Drinks are good, but the ordering/pickup system needs serious improvement. I placed a pickup order for 5 drinks around 12:08 today and came in expecting it to be ready. It wasn't. I ended up waiting over an hour (about 1 hour 15 minutes total) to receive everything. There was only one cashier handling both the front counter and managing drinks coming out, and I had to ask multiple times for a status update. The most frustrating part was customers who ordered after me received their drinks before I did. After about an hour, I was given 4 out of 5 drinks, and then told one drink couldn't be made because they were out of mochi. That should've been flagged much earlier (or marked unavailable in the app) instead of being discovered after I'd already been waiting that long. I like the drinks, but this pickup experience was chaotic and unacceptable. They need better staffing, clearer order queue management, and real-time item availability in the app. Will not return to this store. read more

My first impression was that this place smelled SO BAD. We walked in and the stench of almost old rotten tea hits your nose, but at the same time you can smell the herbacious tea notes within the stench. It was an odd feelings. Anyways, we stayed because my friend and I were craving boba. I had my friend go in and order for us. The tea itself was pretty good. I got a cheese tea with boba. The boba was chewy and cooked to perfection. The cheese with the tea allowed for a nice, refreshing creamy drink that wasn't too sweet. Price wise, the drink was pretty expensive, but it also makes sense given that it was situated right in the middle of rodeo drive. Came in on a Wednesday after work and was really excited to try them out. A lot of my friends in China have been raving about it but I was overall a little underwhelmed. First they ran out of the legendary grape boom that I had heard so much about. So will need to go back to amend my review. I ended up getting the passion fruit blast which was great, you can tell they use high quality fruits for their drinks. But the other lasting impression was how slow the service was. For how many ppl there were working in the back it still took me 20 mins to get my drink. There is an abundance of boba tea shops nowadays which is a great thing, but a large majority of them are pretty generic. Except for Hey Tea. Wowza. Unique tea flavors that are fresh and fruity. There is a reason their grape boom and mango grapefruit boom are bestsellers. I was initially turned off by Hey Tea's overall shiny, extravagant vibe with its slick stores and marketing collabs. Making it worse was the hype and the long lines. BUT, I have to give this place props. Elevated drinks you can't really find at normal boba shops. I visited on a weekday around when they opened and there was no line. I was so excited to try this spot and it did not disappoint. I ordered the mango coconut boom which was the perfect treat. There's not too much sago, you can tell it's high quality imported Asian mango, and the coconut is not overly sweet. I did appreciate the chunks of mango you'd occasionally get sipping on it. The price for Beverly Hills is shockingly cheap. Many boba places are already charging the same prices, but with lesser ingredients. I'll be returning soon! read more

This was definitely worth the hype. I'm so glad they decided to open this famous Chinese boba place in LA. I got the Mango Grapefruit Boom and it was very good. Not too sweet and fresh flavors. The mango pulp bits were so soft and had a sweet mango flavor. The grapefruit provided a nice tartness. The jellies were also great. Finally, the coconut milk meshed all the different flavors and textures very well, a silky and smooth drink. I wasn't able to get any of the sago drinks, but will definitely do so in the future. I have heard of this place for a long time. I went there excitedly on the weekend. I was told that I needed to queue up for an hour on Yelp, so I turned around and left. I decided to try my luck on the weekday. As expected, there was no need to queue up! The clerk recommended the most popular flavor in the store, the first one, popcorn, but I didn't order it because it was too sweet. I chose the second most popular Cassia and Mulberry. Later, I felt that I was worrying too much. The sweetness of their perfect is really perfect! Cassia is cinnamon? But it tastes like barley tea! The brown sugar doesn't steal the flavor of the tea, and the fusion is just right! Mulberry is mulberry, a very refreshing fruit tea, sour and sweet. The amazing thing is that I think its syrup sweetness is very comfortable to drink, and it doesn't make people feel greasy. The mochi inside is really amazing. When I ordered it, I was afraid that it would be sticky because I was too full and didn't want to eat mochi. But it turned out to have the texture of jelly and the toughness of mochi, which is amazing! I haven't tasted the second one in Los Angeles. While ordering food at a nearby restaurant and waiting to pick it up, I walked around the vicinity and landed upon this cute an amazing tea shop. The inside is very simple but very high catchy, especially if you love taking pictures or you are a foodie. Any questions we may have had were answered very thoroughly by the staff and they were very helpful on all the amazing options that they have I chose to go with the supreme Macha latte and let me tell you it was very good! I've been here soo many times in the last three months because I am addicted !! The mango booms are my favorite but I have tried everything on the menu and there hasnt been a drink that I did not like. The mango is super fresh and just tastes so refreshing.. I've been here on a friday night when it was super busy (1 hour wait) and ive been here on a weekend night where it's not too busy at all. They drinks are all made very well so you may need to wait a bit since they are busy and the drinks are made with a lot of care. Side note: I have ordered more than one drink and stored them in the fridge. The drinks actually age extremely well in the fridge even the day after. I was surprised to see a boba shop in Beverly Hills when I came here for lunch. It was also near the restaurant where we had lunch so I thought why not? The store is so tiny. There is a QR code you can scan to order if the cashier is too busy to take your order. Didn't end up using that but I can see it coming in handy because the inside barely fits 5 customers standing around. I ordered a bobo milk tea and a matcha jasmine latte. Half sugar, less ice, no boba. I knew there were some orders ahead of me but didn't know it would take 20 minutes for them to have my drinks out. Both drinks after tax and tip ended up being about $20. Beverly Hill location, Beverly Hill prices??? I ordered with English but while waiting, did read some of the previous reviews and ended up speaking Chinese with them when I went back to pick up my drinks. The drinks are good but I can't see myself becoming a repeat customer. The high prices, small location and long wait are missed marks for Hey Tea. During my visit, they only had 3 staff members but I'm not sure what they were doing.
