HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND. I reserved a Nissan Rogue or Similar vehicle on APRIL 16, 2025 for a pick-up on MAY 22, 2025 9am at Moreno Valley, CA to return to Oceanside, CA May 23, 2025 9am. I come to the office[difficult to locate BTW, since they just rented out a small office INSIDE a Dodger dealership. I arrived at 8:55am [already checked-in online at 8am BTW to pick-up at 9am]. Ramon and Crystal were the customer service reps at the desk. I dealt with Crystal. Apparently, they didn't have the vehicle I reserved and Ramon attempted to offer a Tesla or a Jeep. However, I requested a Nissan Rogue or similar because I have a car seat, stroller and about 7 luggages. If I wanted a smaller vehicle or a "luxury" vehicle I would've reserved the vehicle. After they realized it would be a one-way rental, they didn't want to offer a jeep[which they said would be an upgrade, but I didn't want that, as the cargo space would be small]. Crystal had blatantly mentioned usually they don't rent-out vehicles they don't want to lose from one-way rentals[I don't think she was supposed to say this casually]. Anyways, a lady comes in to drop-off a vehicle. Crystal and Ramon was glad as apparently it would be the vehicle they will provide to me. I thought it would be THE Nissan Rogue or Similar I reserved. I waited for approx 20 mins as they need to wash the vehicle[Crystal didnt even mention this, i had to ask if they were washing the vehicle and only then they mentioned it] Btw-i didn't ask the type of vehicle, as I figured it be the Rogue or Similar. After that approx 20 mins wait, Crystal walked me to the vehicle and it was a Trailblazer. I told Crystal, this vehicle is too small to fit the car seat, stroller and 7 luggages. Crystal said it is the same class, cargo etc. I told her, I know the difference between a Rogue and this trailblazer as I have driven/rented a Rogue before. I told her, just refund me the rental. We go back to the office, and Ramon wanted to see the email reservation. I showed it to him. He proceeded to educate me how the Trailblazer is under the same class as the Rogue. In my mind, don't educate me, as I know the difference in regards to the cargo space etc. I didn't want to argue, so I just nodded and waited until they refund me. Crystal texted someone from the higher-up, I guess because they couldn't cancel it on their end, apparently. Ramon mentioned, they will cancel it on their end and I could leave as it would take a while. Again, this was around 9am-10am. I left, and around 1pm, I received an email from Hertz saying I picked up the vehicle and to return the vehicle on the reserved details. I called corporate/customer service and Vina told me my rental was never cancelled and apparently, Ramon and Crystal NEVER CANCELLED MY RESERVATION. Vina was kind enough to cancel the reservation. This is approximately at 2pm on the same-day. So, even if you reserve MORE THAN a MONTH in advance for a vehicle you CLEARLY WANT, they will provided these options to you on the day of: [A] 'luxury' (tesla) to appeal you [B] a clearly smaller type of vehicle that you know is TOTALLY DIFFERENT from the vehicle you CLEARLY reserved and TRULY wanted. I know my vehicles and I don't respect that fact that they attempted to give me a damn Trailblazer and explaining/educating it is the same as a Rogue. GTFO. DO NOT DEAL WITH HERTZ...AT LEAST with this location and people. ON A GREAT NOTE, I went to ENTERPRISE in Banning, CA[few mins away] and the Assistant rental manager[Brooke] provided a Rogue and CHEAPER PRICE upon reserving and arrival AT THE LOCATION. Check my review on their page for this! AGAIN- DO NOT RENT WITH THIS HERTZ location. And if you cancel your reservation, and if Ramon or Crystal said they will cancel on their end, please call The corporate/customer service to confirm. read more

Adam, the manager Perla and Crystall were not helpful while trying to get a car. They will waste your time while trying to book a ride for you from your location to the actual facility. Then they say they can't do anything about not communicating with the member about having to switch location because they don't have a car at the location you should pick up from. They emailed me that I had to pick up in sunny mead but then try sending me to the wrong location. Perla was the only one that clearly spoke to me and told me what was going on but then said that they can't schedule a ride to get the car. Crystall was the one that didn't explain anything to me and didn't tell me that I would have to go to a different location to pick up the car. Wasting my time and efforts. read more

I had a reservation for 5:30 yesterday, got there at 545 and the employee said too bad they're closed. I said the customer service said there was a 2hr grace period, he said "do you stay over after you worked all day, really like I'm gonna stay". VERY RUDE!! I did not get a car!!! read more

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. The lack of accountability and communication made this experience the worst. My 2025 car is at the dealer for issues so I already have been without a car for 4 days. I was finally given a rental and sent to Hertz, expenses paid by the dealership. When I arrived, they had a car set up but, it was an electrical car. I have never been in an electrical car, let alone driven one. I am use to the original gas and go type. I asked if they may switch it out and they stated a car wasn't available. They told me I may come in the next day to switch it out since they will have more selections. I am here now, and they told me no. I was in shock, but more so disappointed in the managers attitude. I don't even know where to charge an electrical car or even know how it works. The fact that they lack the communication and customer service to serve is the most devastating factor. Adam, the Hertz manager, needs to learn the value of customer service and quality of service. I do want to thank Ramon for helping me set up my online account to charge the vehicle. Your help was appreciated and warming. I will say that I never want to be in an electrical car again. If I could rate this place zero stars, I would because lord knows they don't even deserve the one.. They provided my mother with the absolute worst service I've ever witnessed. They basically tried to force her to stay in a car she felt unsafe in 4 days into a 7 day reservation or she wouldn't get her money back. Not to mention the outrageous holds put on her payment due to false advertisement regarding the acceptance of ApplePay. They basically made her pay for the same reservation twice with NO insurance. Don't even get me started in the condition of the car! Bad brakes, bad transmission, weak AC and it smelled like the employees use the car for their smoke breaks. Had to get a rental car while my car was getting serviced, so Moss Bros. Sent me over. I was the only person in line while a customer was in front of me finishing up, took over an hour to get keys in hand. There were a lot of employees sitting around while car was being "disinfected" so when confronted about time they said the car had to go down the street to get cleaned first as if they don't prepare their cars until somebody comes into rent them. One gentleman was very helpful and tried calling to see where the car was (he was the one positive thing about this place). When time to return car my gps showed it would arrive 5 minutes after closing. So I called in to say I would arrive as soon as I could to which Renee's response was "if we are here, we are here we like to get out as fast as we can". I ended up making it in before closing, but after waiting patiently for over an hour to rent the car it was frustrating to not have the same reciprocated as a customer. read more

Prior to reserving a tesla model 3, I called the branch to confirm that the car would be charged to 100% at pickup. Upon pickup today at my 10:00 appointment time, the car was not charged to 100% and was instead at 70%. When asked the manager why the car was not at 100% he rolled his eyes, gave me a little back and forth with a childish attitude and the manager stated he was in fact not obligated to charge the car further than 70% and that its not his problem, like man youre working at a car rental place, relax its not that serious. The plan was to pay extra for the full charge at dropoff so we didnt have to stop and charge the damn car. Needless to say we cancelled the reservation after the emotional manager threw his little fit. Go anywhere else and save the headache. read more

Their website prompted that the reservation was eligible for local pick up ( they would drop off the car to our house since we were within the mile range). In the email confirmation it was also written out that we had requested local pick up and that their branch would be reaching out to confirm details. We never received a call. On the day of the rental we called them, only for them to say they do not offer this service ( even though their website said that they did). This placed a major delay and confusion in our trip. The branch manager does not have his phone number listed on his business card and it is just the general customer service line. The counter girl was nice, but everything was beyond her control. I had to wait 1/2 a hour to even see a hertz service rep in an empty office because they were both out of the office during office hours? Wow! These people are terrible. I have been fighting with Hertz for a month now. They allowed me to schedule my rental pick up for a time they close (I did not know this is when they closed. I assumed they were open as it allowed me to schedule). When I got to the rental location the lady was still there but told me they were closed. I called their corporate office that day and cancelled my reservation for a refund. They told me it would take 7-10 business days to receive my money. I called after the 10th business day as I didn't receive my money. This person tells me that they didn't process the refund as the first person didn't cancel the reservation only requested a refund. He informed me I would have to wait another 7-10 business day. Yesterday was the 10th business day and of course my money was not there. I call now and spoke to a "supervisor". He tells me he is escalating this now so whoever can be in contact with my bank. I tell him I think it's crazy that they haven't given me my money and also that not one person has offered any kind of compensation for my inconvenience. No I'm not just looking for something free, but after a month something should be offered at this point. He tells me he will note it on my account that I'm requesting compensation and will be handled after they talk to my bank. So basically that's a big f**k you, you're not getting anything. So disappointed in this entire thing. I have always rented from them in the past as they are the closest to my house but they definitely lost a costumer. I do not recommend. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I got a rental for my servicing and I should've read the reviews for this horrible place. The women running the front desk are rude, incoherent, incompetent con artists who lack, not only, communication with guests but even between themselves. They have to call everyone for everything to double check scratches to gas to mileage to complaints instead of just, I don't know, making systematic notes on customer files. THEY WILL TRY TO CONFUSE YOU WITH MIND GAMES. Not to mention that they overcharge and then try to backup their scam with inconsistent reasoning, and a baby voice. I mean, a calendar doesn't lie when you count the days of your rental, but for some reason somehow someway 8 hours equate to 24 hours, and 24 hours equate to 2 days? Even if you bring it back before it due, apparently they still count it as 2 days: the day before it's due, and the day it's due. Make it make sense. But only after you receive your complementary threat of bringing their already damaged car back. "Someone else may be paying for your car, but you *points finger in my face* better bring my car back without any problems..." excellent customer service skills, I love giving business to disrespectful people. And especially when they are trying to balance you sitting in their 2 by 2 cubicle, the person sitting on the opposite of the room, AND the person on the phone. Make sure you also take a video of allll of the vehicle cause they will try and accuse you of issues like any other rental company with 6 people working out of 2 cubicles. And take a picture of the gas tank, do not do these people any favors. Footmen we're nice, but not enough to make up for this terrible experience. Honestly, just close this store. I had to get a rental because my car was being worked on. It was right before closing and they put me in an Encore. I had my mask on and after I left I took off my mask only to be greeted with the nasty smell of cigarettes coming through the AC. I have severe asthma but they were already closed so I went home. Next day I called from work to complain and ask for another vehicle to be delivered. They told me they would not deliver a new vehicle but I had to take it to get exchanged. So I had to leave work early and drive to the Redlands office which is the one that they recommended me go to. That office is no longer there. So I ended up having to drive all the way to Ontario airport which is where they exchanged the vehicle. Unfortunately by the time I got to Ontario I was having a pretty bad asthma attack. I ended up having to takeoff two days of work and have high doses of steroids to help my breathing. If I ever have the choice of a rental car place again I will not choose Hertz. Not to mention the two days of sick leave the Urgent Care places me on. I think Hertz should compensate since I have to use PTO. Btw the Ontario Airport location's staff were very nice and helpful. read more

The staff was friendly and I got the Moss discount because my car was being serviced in the auto center. Upon returning the vehicle it only took about 5 minutes or so and I was on my way. My car was damaged and I was forced to go through them with my insurance and ALL the car options they had they either told me was in the shop or they didn't have or they needed to get a mechanical clearance for. So I was stuck with ONE car option . Let's not mention they were supposed to pick me up from the location my car was getting fixed at and left me there for 1:30 mins after I told her how long I would wait . So I ended up having someone come pick me up because I didn't want to wait any longer . Then upon returning the car , I was short on gas and told her just to charge me the couple of dollars I was short , which was LESS than a quarter of a tank and she said 32$ , with gas at 9.99 a gallon . Never do rental with Hertz, particular this office again even though very closed to my home. They charged me $300 fine just for smoking a couple cigarettes. Fine, but they never informed me of such policy. Bad customer services. The day I returned the car, the lady checked out the returned rental pointed her finger to the $300 fine hanged up high at the main door when we walked back into her desk. I came there to rent the car on the day I had accident so that I could go to work on the next day... and they expected me to pay attention on that sign which is hanged up high. So that is how I was ripped off. This is a very unpleasant business experience with Hertz, especially this location. read more

First and foremost, this has been one of the worst experiences as far as car service. I am so appalled. I only received service from hertz because my vehicle was getting serviced at Honda. As I walked in they asked if I have the paperwork and a mask. I stated that I did not have a mask and I would wait outside. After seeing several people be helped without a mask and another man being helped (who arrived after me), I asked how long it was going to take. At this point Jason stated he could not help me because I did not have a mask. He did not state that when he initially seen me and had me waiting for more than 20 minutes. After complaining to him and Honda, he came out saying," oh, here is a complimentary mask from VW". This experience has been extremely frustrating. I don't understand how this business and man could be so unprofessional. Was it because I look young or because I am Hispanic and look super light skinned or was it because of the mask issue? Book a rental at Hertz weeks before my daughters wedding for a premium large SUV. The website said I would get a Yukon or "similar" we'll after waiting 1 hour in waiting room they offered me a non-premium SUV that smelled like weed and had bad wear & tear to it. I asked if they had something else, this is for a wedding, the sales person pretended to call someone then said no this is all we have. Then he quickly tried to process the transaction and he also increased the charge by adding "LDW" a special insurance they have for their cars w/out even asking me. I asked why the price doubled he said everyone gets this insurance and I would feel safer with it. I should of paid attention to the reviews...THIS PARTICULAR LOCATION SUCKS! Hertz almost ruined my daughters wedding LUCKILY, Avis car rental at the Moreno Valley mall saved the day! Gave me a brand new SUV, premium with all sorts of discounts...Thanks Andy! Its crazy because I rented a Jaguar at the Riverside, CA location with outstanding customer service. But dealing w/ the Moreno Valley branch has made me change to a different rental company for now on. read more

This was the absolute worst experience ever. I reserved and paid for a C class car 2 weeks in advance. I went today to pick up the car, and first of all they couldn't find my reservation with my confirmation code. Then he had to login to the main branch to actually see my reservation. Then, the car I reserved wasn't there. He callled the main branch to see if they had a C class there. They didn't. Then he asked if we could get an upgrade to what they only had was a 300, we could get the upgrade if we paid for the additional upgrade cost. If I wanted rent a 300 I would have reserved that from the beginning. They could have made us happy, since it was their mistake, by giving us the upgrade with no extra charge. But they wanted to continue with horrible customer service and wasted our time. This was the our beginning of our vacation, ugh. We cancelled the reservation and will never use them again.
