This place was SO cool, it was definitely a hidden gem. Getting there we were so confused but once we found the bar, it was awesome. It has a pool to dip your feet in and if you're lucky, swings to chill on at the bar. It was like being a little kid with an adult beverage. Their other seating was nicely placed too, around the bar and a pretty koi pond. Service was great, appetizers were good. We would definitely recommend it.

10/10 s/o to the bartender for the drinks. So so good. We came during happy hour. Hidden little spot but so cute

Jaynar S.

We came because of the cool outdoor bar where you sit on a swing. That was the coolest part! Just be careful because after a few drinks, you could fall off! This is located in the hotel's pool area, so they'll be guests swimming. The service was ok, nothing special. Their pinacoladas are nothing to rave about as they come premade in that mixting machine. We had the Hummus dip as an appetizer. Overall, it's cool spot, I just don't recommend the pinacoladas.

They didn't have draft beer but did have a selection of local cans and bottles

Heyday is a fun place with a relaxing ambiance and friendly service. Food is good and relatively inexpensive, we had the steak, tuna melt, fish tacos and fried rice. Everything was good and they have some interesting cocktails. Next door is a speakeasy called the green door. The bar is next to the White Sands Hotel Pool

What We Ordered: Happy hour daiquiri Rotating frozen slushie cocktail Highlights: * Service: friendly, attentive * Food/Drinks: happy hour drinks seemed a little weaker/watered down. Frozen cocktail was better and more flavorful. * Ambiance: trendy, eclectic bar at the pool behind a motel. Swinging chairs at the bar which were sooo fun!! * Price: not worth it for the happy hour drinks, reasonable for regular cocktails

Ceviche and cheesy gooey flatbread (French bread pizza)

Heyday is part of the White Sands hotel which has a retro kitschy vibe. Located right by the hotel's swimming pool and nestled in between well kept koi ponds, it feels like you're entering a laidback, circular hidden bar with swings positioned around it. We came for the 3-6pm happy hour; ordered 4 shots, 2 apps (ceviche was ok but warm, and the flat bread was a French bread pizza but still yummy), and spent a whopping $70 which included tip (nice ring to this in this economy). The bartenders were extremely attentive and friendly, which made for such a pleasant experience.

This bar is so cute with their swings, especially at night! It had a very chill vibe and was a nice place to hang out. Personally, I thought the drinks were kinda strong. The location does feel random because its the pool bar at the White Sands hotel.

Heyday was awesome. We loves the swings as chairs and really liked our espresso martinis! The patio/pool are is beautiful! The bartender was also super friendly and talkative!

Jamie W. and I were told Heyday was a gay bar. They were wrong. No, it's one of those outdoor hotel tiki bars next to the swimming pool. It's the White Sands Hotel on Nohohani in Waikiki, and to make you feel like an outsider, they make you walk a longish tunnel past the registration desk, and onto the lanai crowded with guests on chaise lounges. The bar is a circular outdoor bamboo hut, but instead of stools, they installed swings. It sounds like a cute idea, but they were rather awkward to climb on. I could well imagine drunken tushes on the concrete from a failure to mount the swing. Luckily we didn't face that dilemma as we ordered our libations. They offered several mai tais and even a build-your-own-daiquiri option. We went with two of their lookalike $16 poolside cocktails. Jamie went for their basic Pina Colada, while I ordered the Zicatela Lifeguard, a blend of mezcal, habanero, coconut, pineapple, and orange (photo: https://yelp.to/T9R_y-0EVP). Both were tropically appropriate and tasty, though the bartender filled our glasses with so much ice it diluted the drinks. Gee, I think I need help getting off this swing. COCKTAILS - 3 stars...too much ice to fully satisfy AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...well, the hut was nice but oh, those swings SERVICE - 3 stars...bartender was preoccupied TOTAL - 3 stars...tiki yes, gay no RELATED - Exploring Hawaii? Chef Robynne's Mai Tai - Big Island mamaki tea-infused rums, aged Hawaiian agricole, orange, orgeat, lime

So this bar was actually not on my list, completely didnt notice it during planning somehow - but the speakeasy attached to the same hotel (Green Lady) was, so I ended up here, the first time, while looking for the entrance to the speakeasy next door. When I saw they had a mai tai with mamaki tea-infused rum on the menu, though, I had to stop and try it on my way. It's $19, though so I wouldn't necessarily recommend it - it *was* a wonderfully-built mai tai, but it didn't taste particularly tea-infused. For fancy stuff I'd probably recommend Green Lady over Heyday. Anyway, I also noticed while I was there, that they also have a pretty solid happy hour on basic cocktails for $8 until 6 (also one $6 draft beer) - funny enough, the next day my wife happened to be looking for a place to get cheap drinks around 5 PM, and Heyday being only a couple blocks from our hotel, I was like... I know a place! Was much happier paying $8 for a cocktail than $19, though admittedly the mai tai was much fancier. Was a solid daiquiri though. (My wife's moscow mule, though, I agree with her, was more ice than drink.) I did also love the vibe of the place, out by the pool, with swings for most of the seats (they do have a few normal seats, though). Definitely feels like you're on vacation.

Walt P.

Cool bar and cafe. It's located in a center of a courtyard with lots of plants and super cool retro. The bar had about a half dozen swing chairs. The back deck is located next to a koi pond so the ambience is awesome. Service was excellent staff was super friendly. The drinks were good and unique and the food was solid bar food. Prices were reasonable. I highly recommend recommend this place to chill and relax.

Gigi T.

Tucked away at the ground floor of the White Sands hotel is their bar with swings! It's a fairly small space with a few tables around the bar next to the hotel pool. They have live music in the evening though. if you are looking for a place with a chill vibe with a hint of fun, this is your place! Bar menu has your usual bar food and prices aren't too crazy! if you do want to snatch a spot at the bar with the swings, go before 5pm! i was there around 6pm on a Monday and all the bar seats were taken! And also note there is a speakeasy here too but it's closed on Mondays!

If you want to be called a B*TCH by your bartender that gave you horrid service, go here! I live here & brought a friend from mainland here, to get first ignored until the end of Happy Hour, while staff gossiped and looked at us, & second, called a "B*TCH" when I asked if he liked his job. Neither of the bartenders working last nite deserve their jobs. The female bartender's greeting after watching us walk in & then ignoring us for over 5 minutes to talk to the guy who called me a b*tch: "Do you know what you want?" Also, there were only 4 customers there. I guess these 2 don't like to work for money...entitled & nasty. Save your money, swing at the park. read more

Truly an all around enjoyable experience! Walked in on a Saturday, no res, got a table right away. The hostess was very pleasant which started the evening off right. Our server was animated and attentive. He apologized for the service but I did not notice anything wrong. The food was good, nothing too crazy, but everything was v. Cheesy toast for the win! I would pass on the onion dip next time, it was good but it wasn't amazing. Drinks were good, again, nothing too crazy but delicious. This is such a gem - the energy of Heyday is so relaxed and at ease. It's how you imagine weekend afternoon in Waikiki should be. I don't know about the parking situation but it's located on a two way street so getting dropped off is easy! read more

This place was a great vibe, the live music and cocktails were great. We came in tonight with about 12 people. It was quickly ruined by the bartender with the beard and raspy voice who asked my girlfriend, who was paying the bill with my card, to flash him since he gave us a locals discount, and after she said no, kept pressing the issue remarking about how her top was adjustable. Fuck off. read more

An absolute must for any visitor to Waikiki, Heyday does something extraordinary by taking the classic, retro Hawaiian hotel bar and somehow elevating it and turning it on its head at the same time. We found ourselves returning to this spot again and again while staying at the equally as incredible hotel in which Heyday is housed, and were thoroughly impressed by this spots killer takes on Hawaiian classics infused with a contemporary, global vibe. Our first visit was at happy hour to peruse their elevated tiki menu around their absolutely stunning bamboo carousel bar. I mean, the seats are swings- could it get more fun than this? She sampled a perfect and potent Beachside Mai Tai, whereas I had the Banana Hammock, a quirky little tropical-scented daiquiri. It was the perfect way to take in the surroundings. Located poolside in the courtyard of the hotel, complete with gorgeous plushy beach chairs and umbrellas, well-tended tropical gardens, and swinging palms, it is stylish, cozy, and a throwback taste of '60's Hawaiian cool that just screams classic comfort. On our second visit, we enjoyed a midday Mai Tai at the pool soaking up the sun before a day out. Finally, we returned one final time for dinner before checking out and heading for the airport. We were well accommodated without reservations, and enjoyed sitting at a table near the bar, which had a completely different vibe- buzzy and stylish- at night. The food, which didn't have to be, was excellent, with the gooey cheesy toast, vegan lumpia, and ginger-scallion fried rice being absolute knockouts. Do yourself a favor and visit this stylish standout for excellent food, tasty drinks, and some of the best vibes on the island. read more

This place is a nice little hidden gem. Cocktails are fantastic and we'll balanced. On my visit I had a Mai Tai which was super refreshing and a nice spin on the cocktail and also had the down with the OPP which was super flavorful and bright. Definitely hoping this place takes off. It's set around a hotel pool. I would definitely consider staying at the hotel because this place is here. Definitely check it out if you are hanging around the beach and need a great cocktail. read more

If the food wasn't overpriced I would give it a better rating. The curry sandwich had way too much arugula, and the sandwich was bland and had no fries. For 20$. Not only these issues but the app did not come out until 10 minutes after the entrees. The main issue I had was it was my girlfriends birthday and put a note saying to put a candle in the dessert. Not only did the dessert (Carmel turnover) come out 30 minutes after but it tasted microwaved without a mention of her birthday. For 14$ I expected better. I think they bank on their ambience for bringing in customers and not their food. I would go back again with friends for a drink, but would not recommend for food. read more

Hidden gem!! This place is tucked away in a not so busy part of Waikiki. They renovated the hotel and made a focal point out of the pool to make it into a 50's - 60's style oasis. It's brilliant. We started on the swings at the bar. So. Much. Fun! Fête is one of the best restaurants in Hawai'i, so when I heard Heyday was the sister restaurant of Fête, I knew everything would be on point, and on point they were! The service, cocktails, atmosphere, and food were all amazing!! We had the vegan lumpia (Mango ketchup!!), B.O.L.T (MUST order this!), and Steak Diane (OMG)! Mango ketchup with the lumpia was winnahz! B.O.L.T., with smoked ono...I'm still dreaming about it! And Steak Diane with sautéed mushrooms and a simple arugula salad was perfect!!! Thank you, Heyday! It was the best Anniversary Dinner! read more

unfortunately was unable to try any food or drinks at this establishment due to the abysmal treatment of customers by a staff member. simply started moving an empty chair to a nearby table in order to join friends when a bartender rushed over & demanded to know where the chair was being taken... and reprimanded that we should have asked to move the unused EMPTY chair. did not identify himself as a staff member before becoming aggressive & refused us service when we got defensive (only after being run up to & confronted). this man was absurd, would not recommend to anyone visiting bc you will be made to feel unwelcome. read more

Sadly I hoped I could give it a better review but since moving from the downtown venue to Waikiki I…read morejust couldn't. Located in a hotel called The Romer on Nāhua Street in Waikiki off of Kuhio (closer to Ala Wai Canal) it is a smallish unpretentious looking building on Diamond Head side of Nahua. They have valet stand in front and validate parking for up to 3 hours. The valet wasn't very friendly when we walked towards him and usually they hold the door open but this one did not. We realize he's probably not part of Lei Stand staff but it doesn't make a good first impression. Walk into the lobby and directly to your left is the Lei Stand. It is brightly neon but dark if that makes sense, and very small. If you're a fan of when it used to be on Bethel St downtown then you'll be disappointed with this venue. No view to be had, dark drapes cover the windows (we were there at 6:00 pm) and no cute little lanai or garden. Tiny tables either high tops or rounds - maybe 10 total and a small bar. There was one tiny corner booth. The lost star was for this set up but also another lost star for NO MUSIC. Music is such an important part of a place especially a bar so we were disappointed and appalled there was only silence. Bartender said the music was "broken" so we turned on our phones to get something on our table. Then two girls brought in something to light the place up with some tunes so that helped. The final lost star was it is called The Lei Stand yet there wasn't a lei stand inside the place. When we asked the bartender where it was he didn't even know what a lei was. Then we explained to him and he said it is in the hotel lobby but you have to go to front desk to let them know you wish to purchase one. Another disappointment. Thank goodness I bought her a lei from downtown in case they didn't have any. The good stars ... Star 1 goes to the drink menu and how delicious they tasted. "Rub up on my belly" was beautifully prepared and so delicious I had to have another one lol I mean how could I refuse a second guava jam infused Tito's vodka??? Bartender prepared with cute little garnish and an ice stick to keep it cold! He was very nice and took good care of us. My friend opted for the "Clifton's Curse" - yes there's a back story to this drink- and enjoyed the cognac, absinthe, bitters and sherry concoction! Ono! Star 2 goes to the food or "nibbles" as they call it. Taro chips and crack dip were yum and a nice handful of chips not too much and not too little. Hurricane fries - to die for! Plenty of furikake, parmigiano reggiano and spicy aioli. The girls who brought our food were very nice and made sure we had what we needed to enjoy, bringing us waters too. They also had a smash burger for $25 but we had dinner rez later so didn't want to indulge but it looked good. It might be cute if you wanted to do a private party here and I noticed a room across with a beautiful large table set up for a private dinner - not sure if part of hotel or bar.

As this place has it in the name we assume this one would be the best but we had to experience it ourself. Outside of the Royal Hawaiian hotel nestled in the beach, you'll find a beach bar under tons of pink um fellas. You can curl up at the bar or grab a table! We grabbed a seat at the bar and were immediately greeted with some refreshing water and provided a menu! As you would expect they had a handful of Mai Tais to choose from! We stuck with the original. At first I thought it was too sweet and without alcohol. Boy J was wrong: it was spot on! Full volume! Worth the 21 dollars!!! Great service from the staff made it an even better experience!!! Cheers!

Once inside, you're greeted with a clean, intimate space, low lighting, and moody vibes. Every cocktail we tried was creative, flavorful, and deliciously strong--definitely drinks you want to sip and enjoy! Heyday Bar is a hidden gem in Waikiki, located inside the retro White Sands Hotel. The vibe is super relaxed with a cool, tropical feel -- think string lights, lush plants, and even swing seats at the bar. The cocktails are amazing: fresh, creative, and not too sweet. Zack our bartender was really nice and the drinks were perfect for a warm Waikiki day. It's a great spot to hang out and enjoy the music, or have a laid-back date night. If you're in Waikiki and want a fun, stylish bar away from the crowds, Heyday is definitely worth checking out. read more

The food here is bad, it's almost like they took certain items like frozen pizza from the Safeway grocery store and just heated it up in the kitchen type of a thing. It's not that it doesn't sound good on the menu because on the menu it does sound like it's going to be good, but it's the quality is giving tourist trap and all you can eat cheap Vegas restaurant vibes. The ambience is OK it's a bit rundown, but you do have a nice view of the marina. The service is actually quite good. The waitress was extremely friendly and personable the bartender even the kitchen staff are all friendly and cheery. But what it comes down to is the sticky floors and the old tables and the downright low quality food - so overall this place gets one star because the food was edible and one additional star because the service was great.
