Mitch is THE BEST!
My daughter and I recently rented a Hertz car in Dallas for a driving trip to St. Louis and Minneapolis. Unfortunately, the engine started to overheat just past Cedar Rapids on the 380. It was late in the afternoon and this was a VERY significant problem because we had to be in Rochester, MN that evening.
We called the Hertz emergency number - they were ZERO help. The operator said our car was "still under warranty" and that she would call a dealer to come by for us and test the car. If it was okay, we would be on our way. (If not, I guess Hertz would then exchange the car. Like that would be an acceptable resolution! NOT.) She put us on hold and disconnected us. We called back, got another person who said they would send a tow truck and that we would receive a call back with an estimated time of delivery. We never did. We got a tow truck only after an Iowa State Highway Patrolman stopped by.
So while we were sitting the dead car, we decided to call the nearest Hertz agencies to see if they could help. No one had any cars... except Mitch at the Cedar Falls location. Not only did he say he would help, he offered to stay after their 6:00pm closing if it would help us.
I called Mitch SEVERAL times while we were waiting because getting to his place by 6:00pm was going to be really close. Mitch assured us that he had our backs and would be there for us.
When the tow truck arrived, we simply had him take the car to the Hertz location in Cedar Falls where we met Mitch. I can't tell you enough how GRATEFUL we were to Mitch and his team for waiting for us, for having a car ready for us and, most importantly, for getting us on our way again.
We arrived in Rochester a few hours late but we made it work. Mitch saved us and my daughter and I THANK HIM for his efforts that went WAY beyond the call of duty.
Hertz is VERY lucky to have someone like Mitch as their branch manager. I hope they appreciate him as much as we do. read more
