or bbq. The options are all you can eat bbq, all you can eat Hotpot, or all you can eat combo with everything. Everyone at the table has to get the same thing. We got the combo because we wanted to try it all. I've enjoyed Korean BBQ many times, but I am less familiar with the hot pot. I loved the opportunity to pick out just the meat I wanted and as much as I wanted for the bbq. The hot pot had so many choices, it was kind of crazy. They have six different bases for the hot pot. I got the mushroom, which was delicious. But I was more focused on the BBQ, because that's what I know and love. This place was so good, all the meats had a delicious marinade and were tender. The options of sauces and sides was plentiful. The restaurant is pretty new, and it was very clean and nice inside. The waitress and the host - maybe the owner - was very nice. read more

Very happy to finally see a KBBQ & hot pot place in Myrtle beach. Seeing that it's been packed out with hour long wait, the demand is certainly there. *wink wink* Let's work on getting more spots like this one! I was tempted to give this 3/5 but that simply wouldn't be fair coming from someone who's from Atlanta with an abundance of KBBQ and hot pot. I think this is a great spot for this area! Hot pot: broths were decent. I think they could have a bit more depth and seasoning. We did pork bone and mushroom; I thought the mushroom one was more flavorful honestly. I loved that they did include some authentic hotpot topping such as bean curd, lotus root, and radish. Blue crab is also a huge plus. It gives the broth amazing umami flavor. I would love to see them expand to some lamb for grill or bbq and grow the veggie section! Perhaps taro, shiitake or ear wood mushrooms? Sauce bar could also use chopped jalapeños or Thai chilis. The noodle section could also use improvement. I'd get trade lomain for rice noodles/ vermicelli. Fresh noodles would be a big ask, but delicious. KBBQ: All the meat was plentiful and well seasoned! I appreciated the seafood selection and access to butter at the sauce bar. First time seeing butter used at KBBQ but it really works! I highly recommend getting a big serving of the butter sauce with garlic to grill a round of veggies to go with your meat. Best mushrooms of your life! I don't have a lot of negatives for BBQ tbh. This was our first time at a Korean bbq. The atmosphere was nice, the waitress was nice, and the food was good. I'm sure the food could have been even better if there was some sort of guide to use for suggestions. You're just left to figure it out. So glad a place like this has opened up in Myrtle! This place was packed when we came in at around 8:30pm, wait was about 30-40 minutes as expected for a new popular place. The parking lot was pretty much full. We had both the hot pot and kbbq. It is all you can eat meats, veggies, and more. You get up and grab your own plate which is nice. Tonight was the second night after their opening and WOW! It was packed and we had to wait about an hour to get seated, but it was so worth it! This was our first time at a Korean BBQ restaurant and we will definitely come back for future visits. Next time we'll try the soup bases. The prices are perfect for what you can choose from. They have a really nice selection of beef, pork, seafood and more. I have Celiac and had no issues with their selections. They even offer a gluten free roman which is very exciting. My husband and I were in the area and decided to try Hi Pot. First, we had no idea you cooked your own meat until our waitress explained the process. Perhaps this is common knowledge for Korean BBQ, if so, novice mistake! But I am a "recovering vegetarian" and not really interested in raw meat. That being said, we paid $100 for dinner for the two of us. I had mushroom broth, broccoli, mushrooms, and ramen noodles. My husband fared better - shrimp, beef, spicy chicken and veggies w spicy broth. Now that we know what it is, we have thoughts on how to make a great hot pot. I wish the restaurant or the servers gave more detailed suggestions to people not familiar with this type of restaurant. I walked in before the rest of my family to ask some questions and get a feel for the place as we have never visited a restaurant like this before. Everyone at the desk was super accommodating and answered all my silly questions! I went out to get the rest of my family, and they had a table ready for us with a highchair when we came back in. Our waitress was amazing and fully explained the process to us since we have never had Korean BBQ before. Then there's the food. OMG, it was amazing! We did the combo, so BBQ and Hot Pot. Our server was great and very helpful. We did the BBQ/hot pot combo and honestly there is just no reason to only do one or the other. The selection of meat was huge and had lots of unique choices. There were also tons of vegetables to pick from and a few types of noodles. The sauce bar had great variety and there were several specialty drinks to choose from as well. We did one spicy soup base and one original (each diner gets to pick their own flavor base and then all share one grill for the bbq). The spicy definitely had some heat to it but not so spicy it was painful or anything. My only (tiny) complaint is that it was very warm with all the soups and grills going and the steam really had nowhere to go, so I got pretty hot while heating - just something to consider when choosing clothing for the evening! read more

Waitress was nice but slow at coming back with new paper to put on the grill and it wasn't busy there at that time. There were 3 of us and it took way too long to cook all our food on the grill. I went with a party and I thought it was great, my bf said it was okay, and his mom actually got food poisoning... I do think it was from her maybe not cooking the food all the way because we pretty much had the same things except different soup base. I always leave my meat in the soup longer than stated. This place was a total find! In a well traveled tourist town, that has tons of food options this was a total package experience meal!! Much like a cook in front of you or fondue type restaurant. The options are endless, we did both the soup & BBQ style of cooking to get the FULL experience. Just tried Hi-Pot, a new Korean BBQ restaurant in Myrtle Beach, SC. We decided to do both the BBQ and the Hot Pot at our table. We had so much fun picking foods to cook and to add to our soup base. They have a great selection of different meats, seafood, vegetables, side dishes and sauces to choose from!
