    Matcha Matcha

Love their Matcha and Hojicha drinks! It is hard to find shops that carry hojicha drinks so I love that Cha Redefine sells 3 types of hojicha drinks. My favorite is Cha Cha Hojicha. Also love the Matcha Matcha. Shop is small but has an ample amount of seating both inside and outside. Staff is super friendly and quick.

I was in the area and found this boba spot on Yelp, so I decided to give it a try. The girl working Saturday morning was incredibly sweet and took the time to patiently explain each drink. I kept it simple and ordered the iced Sri Lanka Ceylon latte with boba and no roasted pecan (cause I hate pecans). The drink was smooth and well-balanced, with no overpowering flavors, and the boba added a fun touch. I'd definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again.

Sri Lanka cha latte w soy milk

    |[ h m m ]| Tried the highly praised Sri Lanka cha latte w soy milk and tea jelly (no sugar) and sadly wasn't up to par with any strong tea taste to me 3/5. IMO good milk tea does not need to be drowned out in sugar to be "good", in fact, it should be amazing because of the tea aroma. The tea flavor was too light for me and tasted like tea flavored water. The nutty topping and tea jelly in the drink was good though! Tbh - I think the high reviews are mostly due to the high cream and sugar/sweetness rather than the tea quality, which is fine, but I'm just rly picky about tea and don't like anything to be super sweet lol. |[ n o t e s ]| They initially made the drink wrong (it had sugar when I asked for none) so we had to go back, and parking is HARD-- it's a small lot w valet but luckily they let us park to run in to have the order corrected. Busy tea shop I think where tiger sugar used to be. Ambiance was usual ktown busy. Open to trying again if they improve the flavors without relying on sugar more, or maybe I'll try a different drink if I come back.

Got drinks from the Hojicha series and it was pretty mid imo. Hojicha had no depth, and it just tasted like milk. Wouldn't get again. Around closing on a Thursday, there was also this sewage stench inside that was nearly unbearable... Thankfully there are plenty of tables outside to enjoy or drinks. Would probably give this place another try for other drinks.

This place rocks!!! Located in the same plaza as several KBBQ places, this new boba shop is poppin. I love how vast the menu is, and that they also carry a wide variety of non milk tea options. Everyone will find something they like here! I got their Black Sesame mochi smoothie and it was one of the best drinks I've ever had. It was also probably like 1000 calories lol. But the little white mochi balls in the drink were reminscent of boba, but a million times better. I think I got it at 50 or 75% sweetness and it was SO good, dialing back the sweetness let the natural fragrance of the black sesame shine. Service was fast and good! There's some outdoor seating area right in front, and also inside. I think about this drink all the time. I must go back!!

I really like the boba drinks at Cha Redefine and I'm a big fan of hojicha. So was very excited to try their seasonal hijocha drinks. The 1st drink I tried was the Cha Cha Hojicha, which is tea with rice mochi, cheese milk, milk and oat. The 2nd drink was the Hojicha Einspanner, which is tea with cold foam, milk, and crispy rice puff. Between the two, I highly preferred the Einspanner. The drink was well balanced, delicious and yummy in the roasted nutty flavor. Staff was nice and friendly.

I'm so happy to see a Cha Redefine has a location in Ktown as the one in Pasadena unfortunately closed. The interior with the gradient wall is so fun and appealing! A small shop where tiger sugar used to be. The staff was friendly and drinks came out quickly and very pretty! I love black sesame so had to try one of those drinks and it did not dissapoint. The black sesame mochi drink was a really nice sweet treat. I also got the matcha which was strong and a great flavor! I would absolutely order again when back in Ktown!

This was honestly the worst boba I've had in Los Angeles. LA has so many great boba shops, so serving boba that are clearly past their prime is unacceptable. Old boba completely ruins the drink. Extremely disappointing, especially in a city where good boba is everywhere.

Thiiiick! These teas are so good, filling, and they have substance. Fresh taro and very customizable. Service is fast and the ambiance is cute in K town.

Came here yesterday after having kbbq next door. The interior is on the smaller side but very beautiful with the neon lights and modern furniture. There's a tablet to order right when you walk in. One of the staff members asked if I had any questions about the menu and let me sampled the barley popping boba when I asked about the Poppin' Milk Tea. Staff was very friendly. I ended up ordering the Sri Lanka Ceylon Cha Latte and added boba. I probably could've done without the whipped cream. I wished the drink was a little more tea forward but overall, it was good.

There were people sitting outside with their drinks when I got there. I ordered the Mango Mango which comes with 3 whole mangos, grapefruit, agar boba, coconut milk, & jasmine tea. This drink is refreshing, a bit tart, & not overly sweet. I appreciate the strong mango flavor. It wasn't busy inside so service was quick and friendly. Parking- street parking or $10 self park in plaza parking

The Service: Jolie was taking my order at the counter. She gave great recommendations since it was my first visit. I was watching her preparing the order.... super efficient! Excellent service! They have self-serve kiosk as well. There are seating area inside & outside the store. If you are getting it to-go, not only they have cup holder, they have insulated to-go bag too. So thoughtful! The Drinks: Well.... They are more than just "drinks"! They are totally desserts to me. Lately it is so hot here in LA, we need something refreshing to cool it down. We were so glad we found this place. Mango Mango, in addition to the mango puree, they even use real mango chunks! We found boba too. We pour it in the bowl & eat it with the spoon that's how much surprises in the drink. Perfect summer dessert!! Mochi Strawberry, love the mochi, love the texture! Can never go wrong with strawberry flavor. Matcha Tornado, how cute they name this drink! Taro & Matcha mixture. Taro is one of my favorite Asian desserts. What a great combination. Blueberry Matcha Latte, I love they have so many fruity flavors. Their creativity is impressive. The Parking: Valet parking at their little Plaza (with fee). Or street parking on Alexandria Ave (free).

The tea here is different from other places--it's not too sweet, smoother, and has a pleasant finish. The matcha is especially delicious. I also recommend the Rice Einspänner coffee. The staff are all friendly, and I think I'll be coming back often.

When I went to pick it up, I grabbed a saucer to avoid spilling on my way back to my seat. Before I could even walk away, one of the baristas snatched it from my hand and said, "You're not allowed to use that. The saucers go with the latte mugs!" I paused, glanced at the empty café behind me, and replied, "There are plenty available--surely I can use one." He continued, in a dismissive tone, speaking to me in a way that felt unnecessarily disrespectful. I chose to walk away and still enjoy my pour-over. But it's not just about serving good coffee. As Maya Angelou reminds us, people will always remember how you made them feel. And in this space, I felt unwelcome. As a paying customer--one who tipped in advance--that behavior felt undeserved and unwarranted. For that reason, there's no need to return.

The furniture doesn't exactly match and I don't know what the overall vibe is supposed to be but it works. It just works. We went in the middle of the day. Busy but quiet in that way where the energy is there but nobody is performing. If you want a table you need a reservation. Good to know going in. We kept it simple. French fries, carrot cake, milk tea for me and a Korean coffee for Fadi. The carrot cake was legitimately great. The menu has a lot more going on than our choices reflect. I looks like they do some Italian things, among other stuff. I am pretty sure I saw carbonara on the menu so yea, we barely scratched the surface. Forgot to check if it's open late night but if it is, what a great spot for late night studying. There's just something about it that makes you want to share it; not post it, share it, like actually grab a friend and walk them through the door so they can have the experience themselves. The drinks were on the sweeter side, which is what I prefer, but not too sweet that it drowns out the matcha flavor. The double matcha was topped with a thick layer of sweet cream which balanced nicely with the slight matcha bitterness. The jasmine matcha, which was the seasonal drink, was very jasmine forward and garnished with flowers (I ended up spitting them out; had the texture of disintegrating paper straws). Otherwise, it was one of the better matchas I've had, especially because it didn't make me feel jittery. The vibe was quiet, clean, and minimalistic. The chairs looked straight out of a modern art museum. It's like musical chairs, but the loser still gets a chair, just one without back support.
