Had they told me the price upfront from day one, I would have moved forward but their behavior seemed shady so I decided to not move forward because they lost my trust. I should have known it was a red flag when they tried to charge me $120 for a panoramic xray for the consultation visit. Xrays are covered under my insurance, but they're saying "somehow it's not covered" and I said oh don't worry, I already have an xray I took a month prior from my actual dentist and sent them the X-rays via email so they had no choice but to accept and remove the xray charge. I have the BEST dental insurance and somehow my treatment plan quote went from $653 to $770 to take out two top impacted wisdom teeth with laughing gas. Katie notified me by phone of the price increase a day before my surgery which is super unprofessional. Why did you wait literally a day to tell me before my surgery when I scheduled this appointment two weeks in advance. They had my insurance information the whole time. Also, IV sedation is covered under my insurance. I called my insurance directly and they said yes it is 80% covered for impacted wisdom teeth, but when I called back to confront Katie, a soft spoken gentleman picked up the phone and told me since they were not taking three or more wisdom teeth out, it would not qualify for iv sedation. They never even provided a predetermination to my insurance to even see IV sedation would get rejected so they were entirely lazy on their part. They pushed for me to get nitrous oxide (laughing gas) which is $300 out of pocket since laughing gas is not covered under my insurance. My family are health care professionals themselves and they advised I do not move forward because the front office tactics seem predatory to get the most money out of you. Dr. Le is a really nice doctor. However, I'm gonna follow my instincts because their office staff ruined this experience for me.

ZERO PAIN! ZERO DOWN TIME! Dr. LEE is WONDERFUL! The last molar on the upper left side of my…read moremouth was broken. I needed to have it pulled and I put it off, off, off. I knew that I needed to do it but I was scared. The last time I had teeth pulled was when I had my wisdom teeth removed and that was not fun. I finally had my consultation with Dr. Lee and he discussed my options and was helpful, informative and reassuring. The day arrived and I was first in at 8:00 am. I always thought I'd have to be "put under" to have teeth pulled (honestly, I wanted to but that's a pain too- that equals down time, no eating, etc) but NO! He had me inhale nitros oxide which numbs the mouth but I could still communicate with Dr. Lee. He was very calming and efficient. All I felt was a little pulling here and there but NO PAIN. Here's the magic: I was in my car, driving home at 8:31! WHAT? Yes! The numbing wore off, I had some gauze in my mouth for a few hours but by noon, I was back to normal. I took a Tylenol later in the day but that was the extent of my tooth extraction! If I had known how easy it was, I would have done it a lot sooner. That is the reason I'm writing this review. The procedure went by so quick! I did feel a little out of it after but there was absolutely no pain or discomfort. I had a consultation with a different dentist, but I felt a a bit uneasy about the treatment plan they suggested, so I wanted to get a second opinion from an oral surgeon. I came across Dr. Choyee's practice while searching for oral surgeons that accepted Delta Dental PPO and found positive reviews. Upon calling his office, I was grateful that they had availability later that week for a consultation & same day extraction. Even starting from the phone call, I already felt more at ease. The receptionists were all very knowledgeable and helped explain how my insurance would be applied and other things to expect. The day of the extraction, I was at the office for an hour in total (consultation + extraction). After taking a quick panoramic x-ray, I decided to go with local anesthesia and only felt mild pressure during the procedure. No stitches were needed and I was sent home with gauze & instructions to pickup a mouthwash from my local pharmacy. Overall, Dr. Choyee and his staff were kind, thorough, and made the process a lot less painless than anticipated.
