The employees here are friendly enough, but they seem to be so understaffed that everyone has to wait about an hour, in my experience. I picked up a car and waited about 50 minutes to be helped, then when I dropped off I waited about another 40. They do not answer the phones very often because the employees are oversaturated with customers, and while I feel for them, I was still inconvenienced by the lack of staffing and so were many other people I saw and spoke to. There is also a fee of $500 that is added at the end if you pay with debit, which is reimbursed after you return the car.. I'm not sure if that is standard procedure for car rental places but it came as an unwanted surprise for me. This review is primarily negative due to the long wait times, though. read more

Saw this place had bad reviews so was hesitant renting from here. But they had a better deal here than other locations to where I live. When picking up the car, there was only one agent and got there at 8am for my rental scheduled at 8am but the doors were closed but then waited a bit and it was opened but another person had beat me to it. So had To wait until they were done. More people can after me so I'm sure it took them a while to get serviced. For me, probably left with key in hand around 845. No problem with getting a car and satisfied with the car given to me. Only thing is, it wasn't Cleaned Up. The interior you can tell was not vacuumed since the last person who rented it. But I guess I can't say much, since I returned it and I know for sure they had to vacuum it for the next person. Hey we went camping to sequoia, what'd you expect. Returning was just as easy and quick, well once it was my turn. Got there a little after 8am but this time there were two agents and both were helping two customers ahead of me. So was there for a half hour. between waiting and then being helped. So can't complain, and plan on renting from this location in the future. read more

I've rented here twice and yes, they are understaffed but they do a great job. The one thing I noticed is that quite a few people didn't have reservations and if they did they just weren't prepared to help things move faster. Have your email pulled up on your phone or printed out so they can see your confirmation number and have your license and credit card ready also. It took probably 15 mins to confirm, get the keys and get out the door. I've rented nice cars with no problems and they are always clean. Ewww just no on this place or Hertz in general. The card had a tire light that wouldn't go off even with air put in and the forward collision light that kept coming on. (I have pictures) Called customer service the same day and they said no problem just bring it back Monday since the location was already closed and no additional charge since there is no night drop. It was supposed to be a one way rental but we weren't about to drive that car across the desert. Customer service guy says oh it's all good in the computer No issue. All the notes are there for Monday. Bring it back. Yet here I am an hour later and the employee has to call the general number to some lady not even in the same country to help look up the contract to close the contract on her end. Employee isn't able to close it here. So I'm sitting in front of the guy in Hertz who basically is not able to do anything at all. She's in another country while we are on hold with their terrible hold music forever so she can look at the chat information for the case number I gave her. It was shitty at pick up. A bunch of people in here and two employees, restarting computers, it's not the employees fault. It's a Hertz issue. These guys should look for new jobs with a better company. I had a great experience at this Hertz location in Temecula. They had a huge variety of cars and the prices are comparable to other competitors. Maria was amazing even though they were understaffed she was able to do it all and get us our rental quick and easy. I highly recommend this Hertz location. I called today and was told by the guy that answered that he was busy with a customer and would call me back. He took my information and ended the call. I waited and the guy never called me back. Worst place ever ! Waited for hours after calling for hours and being told they have no staff. This is a reoccurring issue. They leave you waiting for hours saying their lobby is full and you need to call back or they will call you. So you drive here after hours of no returned call only to wait HOURS more ! No restroom and no amenities while you wait not even water ! This place should be closed down as they cannot even handle a handful of paying customers. read more

Hertz gave me an unsafe vehicle. Got a flat tire within an hour of taking the vehicle. Office stated they would talk to manager to get the vehicle picked up. Vehicle stayed at the location for a few days until they called me to let mw know that vehicle was not picked up. Called office and another employee told me that I needed to take care of the situation. Left messages for Maria Ola manager to call me. No calls received. Asked for Area managers phone and Michael told me they didn't have his number only email. I sent multiple emails to both manager and area manager but no response for a couple days. The area manager Hootan stated that I signed the document an that i needed to take care of the vehicle pick up. I called to get the vehicle picked up and was told there would be fees for the TOW I did explain that I would not pay for it. Area manager emailed back that they would refund the tow, I asked how many rental days they would charge since it should be zero since the car was unsafe to drive BUT he told me he did not know that another department takes care of that. I requested the phone number of who to speak to BUT still waiting on the response... I will update after everything is finalized Update 6/27 Emailed area manager Hootan 6/24 three times to get amount of days charged but stated another department takes care of it. No answer yet! I had a reservation at this location Temecula, CA the Manager Maria refuse to honor the pre- reservation, she had a very [nasty attitude towards me], I personally felt she was very [discriminatory towards me], do to my race, moreover I have had issues previously with her, in the past; my conclusion I have since made a formal complaint with Hertz executive office, and I plan to write directly to Hertz CEO Gil West personally to make sure he's completely aware of how this manager is running this particular location. read more

This location is criminally understaffed for how busy it is. I've been a business customer of Hertz (Presidents Circle) and other rental car companies for years and I've never been to a location that so consistently has a waiting area full of customers that sit for 90 minutes or more while one frazzled employee tries to answer phone calls, handle rentals, returns and cleaning cars all at the same time. Whoever is in charge here should be embarrassed. As I sit here typing this there are 9 customers waiting in line while each rental takes roughly 10 - 15 minutes to check out and one single employee doing everything. Do not come here. This was my first time trying to rent thru Hertz, as I usually rent with Enterprise, and it will be my last attempt. I experienced the most rude, unprofessional, discriminatory service I have ever received. I booked my appointment online for Saturday for a 12pm pickup. Now, I was unaware that the location actually closed at 12pm as the website let me make my booking with no notification AND I never received a phone call confirming my appointment, as I typically do with Enterprise, that notified me of my appointment time and the conflicting store closing time. I arrived at 12:03pm and was refused service or entrance into the building. I spoke with an individual by the name of Daniel who was very rude and condescending. I informed him I was unaware of their closure time and asked for grace since I was only 3 minutes behind my scheduled pickup. He refused and proceeded to tell me that I could escalate and that the only thing that would happen is I would "probably get a free rental". After a long conversation, one which probably took longer than if he just allowed me to proceed with a rental, a young lady with her daughter I assume walked up asking for assistance. Daniel told her to wait, I assume he wanted to wait until he believed I had left, and then had Mike come out and help. Not only was she helped but she was allowed in the building at precisely 12:29pm (photos attached for proof). I will be escalating my complaint to the district level as I strongly believe my treatment was racially motivated. Sorry service, their focus on selling you extra car insurance for your rental is outrageous. They priced the extra insurance at $10.99 per day but when it was time to check out the insurance price went up to $25 dollars per day! To top it off the the car was not even clean or ready which added 45 minutes of waiting time to my appt ..... this place is no-go!!! Lack of efficiency is the hallmark of this company ..... If I could give them one star I would. Arrived and it was so crowded people were out the door. One lady was trying her best she was actually very nice but the other guy disappeared for over 30 minutes to put gas in someone's car and there is a gas station next door... I rented a SUV which a Buick encore to me is not a SUV I was thinking something a little bigger. It can dirty on the inside and out because they didn't clean it prior too and wanted me to wait for that which I was already waiting over 30 minutes and didn't have time to wait longer. Now for the big reason why I'm writing this review is because they are charging me for a $10 toll fee I paid through the tolls and are saying my dates don't match which I only had that car a few days so what other dates could it be??? Unfortunately the worst rental car experience ever. I walked in right on time for my rental reservation. Ended up being 11 people in the lobby with one employee who appeared to be in training. Another woman showed up and looked like she had come back from a break. She helped a few customers and then said she was going to clean my rental car to get it ready to go. The gentleman continued trying to help people but kept returning to ask her questions or make calls to clarify. At this point I have been here 55 minutes, the location is technically closer, and I am still waiting. Two other customers are in here waiting, including one whose reservation through Priceline is not showing up in the system. Update: total waiting time 70 minutes. The worst experience I have had a business in my life. We originally booked to take the car to another city to drop off. They then tried to convince us repeatedly for over 2 hours to take it back here. Insane. Not a single employee looked us in the eyes or polite in any sense. The employees were just blatantly rude & then we were charged & they refused to be transparent about the charges or even tell us we would be charged more that our original price until the very last second. I had a service rep and her name was Kyle and she basically hustled me. I rented the Tesla car and she informed me over and over that it was free charging. I kept asking her over and over and she kept saying free charging and unlimited miles. I have a charging port at my house but what's the point when you have free charging right? WRONG. Why inform someone that they don't have to pay when they actually do. So I got a bill for $352. Now she trying to cover her mistake by saying " I didn't have to add a card to the Tesla and they would bill me at the end of the rental" lol The representative lead Michael however is just as clueless. They know exactly what they saying and doing to customers. Then they play victim like you're trying to play them. I emailed the Manager Tanner and still no reply or anything. I didn't expect a full refund but at least some compensation on the bill. Kyle refuse to get on the phone with me because she knows she messed up. But I would say stand clear of this location. They don't even clean the car properly. When we got our car it was dirt every where. But this was nothing but a lesson learned. Check that bill before you walk out. I have been a hertz customer for many many years as a Gold Member, unfortunately hertz is not what it used to be. Service was terrible, extremely slow. If you are a gold or Diamond member expect to wait in line like everyone else, there is no pick up and go! This will unfortunately be my last rental with hertz. For YEARS I was a Hertz President Circle member and rented for business every week on my trips out of town. All I can say is stay away from this particular Hertz .... worst there is. I NEVER write reviews NEVER but in this case felt I just had to do it. I had a CONFIRMED rental agreement (credit card applied to it as well) but when I arrived for the car and waiting nearly an hour, I showed the only employee working in there my reservation number after which I was told they had no cars available and now were not honoring any more reservations. I asked what could they do for me and was rudely told "well nothing". I left after wasting an hour of my time waiting in the crowded lobby to get that "no cars" response. This is not the way to do business let alone maintain any customer loyalty. To add insult to the whole experience they even went so far as to charge me a "no show" fee after I showed up, showed my reservation and got the "no cars" treatment. I stopped by their office again asking to have the charge removed only to be told "not sure there is anything that we can do". Almost impossible to get anyone on the phone at Hertz to clear it up. If you have rented and got the "no cars" treatment you should look over your credit card statements to make sure they did not also charge you a "no show" fee. They did it to me so they will do it to others. Best of luck if you are so inclined to rent from there folks as there are other choices with really friendly staff not far down the road where I had to go after the turn away at Hertz. read more

5+ stars for the customer service of the people working there. All were doing their best and trying to help despite the archaic system Herz has. It's worse than Southwest's. It took the lady who was helping us, the one with the Texas hair, 6 tries to find our reservation. All the other employees had similar trouble. The blond guy with a ponytail should be recognized for his amazing way of making all of us annoyed customers laugh. Even those like us who weren't being helped by him. I had a shitty morning and his chit chat made me feel better. I wish it would have been appropriate to hug him! 0 stars for the company's policies and system. Their app doesn't work even though Herz says to use their app. Be aware: Herz overbooks. When we got there for our reservation, we were told that they were out of cars because the Herz company policy is to overbook. Luckily two cars were returned 30 minutes later. How is this business model acceptable that they allow someone to book a car, confirm a car is available and then go to pick it up and they have anything? No customer service, walked in and there were two people behind the counter, one employee was helping a customer but the other was just sitting there. Usually how customer service works is you greet people as they come in and say, "I'll be with you in a few minutes." Acknowledge the customers at least. After sitting for 5-10 plus minutes, one of the employees asked why we were here not really listening to our answer before walking into the back. Could care less we were there to rent a car. What should of taken a few minutes after the one employee helped another customer took an extended time. The male employee was extremely loud yelling "Super!" and creepy laughs, while talking to himself. One female customer came in after me and began looking at me after this employee was being awkward and weird. He then began signing the background music and talking out loud like he was at home in his bedroom. The female customer left and didn't come back. Oh man.... Please save your money and find somewhere else to rent a car! We came here to pick up our rental to drive to Arizona. Coming in, it literally felt like a set of Impractical Jokers. Two people out front with one computer each and a locked door with more people and the whole rest of the business in the back. We rented a mid-size and was brought a Ford Escape, so a little upgrade which was nice. But then Homegirl literally disappeared for 10 minutes to seemingly take the car in a circle because I know for a fact no sanitation precautions were done. Upon getting the car, scratches/dents all over, left over goo from a taken off sticker on the back window, overall pretty trashed exterior. The interior was noticeably vacuumed but definitely not wiped. Weird white chunky-like substance on the wheel and get this- the button to turn the AC fan higher was missing. We showed the man in the lobby but he wasn't the one that rented it out to us. He said he would upgrade us if he could but there were no other cars available. The woman who rented it to us came back from hiding in the back and played it off with "well it still works"... I've worked in rental before and if a whole ass (kinda important) button is missing it already deems the car not suitable to rent! The overall condition of the car was trash! Listen to the reviews on this place.... The people were nice but the vibe was weird. This location really needs to get their shit together! Picked up my rental on 9/21. Upon arrival there was only 1 attendant helping people. There was 1 person she was helping. I was the second person waiting then slowly but surely multiple people started showing up. I saw multiple people go in & out the back. I was hoping these were employees arriving to work or from break to assist her! Nope! Finally after 30 minutes and 5 + people were waiting, she called for help from the back and 2 guys came out to assist. So they were just chilling in the back? Hmm My next issue...I called on 9/22 to extend my rental until Saturday. As someone answered, they asked if I minded being on a brief hold. This brief hold was over 20 minutes. I finally hang up and called right back, and the girl from before said "oh there was a lot of people that needed to be helped in our lobby but how can I help you"...great so you kept another customer on hold for that long...cool! Lastly, I go to drop off my rental before they close on Saturday. Lobby is packed with people. The same girl does her speech of "if anyone is just dropping off I can take the keys and email you the receipt later". I go with this option, otherwise I'll be waiting around for forever. Guess what? It's Thursday, September 30th and still no receipt. Never had this experience with Enterprise. I'll stick with them going forward. read more

Okay this is our experience at this location. We had a Chevy equinox, 26mpg, clean an with no issues. Two agents, six customers. They were very polite, efficient. Honestly felt bad for them.
