With all smiles they hit me into a car within a kind smile and took care of everything in less than ten minutes I was driving off. My worries were over and I was on my way. So I decided I would book again over a week in advance. I scheduled my pick at 4pm. Only because that's when I was able to get a ride to pick up the rental. Got texts before my pick up date and morning of that my car was reserved and would be held. Upon arrival no one was at the counter so I waited. The dollar rep came in and asked if I needed help and when I told him I was here to pick up he got very serious. I wanted to make small talk and asked if he was Henry. He responded very rudely "yeah why" and I just let him know he helped me last time. He didn't answer after that. Basically told me they didn't have a car for me unless I wanted a van or sprinter. I told him no I didn't need that much room. He proceeded to say he didn't have anything available unless he calls his Simi valley store which closed in 30 minutes. The reason why was the cars he expected back didn't come back. But my reservation was for 4pm does he not have access to the daily rentals? They could've planned and asked for the other store to bring a car if they knew none came back. Anyways I ended up with no car although I reserved one. I guess reserving a car doesn't mean anything. I had to walk to the Avis counter next door and get rental through them since it was late and almost all rental places were about to close. The lot looked full so I assume those were all Avis cars. It ended up costing me more and pushed my trip departure as well. Not sure if I will rent from here again but if you do call to confirm before going in.

They do not check their cars for the most basic of things, even safety. Check your tires before leaving, as I got a car with a flat and other tires not inflated properly. Of course by the time I really started to notice I was hours away, and they will not help! Another time the car had a piece of the mudflap with screws from a prior renter's mishap stuck in the wheel well, rubbing against the tire. Again, I did not notice until well underway, thinking that the car was just a cheap noisy one. They do not fill up their cars with gasoline, and will tell you at check out that it is full. MAKE SURE TO CHECK before leaving. They do not clean their cars! Unbelievably disgustingly dirty. I spent half an hour cleaning it before I could use it.

Then they said they need to go wash a car and left me here in line without checking me out yet. As they walk out they recommend I call an Uber. The line continues to grow as I wait. 4 others in line now behind me and still no one here at the counter. The Herz representative finally comes back and after a few more minutes, starts to help me. "Did somebody promise you a ride home? I replied "last time they told me I can get a ride when I drop it off". She replied "unfortunately, on the weekends,, I'm by myself". Then she asked me if I knew how many miles the odometer reads. I said No Within 30 seconds from saying that, she starts asking the person behind me what name THEIR reservation is under and starts to look that up. Whenever I rent I use my credit cards insurance which is completly acceptable. I have used this insurance for years. My siblings do too. The probelm is, I always get pushback. They always question me about it and give me a hard time. Which is, and they know it, fraudulent behavior. The funny thing is my siblings (who are white) never get pushback!! Just me. Last time I rented I even presented my policy paperwork. I still got pushback! "What, no policy number?" The attendant asked me. My sister-in-law was a manager at a car rental place for 10 years. She told me unfortunately they are taught to give brown and black people a hard time and to really push their insurance on them because they most likely will not know any better. I cannot tell you how annoying it is to have to deal with this every single time I rent. I will never buy the agencies scammy insurance and they really need to understand that people are not as dumb as they think.

My husband wanted to extend to 4 days rental. They told me the cost $324. I said how could 1 day $68.5 and time 4 that comes to $324? That Dmitri told us the price appears on their computer like that, we take it or not, thats it. He said the price on different days, the rate would be different. I said fine, give me 1 min and i would go online to book the new booking right away with 4 days rental period then. And the price comes out still $274 as i said for total 4 days included tax and fee. That was what costco website said. And they still told us now the total would be $292. I asked why? The final price we got supposed to be the price we got confirmed that said included tax and fee. Dmitri talked to my face that "you guys always brought troubles, i had no choice that dont let you guys rent our cars, i must take u guy, so you want it or not, thats it". I was shocked. Firstly, who does he think he is that he could talk to customers like that? I have no right to ask why the price is different than what our confirmation said? Secondly, we came to give them business 2-3times per month. The "trouble" that he talked about, that 2 times in a while before, we booked online "full-sized car", and when we came, one time, they gave us the sport car and asked us must take it or have nothing for us. That was why i was mad and argued that was not the option that we chose. If they didnt have fullsize avai, they should put out of stock online and let us choose another location, not like pushing us take whatever they want. We called enterprise and were told to take the vehicle to ANY enterprise location and they would swap it out . We went to the Oxnard vta blvd location and got zero help ! And after a brief discussion FRANKIE AND ADRIAN stepped in and without much delay swapped the vehicle for one on their lot and we were back on the road again! Picked up the car, they didn't go over any additional coverage options.... The last day I needed the car the tire went flat, I called and spoke to Helen who was completely rude and lacked compassion, she told me additional coverage should've been offered to me and that I would need my coverage to change the flat to spare. I had my insurance change it. I called enterprise corporate to tell them about my experience... (spoke with someone from another country) they told me they would inform the location I would bring it back with quarter tank of gas and not full due to the inconvenience... dropped off the car and a gentleman with glasses and blonde hair told me he would call me the next day to discuss Helen's behavior towards me, he never called and I never got my deposit back... no one answers the phone either
