Better Boy burger, tater tots, and an ice cold local beer. Perfect.

Is there a better kind of hamburger beef than Avril's? I don't think so. And making that beef into a Frisch's Big Boy replicant that is good to scarf down, add hot tater tots cooked just right and an ICE cold Rhinegeist House Cat Pils, all of which is served quickly and with a great bit of conversation, and that is all that matters. Home town good. Parking in the lot next door, plenty of tables in and out. Hard to beat!! Cozy, diner-like ambiance and wonderful service.

Heyday delivered. Although smaller than expected, the burger was tasty and full of flavor. I don't recall requesting "no tomato." Next time I'll make sure to check the food before departing. The fries were really good, too. Nice work Heyday! I'll be back.

Looking for a new smash burger spot? Head over to Heyday, just a 5-minute drive from the University of Cincinnati! They're serving up juicy, flavorful burgers with crispy, golden fries that hit the spot every time. The price of two burgers and one fries was pretty steep just a heads up. They also automatically add tip if dining in. The inside does have plenty of seating though. They don't have a designated parking lot but there's a good amount of street parking and a lot nearby.

Great place to come grab a smash burger! A cute place in Walnut Hills. The service was fast and personable. They really give you that crispy outside of the burger while it being juicy on the inside. They have lots of toppings and options to create your own burger. The price wasn't too bad but wish the burger came with fries and not to order as a side. I will be back again for my next smash burger craving!

Bringing this one back up. Had a solid to go order this evening, that was cooked quickly and correctly. The pricing felt more consistent with the quality, particularly because inflation has increased pricing everywhere else and these remained flat. Overall, the food was good and I'm happy I gave them another try.

House burger and side of fries

Heyday delivers on being a no frills smashburger. No more, no less. The restaurant is plainly decorated, but clean and on-brand with their burger joint brand. Service is great, but importantly they charge a 20% fee if you dine-in. We ordered the House burger and a side of fries to-go and it took about 5 minutes. The cashier offered us a drink for free since we effectively ordered a combo meal, which was appreciated. The soda fountain has craft orange cream, black cherry soda, and root beer; we tried the orange cream soda which was delicious but could have been more carbonated. The house burger is a double smash burger with american cheese, shredded lettuce, diced onions, and house sauce served on an untoasted potato-style bun for $11. We both took a bite and had the same immediate reaction: it tasted exactly like a Big Mac. And when you look back at that ingredient list, it is basically identical to the Big Mac. Part of the burger was nicely smashed with some crisp lacy edges, but the other 75% of the meat just tasted like a basic burger. The fries are fried in beef tallow and seasoned nicely with salt and coarse pepper for $4.50. They have a nice outer crunch and tender inside. There is a slightly beefy taste to them from the tallow, but it is subtle. The fries are good, but you don't get a lot (we had exactly 7 fries before taking that picture as we walked home, since we didn't want to pay the 20% dine in fee). Overall, we don't have any big complaints about Heyday but we also don't have anything to rave about. The burger and fries are good but the meal costs $15.50. On top of that, the 20% dine in fee is annoying to say the least. It is always nice to support local business, but when comparing this to our favorite chain burger places (i.e. Five Guys) there is nothing exceptional about Heyday. It was fine, but we're in no hurry to go back, especially if we're picking up the tab.

BEEF TALLOW FRIES!?! I have been searching for a place to buy fries made with beef tallow and I recently saw hey days instagram post about their fries. I had to get there! We were so happy to discover how much better beef tallow fries taste compared to their vegetable oil fried counterparts, we have started making our own beef tallow fries at home! We ordered fries with a side of special sauce (highly recommend) and two smash burgers! We were impressed and cannot wait to go back!

Wow what a pleasant find. Wonderful flavorful smash burgers and the tots are tasty too.

Great smash burgers and the loaded fries - chef's kiss! Kid friendly, efficient and warm service, and great music.

East Walnut Hills has some of my favorite places to eat, and Heyday is no exception. Their simple menu and take on the smash burger is one that is worth the trip for. It was a little pricey for two burgers and sides, but very delicious. I loved the tots, but you get way more fries as a side, so pick based on your level of hunger. The restaurant is tiny, but they do takeout orders if you don't want to stay. They also have free parking next to the building - just look for the signs in the lot! Service was good, though a little slow due to the dinner rush.

But good burger and chicken sandwich. But it is expensive compared to other burger places. The staff is super nice!

Best smashed burger in town. Fries and chicken also amazing. Loved the classic float. And of course the pie slices are still A+.

It was good, but nothing crazy special and a bit pricy for the size in my opinion. My friend ordered the same but with half chicken salad, half egg salad--which I wish I did to try both! However, the worker who helped us (he started two weeks ago!) was exceedingly nice and helpful with recommendations. I think they're actually more known for their pickles (cool to see they also offer fermentation classes) so I'd be interested in trying their Pickle Boat and some cold salads next time. (Also wish my sandwich came with a pickle!) There is both interior and exterior patio seating and lots of pig-themed decor throughout the store. This wouldn't be a regular spot for me because of the price-to-portion size ratio, but I would be excited to come again to try more of their menu.

Only thing is I wish they could make it gluten free. I got the Mira bowl in a kid size portion and had boiled eggs as an add on. Perfect portion! The bartender recommended the smaller size since I was getting waffles and I'm glad she made that suggestion. Lavender latte with oatmilk was light and delicate. Just what I was looking for. Nothing was too sweet and I enjoyed everything. The inside had a nice airy feel to it. They have a cute little kids corner filled with books and fun stuff for the little ones to stay busy while waiting on meals. They close at 3 so I recommend enjoying it for brunch/lunch!

Being visitor from VA Beach, I asked what's the recommended dish, the server suggested omelette. But I wasn't in the mood for omelette so I saw shakshuka. I tried their Green Goddess version that has spinach (instead of tomato sauce) and feta. The food is a solid 3. I also ordered the Dubai Chocolate latte. It was a 3 as you taste more the milk than the chocolate syrup. I also got their chocolate chip banana bread.

Something that's nicer than a franchise restaurant, but not so fancy that you feel like you need to dress up? This place nailed it. The perfect place to go to a sit down dinner that feels really quaint and nice. The decor is very cozy and welcoming. Rustic with painted brick walls and wooden tables. Very inviting. Food was great. There was something for everyone. We had a vegetarian with us who had lots of options. I had a really great cheeseburger and tater tots. The only reason I am giving this place four stars instead of five is the service. The host (or greeter) was not welcoming at all. Seemed a little indifferent, borderline inconvenienced. The server was friendly, but certainly not five star worthy. Very informal, almost seemed tired. Didn't engage when we told her it was our first time here or when we told her we were celebrating. Way too casual and relaxed for this type of restaurant. Fix this piece of the equation and wow - we will be regulars!

Hostess and wait staff were really nice and timely, no waiting issue as others had mentioned. Had the s'mores espresso martini and hubby had the specialty old fashion, both were delicious! Food was good too! The pimento+biscuits, so yum! Poutine was good, gravy was a little sweet for me, fries were awesome. Whipped ricotta was just so-so though. Egg Benedict/poached dishes were well done, the Uova dish was good and unique. chicken and waffles were really good as was the burger (got it medium, was good decision). Looking forward to coming back and trying the dinner menu plus more cocktails.
